DREAM MMA

Quoteworthy:

“FEG has been working with HDNet in bringing the Dream 2008 Light and Middleweight GP events to North America. And while the deal is not officially signed yet, it is very close to being finalized with most of the important elements already agreed upon.”

Mike Kogan, Director of FEGUSA, Inc., reveals that a deal is in the works to beam six upcoming events of the Japanese-based DREAM mixed martial arts promotion on the HDNet network. The deal will not include the event slated for March 15. However, a delayed broadcast of the event could air as early as next week and the network could begin to air “near live” shows as soon as April 29.

I am very happy to see that Dream is trying to bring there shows to west…. I love UFC but its not right what they did to Pride… they pretty much bought them and took there fighters and left them to be nothing. So i hope dream comes and is bigger and better than Pride and takes some of the UFC fighters back

UFC taking over PRIDE was right in every way!

DREAM getting TV is sweet! They’re already doing what PRIDE couldn’t which means DREAM could be bigger and better! Remember PRIDE Decade? Well, imagine DREAM in ten years.

Hell, imagine MMA in ten years. UFC in ten.

Damn it! Now I’m going to have to buy a big ass HD TV and subscribe to HDNet.

I agree, they just let them die… I could do a lot more with 77 million dollars…

Guess I will definatly have to get HDnet now. I understand there were other cultural obstacles to maintaining Pride but it sure as hell was not one of the best buisness decisions or executions I have witnessed. Then again I dont have 77 million dollars….or yen.

HDNet HD is so much clearer than the UFC feed so expect to feel like you are live. I recently set up 7.1 surround sound with my HD tv and all the fights sound great too. Plus you get weekly fight shows that you wopuld never see elsewhere. HDNet is great for MMA fans.

Some of “these guys” are up and comers, and they have a lot of the best fighters in the world. Fighters that would do VERY well in the UFC, probably beat down your heroes. Organizations like DREAM prove that the UFC does not have all the world’s best fighters. The UFC has less than a third of the top 25 of each weight class, by my estimation.

pride did it to themselves. actually dse kinda screwed zuffa in that particular deal.im sure zuffa would love to give pride back to dse for the 70 mil. most of the contracts were non-transferable and the organization itself was a mess. they are both suing each other btw.
