I am rooting for the Thiago Alvez KO win, but I am predicting a Karo win by ........................ Decision.

I hope Thiago sticks to his gameplan and presses karo the whole time bringing "more heat". Karo actually tends to strive in the face of adversity. I can't wait for tomorrow night!
ViolentMike: when you get the chance go to yesterdays thread about who cung le fights next. Scroll towards the bottom, and you will see a post I wrote about The next Fedor Kiril, and I provided a link to watch this 19 year old Phenoms last fight. He have to see how tough and skilled this kid is... Please watch the fight when you get the chance.
John, I did watch the fight. Then I looked up some more of his fights and saw him lose to some Latin fighter. How much does he weigh? He can't be much over 205, and how much did that guy he was fighting weigh? That was actually a pretty old fight that you had linked to, April of last year. Do you have any of Kirill's other fights that I can watch???
I have been trying to find out what weight he fights at for some time now. I dont understand all that Kilogram crap. That dude he was fighting wads alot bigger. Video's on his fights are hard to come by. That website was new to me and I didnt get the chance to go through it all to see if they have any more Kiril fights on it. I dont have too much info on his career, because its hard to follow, but he usually fights for M-1 Mix Fight events. They usually have team Russia vs. some other country.

I do know that Kiril lost to Antonio Mendes (who is fighting in the UFC but I forget who his opponent is). He started the fight well, but the doctor stopped it due to cuts. It was an ok event that fearured Kiril, aleksander and gegard Mousasi.

Kiril looks to be tough as nails. he can take big shots, stay cool and show off his striking, which from what I saw is very impressive. He displays that wonderful Fedor footwork. I will hunt down some more video's of his fights and I will send them to you by the end of the week.
sherdog has kiril listed at 88kg which is around 195.but in that video against that french guy he looked around 215-225.

[...] In the welterweight (170-pounds) division, long-time MMA stalwart, Karo Parisyan, faces a tough fight tonight against Thiago Alves. Both fighters have impressive resumes as Parisyan has fought a certifiable “Who’s Who” of MMA; Alves also has wins against a few big-name fighters in the UFC, although not to the extent of Parisyan. With a win tonight, Parisyan may be next in line for a title shot in the welterweight division. Read more about Parisyan’s fight with Alves here. [...]

everyone should watch this kid KIRIL SIDELKINOV.
i
He is said to be the heir apparent to FEDOR, we'll see how he shapes up. He has to be better at 19 then Fedor was.

Kiril and Chris Horedescki are the 2 best and most promising young fighters I have seen in MMA.

i sure hope he does KO the HEAT early in the 1st just so i can see some of the under card matches. and also that would make Fitch the clear cut number 1 contender. which IMO he already is.

Do you want names, IPS, email addresses? A ton of people feel he is the number one contender.
Not after tomorrow!!! and Fitch would own this chumpstain.
I second that! Fitch would tear this guy apart. He looked good against fighters years ago before the competition drastically strengthened in the WW division plus Karo looked horrible in his last fight winning by split decision which could have went either way. Fitch fought a guy who's style made for a stalking match finished with a pounding but bring in GSP or any fighter who'll come at him and there will be a brawl! This is MMA not Judo/boxing. Karo has too many weaknesses for Fitch to pick apart.

I asked a qustion yesterday towards the end of the day and I didnt get any resposes so I will ask it again:

If you can clear this up for me I would really appreciate it:

In the UFC's scoring system, say a top Ju jitsu fighter is fighting a stand up fighter (who does not want the fight to go to the ground). The ju jitsu fighter grabs a hold of the stand up fighter and pull him down into his guard. Does the fighter who ends up on top, get points for the takedown or does the fighter who ended up on the bottom, but strategically pulled the oppobnent on top of him into his guard, gets the points?
I think that is one of the major grey areas with the points system, not to mention how do judges see that situation, if they even realise it occurred...Do the judges know which fighter is best versed in any given dicipline for all fights and judge accordingly? Highly unlikely.

I think we will have to accept that MMA will be a hard sport to judge and will end up with lots of questionable decisions...Fighters will have to finish fights... Else figters need to fight again...Like Bisbing and Hamil were SUPPOSED to :)
Absolutely ToeLock. That was exactly what I was going to say. It is the biggest grey spots in the scoring. Who gets points, the person on the bottom with the active guard, or the dry humper on top just waiting to get stood back up?

IMO, if a fighter pulls guard and goes for submission attempts without taking any damage, then he got the best of the exchange. However, if he pulls guard only to get punched/elbowed in the face for 30 seconds before attempting a weak armbar, I would give the exchange to the fighter on top.

Nick Diaz would have many more wins in the UFC if MMA judges knew how to score fights 100% properly. Just because you are on the bottom does not mean that you are in the worse position. For example, Tim Sylvia vs Big Nog. When Sylvia is in Big Nog's guard, does Sylvia have the advantage? NO. Nog does.

Does the fighter who ends up on top, get points for the takedown or does the fighter who ended up on the bottom, but strategically pulled the oppobnent on top of him into his guard, gets the points?
I think that is one of the major grey areas with the points system, not to mention how do judges see that situation, if they even realise it occurred…Do the judges know which fighter is best versed in any given dicipline for all fights and judge accordingly? Highly unlikely.

I think we will have to accept that MMA will be a hard sport to judge and will end up with lots of questionable decisions…Fighters will have to finish fights… Else figters need to fight again…Like Bisbing and Hamil were SUPPOSED to
Absolutely ToeLock.

When Sylvia is in Big Nog’s guard, does Sylvia have the advantage? NO. Nog does.
