John...Does anyone give Jon Fitch a hard time for not fighting top 5 or even top 10 guys?? No....they say he should have a title shot.

Bisping is in the UFC.....that is HUGE for any fighter let alone a british one. Bisping is just a puppet just now and does whatever Dana or Joe Silva says....PERIOD!!!

He aint about to upset any of the hierarchy and turn down fights because they are cans.

Like Chuck Lidell, Rampage, Wanderlei, AA etc...Bisping will fight anyone who is put in front of him, even if they are cans.

That is the UFC's decision.
Agreed Auto!! And Bisping has a string of big knockouts as well. My god.....who said Fitch is getting a title shot??? Don't you need to a. knock somone out or b. beat someone who is at least a top 5 contender. The only chance Fitch gets a belt is if he bore's his opponent into submission.....

Bisping is going to shake up the Middle weights. He'll beat Leben and Franklin. C'mon guys....Franklin is gone, he's been surpassed by the next generation of fighters, Bisping included. Silva has shown how many holes Franklin has in his game. Franklin should be looking to Strike Force or Elite XC because he's no longer a genuine title threat in the UFC Middles. He could earn bigger money in these promotions and hold a belt for a few more years at least. Leben is a heavy hitter but he's not droping bombs like Hamill or Evans (both of whom i don't really rate anyway) guys that Bisping has gone toe to toe with. Evans was a former heavy weight and landed a couple of nice hits on Bisping in their match. Put Evans or Hamill against Leben and we'll see where Leben's at. I'm tipping backed into the corner and beaten like a punk.
Bisping is a clever fighter and he's starting his Middle weight campaign in a very conservative fashion. Why not notch up a fight against a middle weight journey man? Look at chicken legs Lesnar, he's gone the other way round and fought a former heavy weight, lost and is now fighting an old broken down man in Coleman, just to notch a win.
I say reaserve your judgement on Bisping, i think we'll see him go through the ranks of the Middle weights in the UFC until he hits the Hendersons and Silvas. From there we'll see what he's made of......
Great write up Automation!
If Bisping were to fight Leben, I would be running over to BetUs to bet my entire account on Chris Leben. Leben has one of the best chins in the business, and Bisping is one of the "softer hitters" around. I don't see Bisping being able to KO Leben. Thier BJJ are probably about the same, and I would think wrestling would go to Leben since he spent so much time training with Team Quest, even though Bisping's wrestling hasn't looked bad, going up against wrestlers at that. I see the fight taking place on its feet the whole time with Bisping landing more shots, but eventually catching Bisping and putting him to sleep.
violent mike i repect you.u r one of the most knowledgable mma fana on this site but i think youve dropped a rick ther.id empty my account and bet it all on bisping submission or decision.(a)bispings jj is way better than lebens who is a glorified brawler(i do like him dont get me wrong)(b)his chins always up in the air.i know bispings not gonna knock him out but he will just set something up with strikes(watch the mcdonald/leben fight)(c)dont get me wrong lebens in a great camp but as soon as he steps in the octagon his gameplan goes out the window anyway he drops his hands and swings for the fences thats why technical guys always have a better chance than strikers/brawlers.by the way thx for acknowledging bispings wrestling.considering he hasnt been training it a quarter of the time evans/hamil has he has held his own.but his forte is jj and kickboxing and i think hed pick leben apart for rnc or guillotine late second.if they ever figt we will find a way to have a bet.interested?
Look, that is when Bisping excels.

The difficulty that Bisping has at the moment, is dealing with wrestlers.

I saw Bisping fighting in Cage Rage where he was brought in a relatively unknown to be a punchbag for the reigning champion at the time (Mark Epstein). Epstein was a hard hard puncher that loved to go toe to toe. Bisping destroyed him and in the subsequent rematch so it wasn't luck.

Look how he dealt with Josh Haynes in TUF3 finale. Leben is a slugger like Haynes.

Bisping has no trouble with hitters, Leben would have trouble with Bisping. I would have Bisping in a TKO win in round 3 with Leben.

Leben hits hard but is slow and totally leaves his chin open all the time. He relies to heavily on his chin which Bisping would happily kick, knee and punch.

It has just been a case of certain fighters out there with skills that totally cancel out the other fighter's skills they are fighting and make that fighter look very plain. These are usually wrestlers against stand ups.

The only problem Bisping has, is his mouth runs with his andrenaline.

Give Bisping a break, I know he says stupid things sometimes but the guy is trying to plug himself at every opportunity and is just saying the wrong things.

He actually fights well.
I would most definitely be interested in betting, but it would depend on the odds BetUs were offering and what you were offering! Alessio Sakara was a LHW, technical striker that droppped to MW. Leben handled him with out any worries. It is a fight that I REALLY want to see, especially since I am a big fan of one of them, and really can't stand the other.
John, I agree and disagree.

Personally I don't know what fights are offered to fighters and what offers are thrown back in Joe Silva's face.

I just think it is disrespectful for any fighter to turn down any fight.

You've got to trust the UFC know what they are doing.

As boring as Rashad is to watch, the UFC think he is good enough to roll with Chuck. Bisping lost a split decision which many think he didn't to that same guy.

Now stop trying to score 3000 posts John by picking on me lol.
I would love to be Mr. 3000, but Its counted on a monthly basis, so I doubt I will reach that figure.

To some extent I agree that you have to trust the UFC, but not in this case. Bisping came out of the TUF show as a popular fighter. Since then, He has been rapidly loosing fans by the minute. He has even lost fans in England. They want him to be England's posterboy, than something is going to have to change. Since TUF, Bisping has lost a ton of fans, and is going to loose more by fighting guys like McCarthy!

John...Does anyone give Jon Fitch a hard time for not fighting top 5 or even top 10 guys?? No....they say he should have a title shot.

That is the UFC's decision.
The UFC should take most of the blame, but not all of it. If I were him, I would have been insulted at being offerd Charles McCarthy. I mean are you kidding me? Bisping headlined the UFC 78 card, and his next fight in an iferior division is against Charles McCarthy? Fighters turn down certain fights all the time. Bisping should have in no way accepted this fight. If he wanted a tune up fight at 185, than he should have faced Alan Belcher, but Charles McCarthy? Come on man! A fighter shouldnt turn down fights against top guys, but in no way should they accept fights against TOOLS, like...you guessed it....Charles McCarthy! When I think of McCarthy, I think of how brutally "The Crow" smashed him!

You want to compare Fitch, who fights whoever is available to Micheal Bisping? Apples and Oranges. Like I said, the UFC is mostly to blame for his weak opponents, but some of the blame is on him. Fighters turn down fights all the time, and I understand that. A true Fighter would not be fighting charles McCarthy. If Bisping was scheduled to fight someone decent and then they got hurt and McCarthy had to fill in, I would understand. But this fight was booked a long ass time ago. No way that Bisping should have taken this fight! UFC 83 is filled with middleweight, pick anyone of them and it would be better than fighting McCarthy.

Like I said, a tune up fight for the middleweight division would have been Belcher...McCarthy is a joke... Then again, Bispings whole career has been one big tune up fight, so why the hell should he get a pass on this fight?
Bisping is in the UFC…..that is HUGE for any fighter let alone a british one. Bisping is just a puppet just now and does whatever Dana or Joe Silva says….PERIOD!!!

He aint about to upset any of the hierarchy and turn down fights because they are cans.

Like Chuck Lidell, Rampage, Wanderlei, AA etc…Bisping will fight anyone who is put in front of him, even if they are cans.

That is the UFC’s decision.
A fighter shouldnt turn down fights against top guys, but in no way should they accept fights against TOOLS, like…you guessed it….Charles McCarthy! When I think of McCarthy, I think of how brutally “The Crow” smashed him!

I liked to see "The Crippler" knock Bisbing back down to a smaller org. It seems liked he never fights anyone with stand up game. Will someone test his chin Please!

I WOULD OF RATHER SEE BISPING VS CHONAN BUT I GUESS JOE SILVA IS TO MUCH OF A PUSSY TO GIVE BISPING A REAL OPPONENT
Chonan is now fighting at WW
maybe a match down the road should be with fellow TUF3 fighter Kalib Starnes, thats if they both win on the same fightcard in Montreal. another TUF3 fighter i would like to see him against is Ed shortfuse Herman.hes also on the same csrd.IMO those 2 were the best 185ers from that season.if Starnes losses then a fight with Nate rock Quarry would be pretty entertaining.i dont know any thing about demian maia.
but i hope ShortFuse finishes him in the 1st or 2nd so that they show the fight.
