MORE IMPORTANT NEWS: Although some discussions are underway for a match with UFC middleweight champion A. Silva and boxing champ Roy Jones Jr., UFC pres Dana White would not permit this fight to happen if terms are reached.

White, who would have ultimite power over such an event because of Silva’s contract with UFC, made comments to Dave Meltzer in the edition of Wrestling Observer.

The potential fight — could have earned each participant millions — has been discussed since the last UFC 82 event, when Silva said that he’d welcome the challenge.

White told Silva’s mgmt to quit talking about it since won’t be permitted.

Silva would have to get a boxing license it would be a bout, not an exhibition.

Silva has a 1-1 career boxing record and a 21-4 mark (with a 6-0 in the UFC) in MMA.

This fight was always longshot since the UFC would have its most dominant champ defeated by a boxer star. Additionally, there would have also the risk of injury, putting the UFC’s middleweight title on hol the fight could have gotten Silva and Jones millions of dollars.

I just watched the weigh-ins on the UFC website. They showed Edgar and Maynard right before the main event. I don’t know if it really means they will be on the main card, but it was interesting.

Franky should have used some of those pointers for striking in his fight with Cung Lee…lol…just jokin. Shouldn’t have tried to stand with Cung at all.
