ViolentMike: Eddie Alvarez signing with adrenaline does not affect him participating in the DREAM lightweight grand prix. He is still scheduled to fight Hellboy in round 2. I would think that Adrenaline would actually encourage him to compete in the tournament. After all they arent a real company, they will only have shows like once every 4 months, and the contracts are not exclusive. Basically Adrenaline is like a management team, that occasionally puts together its own shows, but mostly it will just pimp its fighters out to other organizations. Its a shame that the UFC wont ever borrow some of its fighters to put together matches that the fans want to watch.

Hopefully 1 day soon, Dana budges on this issue.

john and zheka i agree totally and have been saying this for months. while it was a little disrespectful for dana to call them "crazy russians" it wasn't that big of an insult and can understand why he said it. i think its just he said he said between the two and fedor needs to step up and demand that he fights good legitimate mma fighters or fire his management.

"So Fedor would be better than Sylvia (boring and disliked by almost all UFC fans) and Rothwell (who????)"

i guess that's just how sh*tty it is to make money with Fat Fedor.

"I would trade Fedor for Rothwell and Sylvia every day."

Says the person who is both their agent, and president of thier company, LOL.

Monson/Russow wasn't exactly a blockbuster main event. However, if they are able to have Sylvia/Fedor as the main event, this event quickly becomes a MUST SEE.

John, you said that Adrenaline signed Eddie Alvarez? I didn't even know that his current contract was up. Does this effect him and the DREAM LW tourney?

Fedor Emelianenko Vs. Tim Sylvia Being Discussed For June
By Jason Perkins | April 07, 2008

Fedor Emelianenko Vs. Tim Sylvia Being Discussed For June
A proposed contest between Fedor Emelianenko and Tim Sylvia is currently in discussions according to a source close to the negotiations. Though our source informed us that this fight is a "solid possibility" it should be noted that it is far from a done deal and would require further negotiations if a basic agreement is reached. There are also other names in the works for both fighters should this fight fail to materialize.

The fight, however, if officially agreed to, will be held in Chicago this June under the newly formed Adrenaline MMA banner. The card is also set to feature Jeff Monson taking on Mike Russow in a heavyweight showdown.

Former UFC champion Tim Sylvia was recently released from his UFC contract and has since signed with Adrenaline MMA; which coincidently employs his agent, Monte Cox as CEO of the company. The promotion has also signed Ben Rothwell and Eddie Alverez as the company looks to begin stockpiling talent as they move towards their inaugural event to be held on June 14th

The problem with Fedor is his management team. fedor really doesnt get too involved with his contractual negotiations. Its al;l in the hands of his agents, and halft he time he doesnt even know whats going on. As for him picking his opponents....that is completely false! Fedor fights whoever his manger puts in front of him...he rarely even knows what opponents are even offered to him. For example: He has never even met Dana white... His team was negotiating what could be the most important contract of his life, and he didnt even show up to meet Dana.

The problem is that he trusts his management way too much and they are a stubborn and tough bunch to deal with. I understand his point of view though: He trusts his manager, he just wants to fight and doesnt want to be perdonally involved with the million offers a day he must get from all kinds of organizations. Unlucky for us that his manager (fiklestein), is a stuborn lunatic

Further hurting our cause, Dana white is like the American Ficklestein.....so how can we expect those to stuborn egomaniacs to work together to come to an agreement?

Even worse is the CRAZY, clauses Dana put in the contract trying to contro him. I blame Dana mostly because Fedor was willing to fight in mma exlcusively to the UFC which would have been great. Then the egomaniac Dana, decided that wasnt good enough, he wanted control over Fedor's life:

No competeing in sambo: What right does Dana have to demand this? that is his national sport of Russia and its a huge homor for a russian. Not to mention, when opponents find out they have to fight Fedor (in Sambo), they dont even show up. For example, only 1 of Fedor's opponents showed up to face him at the Sambo world championships. he only had to fight 1 fight that lasted a minute? Did Dana really have to try to control him and keep him from doing that? No!

No unsanctioned UFC interviews, movies....The UFC just wanted complete control.

Lowballing his brother who is an animal and would instantly be a top 10 UFC fighter! Why would they do that? Aleksander is amazing and has a wolrd of potential. He would shake up the heavyweight division real fast, and Dana didnt want to sign any of his young red devil fight teamates which is idiotic. Those kats are young and many of them can fight and have a world of potential, for example: Kirli!

joe k, who has Fedor fought lately? You are talking about guys that Gaydor has beat a long time ago. In the past year Randy has beat 2 top ten HWs and in the past three years the best opponents Fedor has faced was a MW and Cro Cop who couldn't cut it in the UFC and Cro Cop gave him a hell of a fight. If Randy Moss went to arena football would he still be considered the best WR on the planet? Oh and by the way, I don't know what fight you watched but sylvia was mauling nog until he got the submission so just to set the record straight Nog didn't destroy Tim and the only way Randy would lose to Nog is off his back and that goes for Fedor also.
