Eh, don't hate on Huerta. He's an excellent, talented fighter and has a lot of heart. If you had the opportunities he's been presented, wouldn't you take them? Can you blame him?? As for the "El Fagador" comment, that is just plain ignorance. Anyone can see he's one of the most talented, nicest guys around and he was blessed with extremely good looks. I also don't think KenFlo will whoop his azz. It may end up being up and up with Huerta hopefully winning. GO BJ PENN!!! HAWAII IN THE HOUSE!!!

Huerta and Florian would be a great match and I would put my money on Huerta winning due to his talent and perserverance to win. Instead of calling out Huerta, KenFlo should have called out Sherk or Penn if he was really interested in a title shot. I personally think he wasn't ready to get pounded out by Sherk again. Neither one is ready for Penn and BJ is going to pound out Sherk, who deserves a beating anyways since he appears to be such a cocky person. GO HAWAIIAN!!!

I wouldn't guarantee a Florian victory by any stretch, but I can tell you that Huerta is not going to come out of a fight with him with his poster boy looks intact. He's going to be a bloody mess. He may gut his way to a W like he did against Guida, but that fight showed that Huerta isn't at the level were he can walk through a guy with skills like Guida or Florian (or any of the other 6 or 7 guys around the same level). That said, Huerta could find a way to win against anyone other than Penn or Sherk. He'd have a snowball's chance against Sherk and zero chance against Penn. Florian, on the other hand, is always a threat to end a fight by stoppage due to a cut with those razor sharp elbows. I can't see Roger KO'ing or submitting him, so he's going to have to go the distance. Against Florian, that's no joke. He's going to take some serious damage. If he can pull off the W he deserves a ton of credit and sets himself up for a superfight with Penn, who is sure to take out Sherk in my opinion. My money is on Florian, though.

Florian is a great fighter, but he's susceptible against strong wrestlers (unless he softens them up by elbowing them on the back of the head). In all seriousness, Florian vs. Huerta would be a great fight, as both fighters try to finish fights, but we haven't seen either finished in a long time.

Penn GSP II is one of the fights I'd most like to see. They are both at the top of the P4P list after Silva and whoever wins would almost be on par with him as the best in the sport. While I would be rooting for Penn, this would be a tough one to call. Their last fight was basically a draw. Although GSP got the W, Penn did more damage. Both fighters have improved since then, Penn is more fit and determined, but GSP's wrestling has just gone through the roof. Although BJ has insane takedown defense, GSP would probably take him down alot. Penn would have 5 rounds to find a sub, but GSP is very tough to catch. He's probably more vulnerable on his feet, as both Serra and Penn have shown. BJ is not great at taking guys down, and GSP has the best takedown defense I've ever seen. If BJ were to win, I'd see him landing some good shots early, softening GSP up for a submission in the middle rounds. GSP would likely win by working hard for a five round decision and staying out of BJ's submission web. My money would be on BJ, but this could be the fight of the ages.

I would love to see Florian and Huerta fight for the #1 contender spot, but I think it will hold up the LW title for too long. I would rather have another LW title fight around September and Florian is the right guy for that. I think he has earned it by convincingly stopping his last 4 opponents since his title fight loss to Sherk. Also, doing it that way would put Huerta in position to face the winner of Sherk/Penn-Florian provided he wins the fight in August. If Florian and Huerta were to fight, I think that Kenny would have the advantage because he is better at both striking and BJJ than Huerta. Huerta is better at wrestling and scrambling, but it's hard to stop an opponent with wrestling (with the exception of the unusual slam KO).
Toms Bombs brings up a good point.

I think the person being over rated here is Joe Lauzon. He beat an out of his prime Jens Pulver, won his first TUF fight, lost his second TUF fight, and then beat some 5'6" Miletich fighter that usually fights at 145.

And now all of the sudden, he gets to fight Kenny Florian that a little over a year ago fought a bloody 5 round war with the steriod jacked Sean Sherk and has beat everyone since?

J'La is part of the UFC hype wagon. Nick Diaz is a stud fighter and showed heart against Pellegrino. If Diaz was from Mass., he would have fought Florian.

In any rate, Florian vs. Huera would be a good fight. I'd bet on Florian's abilities over Roger's cardio and fast fight pace.
If Jens was out of his prime when he fought Lauzon, he should retire before his next fight. Jens is going to get destroyed by Faber.

Florian v Huerta would be a great fight, so I'm all for it. It would hold up BJ for a while, however. He wouldn't be able to defend his title again until December.

I see Penn doing simotanious defenses of both belts til he clears out anyone that the media thinks is good, he doesnt want to leave anyone behind for people to say "oh, he didnt fight Florian, or ooops, Fitch is good and could get Penn if he would have faught him" Penn wouldnt say "i wanna be known as the best ever" if he wasnt planning on doing some major *ss kicking all over the MMA map and thats what it would take to be known as the best ever. You want a belt, any belt, you gotta go through BJ to get it. Expect lots of BJ over these next 5-7 years and as a HUGEEEEEEEEE Penn fan, im beyond stoked and cant wait to see him fight whoever, because whoever steps in there with him has at least got nuts, if nothing else they got nuts (except Sherk, he HAS to fight BJ and the roids probably shrunk his down a notch hehehe)
It's actually smarter for Florian to fight Huerta rather than jump in next with the winner of Sherk/Penn. Ken-Flo is the #1 contender right now after Sherk, so he deserves the title shot, he just won't be able to get past BJ, who will submit Sherk inside of 3 rounds. Huerta, on the other hand, Florian can beat, which will cement his place at the top of the division. Maybe he'll get lucky and BJ will move up immediately to take on GSP. If Huerta wins, then I think BJ should stick around to fight him, because that match-up would have some real marquee value. Huerta is one of the most marketable fighters around, and he's not overrated, he's just beatable by any number of guys lingering around the top 5 in the division (Maynard, Edgar, Griffin, Guida, Stevenson and of, course Florian). But he could also find a way to beat anyone of those guys. Amongst guys not named Penn or Sherk, the top 10 in the division have an any given Sunday quality. I would give Florian a slight edge against Huerta because I think he could open him up with a cut. Otherwise they are evenly matched, but Florian is a more well-oiled machine. Couldn't see Huerta submitting him or KOing him. Florian has great cardio, so it would be a tough fight for Roger. He might be better off fighting Nate Diaz (who I'm starting to really like). He would have the edge in strength there and striking. All he would have to do is avoid a sub for 3 rounds and he'd get a W over a TUF champ and maintain the luster he's built up. Florian could make him look bad. That said, I'd love to see the fight. They are both great competitors. Huerta might be the better athlete, but Florian has incredible focus and determination.
WORD! except im not into Nate, not my cup of tea. I think all of the current champs are on different levels than any of the contenders in there classes, especially Silva and Penn, GSP needs to put Serra away and he'll share the same P4P quality and ahead of the curve-ness these two own. Either way, BJ Penn IS the greatest fighter to ever grace an octagon, until he puts GSP away 2 out of 3 or even 3 out of 5 he'll have that "but gsp beat him" monicre over his head.
