I think Houston’s ground game is weak, but he does have SOME ground game. It’s mostly wrestling-based though, not BJJ. I don’t think he’ll ever submit someone, but look how he pushed Sakara right off when Sakara had him down. Yes, I know Sakara isn’t a ground wiz himself, and Houston got mounted by Thiago Silva, but people are seriously under-rating Silva. Thiago is VERY GOOD. He was by far the best LHW on that card (Bisping-Evans), and possibly a future champ. Houston’s never gonna be a championship contender, but so what? There are enough title contenders already. What we need is more exciting fighters. Houston could be MMA’s answer to Arturo Gatti.

Houston is a bad ass at striking and can KO at will…but he has NO ground game at all and if Irvin takes him down then its over..I am sure Irvin will try and take him down..he would be dumb to stand and bang with him
