Mania, at this point does it matter. He will either:
A. Continue to beat up cans in Japan
or
B. Get destroed by Sergei Kharitonov in June
Cro Cop was very exciting during the PRIDE era, but is too stuborn to adjust to the UFC game. I have a feeling that he will never fight in the USA or England again.

Mania dont get me wrong…. I was a huge Cro Cop fan. When he signed with the UFC along with Rampage I was going INSANE (Rogan tends to rub off on me lol). Mentally he looks CRUSHED!
Trust me there is nothing I wish more for the heavyweight division than for Mirko to come back to the UFC like a Beast, but you are right, at this point I have very litte faith in him.
You know what Mirko needs Mania to get his career on track?
He needs to fight Barnett for like the 50th time. Barnett is one of the best Heavyweights on the Planet but Mirko is his Kryptonite. I really dont understand, how he manages to beat Barnett every time. Maybe they should let him get another win against Josh to get him back on track!

First off, how can you say he’s too stubborn to adapt to the UFC game when he’s training in a cage just for the UFC. And if you dont believe he’ll ever fight in the states again, you obviously need to do more reading and less posting.
You say Cro Cop is mentally “CRUSHED”. Josh Barnett is mentally “CRUSHED”. He hasn’t been the same for a long time. Cro Cop is just being smart by goin back to Japan and getting his stuff straight, then coming back to the UFC when he knows he’s ready.
Yank Yank! Until he actually beats someone of some stature or ability I am not real impressed. Hope he comes back to life and lives up to his potential but really tired of alot of these big names hype and no delivery.
Isn’t that the same cage he had after he joined with the UFC? Notice how at the 1:02 mark, they pan up to show the UFC logo on the wall and the video color changes. After the logo is out of sight, the color goes back to normal.

Do u really think I havent read every bit of news regarding this subject that is available? Come on dude. If Mirko wasnt stuborn, he wouldnt have needed Gonzaga to kick his head of and Cheiuk Kongo to make him his bitch before realizing that maybe he should be training in a cage!
Josh Barnett is mentally Crushed? Where in the world did you get that idiotic Idea. Only guy he has trouble with is Cro Cop (which is 1 of the greatest mystery’s of mma). He is 1-1 against UFC champion Nougiera. He just heel hooked Yoshida, who is a freaking Olympic Gold Medalist in Judo, meaning he knows a thing or to about foot locks and submisisons.
If Barnett came to the UFC tomorrow, he would shake up the whole dicvision relaly quick. if Cro Cop comes back to the UFC tomorrow he would become Ediie Sanchez’s stepping stone.lol!
I would like to see Cro Cop suceed in the UFC but I just don’t think it will happen at least not in the HW Division. Hopefully he stays off of the roids in Dream so his body can adjust to fighting without them. I really want to beleive he wasn’t on steroids in Pride but how can you go from being one of the most dominant HWs in the world and having one of the closest fights with Fedor to crap in the UFC. I am not a hater that wants to see him fail I really do hope he can get it together and look like the Cro Cop of old again.

Is the new japanese org “dream” is this in a cage or like pride and in a ring?
I’m a huge cro-cop fan and consistantly refer to him as the biggest ufc disappointment ever. Mark hunt would stomp him (again).
The title is a bit misleading, since the cage is not new. Its the only cage he ever had and he had him for more than 6 months now and it has been reported here on mmamania as well, or am I missing something obvious?
why is the name Van Damm on the wall is Jean-Claude or Rob former WWE wrestler
I dont know what your stance is on the following topic, but, Fedor is widely regarded as the best fighter in the world, and he claims Cro Cop is the best he’s ever fought.
Barnett is 6-4 in his last 10 fights, not too spectacular. Not the kind of record for someone that would come in and “shake up the whole division really quick”. Doesnt look like he’s quite the same fighter as his 15-1 record starting out. The wide belief is, Barnett doesn’t like getting hurt (who does?), but he’s afraid of gettin hurt, and after he got hurt against Cro Cop, he mentally isn’t the same, because prior to that he was just about invincible.
If I’m wrong “Mania” can correct me and throw in their opinion on the subject.
And by the way, Gonzaga just beasted him with a brutal head kick, no denying that. Gonzagas pretty good. And Kongo broke or cracked Cro Cops ribs in the first round of their fight. A round which Cro Cop won. After that, Kongo won the next two rounds. Pretty sure I’d lose a couple rounds if I were fighting with broken ribs. Not everybody is superman like Couture and can fight with a fractured arm and win.

What’s your point??? He lost….twice…..and never looked like winning either fight
wow can’t believe so many of you doubt mirko. Mirko is a kickboxing legend. Mirko is also probably the greatest striker in the world, his last 2 fights in the UFC show little evidence of it, but the guy was fighting injured, and he was fighting very heavy opponents. So if you kept up on things that mirko has changed you’d know that he’s gonna be back in the UFC and better than ever. As some of you may or may not know mirko was a political figure in croatia, which has cut into his time to devote to training as a full time fighter, as of 2008 he no longer has those responsibilities. Another thing is mirko was also on the lighter side of the HW division, so he recently bulked up and gained 10 lbs or so. And if you guys are die hard mirko fans, like me, you’d do some digging and find out that mirko is now back with his old coach, who trained him to be the great kickboxer he was in the k-1/early pride career days (not to say he hasn’t been a great fighter since then, but Marijan is a genius when it comes to training fighters). If you saw his recent fight in dream.1 you’d have seen that he’s also back to using his hands a lot more, and crocop’s hands can make a beast cry (reference to bob sapp). And if you say you were a crocop fan but you can’t believe in him anymore, your a hater and a fair-weather fan and b*tches like you are the worst part of mma.
I think Van Damme help sponsor it or something. We all know Jean Claude Van Damme is gay for MMA fighers. Who remember that look he gave Fedor after he (Fedor) beat another can?

Thank YOU!
Craig: U sound silly defended cro cop and trying to tell me that he wasnt broken mentally, when the facts are that he has admitted it himself in about a dozen different interviews.
Cro Cop cant beat top DREAM heavyweights:
Sergei Kharitonov or Mark Hunt, so he can forget about fighting in the UFC!!!!
That training is not impressive. I hope that’s only playing around for the cameras. I have never actually seen him sparring with guys his size or bigger, (didn’t see the Gilbert Yvel or Remy Bonjasky training, wonder how intense it was). As a big fan of the guy I hope he can beat Sergei and Hunt and then return to the UFC but I have my doubts.
I will say though, if that’s the gym in his basement that is so cool. Does anyone know if it is? I think it might be.
Interesting, Wikipedia have him down as 235 lbs. It wasn’t that a few weeks ago if I remember correctly. Is that what he weighed in at for DREAM 1 Mania? I couldn’t find the weigh in results.

I would rather see Sergei Kharitonov destroy Mirko and the UFC sign him. 1 trick ponies just aren’t going to work in the UFC anymore. Tito is running away and now Mirko has. Cro Cop is one of thegreatest Kickboxers ever, but he isnt a top mma fighter.
He actually was pretty good though in mma during his PRIDE days but he has a lot to learn and adjust to if he wants to make an impact in the UFC….Until he is reday to make adjustments his only options are:
Fightin Japan
or
Become a stepping stone for bums like Eddie Sanchez because his Aura is Dead. No one in the UFC fears him anymore, and that worked in mirko’s favor a lot through out his career.
Fedor and Mark Hunt laid out the blue print to beat Cro cOP….Bully him and he Folds!

Believe 106 kgs was it.
ok cro cop is ring fighter for those who dont really no about him if you guys think that he could not hang with the heavyweights in the ufc wake up put any heavyweight in the ufc in the ring with mirko they will be in big trouble its mentally alot of the pride guys are not doing good because its big change mentally comming from fighting in a ring then octagon and having a diffrent atmosphere too so if you guys think you ufc is better then any mma organization and have the best fighter then you are fool
about time he got a cage for training
he definitely needs to get more practice in the octagon…

You say Cro Cop is mentally “CRUSHED”. Josh Barnett is mentally “CRUSHED”. He hasn’t been the same for a long time. Cro Cop is just being smart by goin back to Japan and getting his stuff straight, then coming back to the UFC when he knows he’s ready.
If Barnett came to the UFC tomorrow, he would shake up the whole dicvision relaly quick. if Cro Cop comes back to the UFC tomorrow he would become Ediie Sanchez’s stepping stone.lol!
mania u guys should quit wasteing time on this bum
CC can’t find on his heels.
Yea wutev he cant hang in the ufc
Coming from someone who spells “whatever” “wutev”. Your opinion is nullified : )
Here is hoping he abuses everyone he faces in Japan and comes back to the UFC like the beast he used to be.
amen
Is the new japanese org “dream” is this in a cage or like pride and in a ring?
I’m a huge cro-cop fan and consistantly refer to him as the biggest ufc disappointment ever. Mark hunt would stomp him (again).
why the hell does everyone hate this guy??
The title is a bit misleading, since the cage is not new. Its the only cage he ever had and he had him for more than 6 months now and it has been reported here on mmamania as well, or am I missing something obvious?
Crocop doesn’t fight as though he wants to be a champion right now. I’d train as though every next opponent was Fedor if I were him.
I lvoe CroCop but I won’t really care about any training techniques, videos, etc until he gets in there with a real fighter and takes their head off.
why is the name Van Damm on the wall is Jean-Claude or Rob former WWE wrestler
Maybe Van Dammit… flipped the bill.
cro cop is getting his head right so he can come back to ufc.
why is the name Van Damm on the wall is Jean-Claude or Rob former WWE wrestler
I think Van Damme help sponsor it or something. We all know Jean Claude Van Damme is gay for MMA fighers. Who remember that look he gave Fedor after he (Fedor) beat another can?
he still has his ufc gloves on. aww wishful thinking

Not everybody is superman like Couture and can fight with a fractured arm and win.
this is real old

Why is my opinion nullified ?? cuz o wait “because” i don’t feel like typing “whatever”. Cro Crap left cuz ( because sorry) he cant whoop anybody in the ufc hahhahahahahahahahahahhaha
Mania, at this point does it matter. He will either:
A. Continue to beat up cans in Japan
or
B. Get destroed by Sergei Kharitonov in June
Cro Cop was very exciting during the PRIDE era, but is too stuborn to adjust to the UFC game. I have a feeling that he will never fight in the USA or England again.
Yep, he got found out by some big boys in the UFC. Back to the Orient for a few easy wins….

WAR MIRKO!
cro crap..boom! head kick!

Ya i remember lol that was pretty gay almost like he wanted fedor to saw he loved him…………….ah man love

He has one since July. About time you logged in the internet.
