The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 cast member and legendary (in his own mind) street brawler Marlon Sims (3-2) is set to return to action against super tough up-and-comer Billy Evangelista (5-0) in a 155-pound bout this weekend on the Strikeforce: “Shamrock vs. Cung Le” under card.
No major site is reporting this match up — not even ProElite.com or Strikeforce. However, Strikeforce Vice President Mike Afromowitz today confirmed the showdown with MMAmania.com.
Sims has had one fight since his backyard brawl with Noah Thomas on the set of TUF 5, losing to Pat Minihan via submission (rear naked choke) in December 2007.
Evangelista, on the other hand, has been turning heads on the local Fresno, Calif., scene with his undefeated record and fantastic promise. He trains with the prestigious American Kickboxing Academy (AKA) camp, which has some of the most talented fighters in the sport on its roster.
Don’t expect this one to go the distance.

Floyd Mayweather wants Hatton rematch?
Ricky Hatton’s dream of meeting Floyd Mayweather for a second time moved a step closer today when it was revealed that the American is considering a rematch at Wembley Stadium next year.
Mayweather won the first contest with a 10th-round stoppage in Las Vegas last December but Hatton feels Joe Cortez, the referee, contributed to the only defeat on his 44-fight record. In reality, Mayweather was comfortably superior throughout the contest and Hatton showed little to suggest a second meeting would provide a different outcome.
The Mancunian’s next assignment is against Juan Lazcano, of Mexico, on May 24 while Mayweather is scheduled to resume his rivalry with Oscar De La Hoya on September 20. But Richard Schaefer, the chief executive of Golden Boy promotions, revealed today that discussions over luring Mayweather to London have already begun.
“It’s very likely that Floyd will come over next spring. Floyd and his manager Al Hayman are very serious about it,” Schaefer said. “The first fight was great and while Floyd would have to get past Oscar first, he knows that Ricky has talked about the referee.
“He wants to show that he will repeat what happened the first time. That’s his motivation. Floyd realises that Hatton is the most beloved fighter in the world and for him to come over to Wembley Stadium is making history.
“For Ricky it’s about challenges and it’s the same for Floyd. Fighting in front of 100,000 fans would be huge motivation for Floyd.”

NC-17, I have also read that he has been released.I was really surprised to read that. I dont see how the UFC could let Tim leave so easily, with out at least making him fight the last fight on his contract…especially with the current state of the UFC Heavyweight division. Its really a Bizzarr story.
M-1 basically swapped Fedor for Tim Sylvia??? What the hell r they doing? YOu would think that if Tim left the UFC he would go fight foe EliteXC, who have that Juicy new CBS deal, and I am sure would pay him much more than the UFC does because they are starving for quality fighters and having the title of a former UFC champion helps out your $ amount in any contract negotiations.
M-1 did nothing with Fedor, what can they expect to do with Sylvia? At best they will put on a show once every 3 months, and probably pimp Sylvia out to DREAM or other mma organizations.
I really cant blame Tim. I am not a fan of his, but he has been with the UFC wor a while. He won the title multiple times and he still only makes 100,000….and Brocks getting $250,000. I know its business and Brock brings in the viewers but you cant blame Tim for being disrespected and going where the money is.
He is no where near as rich as Randy, so I wont get on him for being a greedy $ whore. If the UFC is letting Tim leave with out a fight, I hope they have something big to counter this up there sleeves. They can not afford to just let Top Heavyweight fighters walk away. Quality Heavyweighhhts are the heardest fighters to find….1st Randy, now Sylvia? Re signing Arlovski isn’t enough nor is it gaurenteed.
