Frank shamrock left the ufc cause he was scared to fight tito again cause he knew he would lose a rematch and he would never beat chuck. He retired and then went to fight people who couldnt make it in the ufc. Tito was out of shape then and would destroy frank now. If frank thought he was so good he would come back and fight tito again and lose or come back and fight anderson silva and lose.

[...] A few days ago, Josh Thompson had this to say about the sparring sessions that would go on between Frank Shamrock and Cung Le: When he used to spar with Frank back in the day, a lot of people will remember that he used to throw Frank around like a rag doll, like his little sister. It was almost a joke how bad he worked Frank over back then. I am sure Frank remembers that. Cung is a good wrestler, has great throws and he kicks like a mule. [...]

actually there is some interesting information and background to this.

frank and josh actually trained together for quite a while and there was apparently some heat between the two during sparring and grappling sessions, it got particularily magnified when frank left American Kickboxing Academy to start shamrocks submission fighting

in 2006 frank shamrock questioned josh thompsons heterosexuality by commentating on the pink stripe in his hair and claiming that he would soon be "the first openly gay mixed martial artist"

josh thompson responded by saying that frank shamrock was a punk and always backs down from real challenges and should "stop living off of his victory over tito"

i think that josh thompson just said that cung would beat him because he and cung train together and are good friends.

I think that Anderson Silva would prove to be too fast for Cung Le to handle. Of course, I could be wrong, but that's my assessment. Silva is too fast for what I have seen so far from Le, he seem laxidasical
I agree ViolentMike, I think Anderson would take 'em with not much trouble at all. Chung Le has gotten to much credit for what he's done, he hasnt fought much competition at all, his striking has looked pretty good, but he hasnt realy fought many other accomplished strikers at all. When Frank is the best person you have fought(going to fight) you shouldnt be getting compared to Anderson.
Remember, Anderson has DESTROYED Hendo, Rich, and everyone else for a long long time. Compare Chung's credentials to that, and talk to me.
Le's striking looks nice and is fancy, but does not compare to the ability Anderson has, it's unreal, it's like magic, or cheat codes.

At first I thought Frank would win this fight by submission fairly quickly. However, the more I think about it th more I'm leaning towards Cung le. Of course if it goes to the ground, you have to favor Frank's grappling skills over Cung's considering we haven't really seen them tested before. But what if Frank can't take Cung le down? I don't think he'll be able to. Frank also has decent stand up skills but, similar to Anderson Silva, Le is a different kind of striker. Le also has remarkable takedowns and throws and very good takedown defense as well. I don't see Le finishing this but picking Frank apart on thier feet for the majority of the rounds. Either way, I'm anticipating this one almost as much as these upcoming UFC's.
All Frank Shamrock fights are a Joke! What a waste of such a talent. As soon as Cung starts tagging him up, Frank will do something illegal. He is notorious for finding away out of a fight, with out actually letting his opponent beat him.

I really cant stand this guy. He has amazing talent and skills as a fighter but I really hate him. As much as we bash Ken, he isnt half the idiot that Frank is!
I agree completly John, he makes TITO look like a true champ.
I think Le is FAR overrated, but I sure hope he kills Frank.

Shamrock may not have found a way out of the middle of many fights, but he sure as hell ducked Bas Rutten after he beat Tito. Bas wanted to drop down to middleweight but Shamrock retired to 'go make a living' One must wonder just how much Frank or Ken might have evolved if they hadn't taken substantial layoffs

VM: I think u have seen more K-1 than me, so I ask: How do you think Silva would do in K-1? Phil you might know as well. I just dont follow it close enough to make that assesment. I have never watched a complete event, I just catch all the fights on the NET.
