Jason Lambert (23-7) and Luis Arthur Cane (7-1) will clash in a light heavyweight bout at UFC 85 in London, England, at the O2 Arena on June 7, according to Sherdog.com.
“The Punisher” was knocked out in his most recent bout against Wilson Gouveia at UFC 80: “Rapid Fire” back in January. It was a fight that he appeared to control for most part, but got a little loosey-goosey in round two and paid the price.
Prior to the loss, Lambert was riding high on his own surprise stoppage of Renato “Babalu” Sobral at UFC 68: “Uprising” in March 2007.
Cane is out to redeem himself after his Octagon debut — a fight he lost to James Irvin because of an illegal knee to the head. “The Sandman” was apparently shaken up pretty bad, saying in recent interview that he couldn’t remember his address or telephone number following the fight.
The Brazilian, however, claimed that Irvin was just looking for a way out of the fight, calling him a “mediocre actor,” according to the report.
Both guys are out to prove themselves and are very dangerous. It’ll be interesting to see what Cane can do sans controversy — he was a highly touted prospect upon his arrival with the organization.

I wonder how Jason Lambert will bounce-back after, that nasty KO from Will..

Mania, I believe you are missing the word “out” after “way” and before “of”.
I don’t know much about Cane. So I would assume that Lambert would be the favorite. What type of fighter is Cane?
I agree with Cane. imo It looked like Irvin was faking it a little…”mediocre acting” is exactly what it looked like…

Cane is a nasty fighter man, he has some pretty good stand up and takedowns.
I saw Jason Lambert is person, and he is a small dude. But he hits hard, and he is a strong dude, so I say Lambert wins via KO.

Cane is a pretty bad dude. He definetly has not fought top competition, but I have seen a couple of his fights and he displays a very well rounded game…He is a Jiu jitsu fighter from Brazil. But he has won most of his fights via TKO or KO, with only one submission.
Lambert is an animal coming off an upset(to him) loss, and probably wants to take a head off, BUT I wouldn’t sleep on Cane. He is coming off a loss and wants to win just as much..
I bet against Lambert last time and it did me good. I might do it agian??

yeah, that was a realy nasty ko loss, he didnt even beleive that he lost a minute after the fight, he told his corner “you’re kidding me you’re kiddin me”
lol
I dont know all that much about Cane, except for what Mr. NC-17 provided for us. I do enjoy watching Lambert fight and he has a lot of fans, so I expect him to be the favorite.

Lambert will probably be the favorite. So maybe I will bet some $$ on Cane..I thought Wil was going to win, and I have to admit I was very nervous on my pick cause Lambert was putting a beat-down on Wil, but it all worked out in the end..
I dont see Lambert punishing Cane like he did Wil. I see Cane dominating a win…

John I dont know if you have seen this fight but there is a Luis Cane fight on youtube..It is his last fight before he came to the UFC..Cane .vs. james stelly. I know his opponant isn’t a top fighter or anything, but Cane displays some of his JJ and his stand-up.(which seems like he is well rounded)…all around’ entertaining fight..
I dont know how to post that quick link shit, so all I know is if you go to youtube and type Luis Cane, it should come up..
If anyone can teach me how to post those link-things it would be much appreciated.
im really happy jason lambert is bak i was worried he was headed too ifl…i want u guys to answer out there my best friend says jason lambert is top 10 light heavyweight i say no i want everybody who reads this to answer
Lambert is moving up to HW? I guess that’s not a bad move considering the competition level in LHW as opposed to HW. Unfortunately, that means he’s going to have to put on weight at the expense of that chiseled Greek god-like body of his.
i hope cane has him eating through a straw, haha but seriously i had lambert, can is pretty nasty dude and hopefully keep lambert from getting that wide ass body on him for gnp and keep it up for the KO, and after that, lambert will be the new sean salmon
I ran into that Cane guy he was walking with Roan Carneiro and some chick at UFC79 after the fights. he looked at me and stared while he was walking and kinda shadow boxing, I didnt look away and started wondering “why the fuck am I playing a staring contest with a guy that can clearly kick my ass” so I folded and looked away avoiding an ass whoopin lol,
That dude was huge I dont think the sandman was faking it, the reason why ppl might say he was acting bad was myb bcuz he was actually hurt and fucked up in his head. anywho, I thought Irvin was winning that fight with his stand up, until that knee.

chucksux and friends, IMO Lambert is no where near top 10, he beat Babalu fair and square but, it was more of Babalu’s fault, 1- Babalu should of finished the fight in the first, he was dominating( and its strange bcuz usually he finishes fights when they hit the ground).
2- he threw a knee with his hands down, bad move.
anyways his biggest win is against Babalu, got destroyed by Rashad whom I still dont think is top 10 unless he beats Chuck Rashad could barely hang with Tito and Bisping whom is now a middle weight.
Luis Cane by KO. I think he would have beaten James Irvin pretty easily by the way the fight looked to be going down before the illegal knee.
Who cares this is another ufc BUM. Sorry but its true lambert vs cane…its gotta be a undercard cause they both are terrible.
hey chucksux tell your friend that there is noway that lambert is in the top 10 he would be lucky to make the top 15.
1.Quinton RAMPAGE Jackson the CHAMP
2.Forrest riffin
3.lyoto machida
4.the ICEMAN Chuck Liddell
5.Keith Jardine
6.Wanderlei Silva
7.Maricio SHOGUN Rua
8.Tiago Silva
9.rashad evans
10.tito ortiz
the rest wilson gouveia - Houston Alexander - Stephan Bonnar - matt hamill - Tim Boetsch

You are out of your mind…Lambert is a beast and is going to kill this bum Cane…Gouveia got lucky…his face was being turned into hamburger meat before he got that lucky ass punch…can’t wait for him to send Cane to the hospital and jump into the top 10 of LHW..actually would love to see him jump to HW where I think he could do some real damage…He is going to punish Cane

Lambert is definitely top 15…how can you put Tim Boetsch ahead of him? He only has beat one guy…and The Punisher is definitely better then Alexander and Thiago Silva…I mean Silva has beat NO ONE of importance and I am not sold on him being a force until he fights someone who has a pulse…granted I definitely think that Jason HAS to win this fight or he is in trouble…if he loses he almost has to go to HW and try and make some noise there..you all can talk all you want to but he is a beast and is going to be ready to smash this bums head in and prove why he is known as The Punisher!

well actually i am not out of my mind, i didnt mean to offend you or your man crush, i simply said i HOPE cane beats him, and if he can prevent Lambert from doing what he does best than Cane can get the KO. relax, i still love u

i would have put Thiago in 3rd if he had fought & beat rashsd
but all the guys i have in between 4-8 could be 1 or 2 wins away from title contention.
a win over lyoto = title shot or 2 wins over any of my top 10.
after tito leaves the UFC,H.Alexander or T.Boetsch whoever has the more impressive win moves into my top 10.and lambert is still on the outside looking in.he needs to win his next 2 fights maybe even 3 before i move him upmy rankings.

Come on fellas! Just cause Dana has given someone a title shot, it does not make them in anyway the 2nd best lightweight in the world. U r dillusional if you think Forrest is better than all those fighters that you listed. I am a huge fan of Forrest giffin and I admire his heart and what he did to help put mma on the map, but that does not make him the 2nd best LHW in the UFC. For example, I dont think he could beat Machida, Liddell, or Jardine who u have ranked below Forrest!
all FORREST hsa done is beat the hell out of shogun rua for 14 mins until shogun gave up his back and then Forrest choked him out with only approx. 10 -15 sec. left in the fight.
evryone thought that shogun was going to walk thru FORREST boy did he prove everyone wrong.if beating the unoficial number 1 LHW doesnt make you number 1, what does. and dont give me that crap about shogun being injured, casuse so was Forrest.
he doesnt have to beat anyone below him cause hes already got a title shot.IMO he could beat Machida and win his rematch against Jardine but he might have trouble against CHUCK.

forrest won the fight i don’t think he beat the hell out of shogun or destroyed him like some people try to say, jardine knocked out forrest and beat chuck does that make him ahead of forrest than.
hears how i see it
1 rampage
2 henderson
3 liddell
4 shogun(would have him higher but still needs to show the ufc fans what he is about)
5 w silva
6 machida(probally one of the best but has not beat a top 10 lhw yet)
7 forrest (for the ufc fans only notable win is shogun)
8 jardine (beat foresst and liddel i am not sold on him yet)
9 lil nog
10 ortiz (can still beat alot of guys)

Well dont you think Forrest should have had to prove that he could eiether beat chuck, Machida, or at the very least a rematch against jardine in order to actually deserve a title shot?
I mean:
Loosing a close hard fought decision to Tito
Getting KO by Jardine
Beating Ramirez ( Not even top 20) in a 3 round snoozefest beating a completely healthy Shogun who was clearly on top of his game (sarcasm)…….
isn’t exactly the resume of a true number one contender for the best and most stacked division in the UFc, Light heavyweight!

first of all is Hendo a Mwt or Lhwt, eitherway he doesnt deserve to be 2,after backto back losses.seems to me this ranking is based on his pride rep. but thats ok cause i did the same with wanderlei.
im a chuck fan but hes not top 3 yet, maybe after he beat rashad & a rematch with jardine.
after getting injured again shogun will fall donw the list due to inactivity, but he probably would have worked his way up the list.
IMO who ever wins between W.Silva and Jardine gets the 5 spot.
its true that machida hasnt beaten anyone in the top 10, 4-0 is a pretty good UFC record.even though the only time he finished the fight before going to the judges was against sokoudjou. by the way he KOed your 9 lil nog, and now hes fighting in CANADA at HCF out of Calgary.
if machida beats tito then he will solidify his ranking and knock tito off the list, but i put him in the 10 spot cause he can possibly win this fight.
this div. is so close its difficult to rank these fighters objectivly,i know i had a hard time placing them in order.
here it is guys
#1-rampage
#2-jardine
#3-thiago silva
#4-forrest
#5-machida
6-i guess chuck
7-w.silva
8-shogun
9-matt hamill..he is goin to be a beast
10-tito
im only putting ufc guys in this list thats why lil nog isnt on here..id put elvia sinosic on this list over that bum rashad
i hate jason lambert. hes too FAT at 205.. he needs to do some cardio excercises and move DOWN to 185..

i based my ranking on dan on who i think he could beat witch is most lhw’s i kind of agree with you on chuck but i don’t think beating rashad will show as much as if he where fighting shogun, lil nog got knock out by the african assain but has not made a career out of getting knocked out.its a tuff devision and alot of fights have to play out to realy see who’s on top right now you could agrue the placement of alot of them and would not realy be wrong.
