frank shamrock vs cung le
Showtime will attempt to bring fans a little closer to the Strikeforce action on Saturday night as it rolls out the “Showtime Cage Cam” for the main event fight between Frank Shamrock and Cung Le live from San Jose, Calif., at the HP Pavilion.

It will either be a referee-mounted camera similar to the Pride FC glory days or one of those cameras used in NBA or NFL games that hangs from a cable above the action and is controlled by remote.

Both are possibilities at this time.

Regardless, fans who do or do not have the Showtime premium cable network will be able to watch the unique perspective provided by the Cage Cam live on Sho.com during the fight. And if you miss the live feed it will be available on demand on Sho.com following the match.

This might come in handy to get an up close look at Shamrock’s ribs breaking from Cung Le’s body kicks or Cung’s facial expressions as Shamrock drops him with that right hand. Either way this could be very cool for fans.

Check it out on Saturday night and see how it works.

When I saw a headline beginning with “Shamrock vs Le” I seriously began to think that the fight had been cancelled and the card was being scrapped all together. Pheeewww.

So what’s up with this new camera? Can we only see it online or is Showtime going to be showing highlights of it inbetween rounds?

Nothing is concrete but with so many different sources all saying that the UFC actually agreed to terminate his contract (voiding the final fight left on the deal), If this weren’t true, I would expect a rebutal statement defusing this rumor by either Tim, his manager Monte Cox, or the UFC…but no such statement has come. It doesnt look good

It looks like M-1 basically swapped Fedor for Sylvia, but Monye-Cox can no longer use the M-1 name. Not that it is a big deal because it isnt a bigbrand in the UFC, but the rights to M-1 belong to Fedor’s management.

Cung Le won before the 4th round because Frank Shamrock was unable to answer the bell due to a broken forearm. Cung Le wins by TKO.
