The first and second episodes of the new season will feature elimination matches to determine the final 16 contestants who will live in the house and compete for the “six-figure” contract. It’s a new wrinkle designed to revitalize the traditional format.
Here’s a snip from UFC President Dana White:
“The new format will give us two incredibly intense episodes to launch the season and will weed out some of the guys who might not have the heart and desire that it takes to become a UFC fighter.”
In addition, Meltzer reiterates that there is some heat between Jackson and Griffin on the upcoming season, which is a bit odd to hear because the two are basically big clowns outside the Octagon. Whether or not the beef is contrived to hype their eventual title fight at UFC 86 on July 5 remains to be seen.
Either way it looks like we’re in for an interesting season of TUF that weeds out the bad seeds from the get-go and showcases more fights. I’m down for that.

cool first on this post.
At least we’ll see some fights right off. I like that new format, should make some interesting match ups plus everyone gets to gauge the competion right off.
Also the coaches can see who they want. This is better than running around and sparring because someone could be great in the gym but stink in the cage (Joe Riggs comes to mind.)
I don’t know any of these guys. Anybody on this list to watch out for? You guys willing to pick your favorites?
watch out for cb(clarence) dalloway. look it up 17 second slam for ko.
At least we’ll see some fights right off. I like that new format, should make some interesting match ups plus everyone gets to gauge the competion right off.
Oh yeah, I forgot to say that I’m really happy they changed the format. Not only do we get to see more fights, it will boost the level of competition. Should be fun.
Well first off, I’M SECOND POST YESSSSSSSSS! Anyway just wanted to do that but IMO I don’t care about the fighters in this upcoming season cause lets be real who in that list of 32 has a chance aganist the spider,no one, not never I ‘m just can’t wait till forrest and page I’m sick of all these belts being on hold, interim belts, champs getting injured, etc.I am pulling for rampage in this one I like forrest like the rest of you but I want to see Chuck vs Rampage 3, It mite be like the first two but I think this will be the fight of the decade with chuck and his new “eye of the tiger” look in his eyes I think it will be a great fight.Something like hendo/page.
Jeremiah Riggs is probably related to Joe Riggs.
Steve Byrnes fought in the UFC before
i’d watch out for Prince LaDonas Mclean… because he’s either badass royalty, or the newest incarnation of Prince

lol..scroll down to the bottom of this page to see your boy the PRINCE..http://www.damagewear.com/mma-fighters.htm
cb dalloway is pretty good, check him out, all american wrestler.
Wasn’t Cale Yarbrough a NASCAR driver in the 80s and 90s?
yeah Paul Bradley was an all amercian at Iowa…Mike Dolce foguht in the IFL and is Ed Herman and other Teams Quests strenght and conditioning coach, some of those names sound familiar, but I cant tell if its from mma or wrestling
From the list of names, it would appear that a few may be relatives of todays fighters…?
I do hope this season has some characters on it. Like Leban wizzing on wotshisname’s bed…haha
Or that dumbass Rory who wizzed on buddy’s equip but it wuz the wrong guy…etc
Hmmm PP theme here… time to go see the therapist again.
The Championship fight is what I’m really looking forward to here.
If Forrest is to win the Crown, he’s going to have to put up the fight of his life, while conversly, this will be the toughest challenge to Rampage’s reign as King of the light-heavies.
Watch out for Dante Rivera. He’s a Ricardo Almeida guy. He has great hands and is a BJJ brown belt with plenty of fights in top east coast circuits and in the IFL.

The Worst things to happen to the show:
- Getting rid of the challenges
- Allowing every fighter to stay in the house after they lose
- Having Matt Hughes coach for a second time
- Gabe Reudiger
- Noah Inhofer

holy crap, i completely forgot about the challenges. they were awesome and so competitive. letting the fighter stay in the house benefits in a few ways. you now have training partners who do not matter if they get hurt. also, i read somewhere that in past seasons, a few fighters may have leaked some infor about the show and lost their “secret” money.
hughes second time coach = very bad idea
gabe reudiger = lazy, ass penetrated fool
noah inhofer was not that bad, he did bring a good street fight to the show. maybe replace his name with andy wang, or danny abbadi.

I have to disagree with the challenges…they were really not needed…I think Rich Franklin is the reason they are gone, also Leben….for the most part is what better to just throw the challenges so your guys were fresh, like when Matt Hughes damn near killed Joe Stevenson, to only have Rich laugh and say he forfits…plus they were just one more way for fighters to get hurt before a fight
cant see anyone in that pic, but it looks like Burger King is the sponsor…
Some of you negative Nancys are gonna be surprised…this is gonna be the best season yet! fighting for your spot is gonna lead to some great TV. I know a couple of these characters and I can tell you this…you may not know them now but you will by the third week…You can look forward to alot of smack talk…Also the yahoo writer got a few records wrong..theres more fight experience than you might think..
WOW! mike Dolce, i saw him fight in the IFL and he was actually pretty good. i can’t wait to see how he does.

If I had it my way, I would bring back the challenges. Get away from all the house non-sense (ratings boosters) and either bring back the challenges or show more of the fighter training. I am a college student, and even I am getting sick of all the stupid partying and idiots trying to smash the walls with their heads (although when Mike burnett did it, it was funny as hell)
The Buddy that went AWOL for some Kitty kat, was funny as hell. How could Dana blame him for that? He should have been givin a pass! lol
Gabe Rudiger being 20 lbs over weight and eating all types of cakes on a daily basis was priceless!
Monsta Lobsta doesnt get bashed enough on this site? the guy basically went on the show to promote his restaurant….I mean COME ON!!!!
I am willing to give Noah a pass, for throwing up some tight Triangles while getting slamed in a street fight.
But the other Noah, who left the house because his girlfreind of 6 months thought that he was cheating, has to be the biggest tool in TUF history!
The most priceless line in show history, was Ed “the red headed step child” Herman constantly telling the world: “Not only am I the best fighter in the house, but I am the best looking as well”… LMFAO!
Yo Mania ! give us an update of the Jacare Souza situation… for a while he was slated to be on this show right?…. he’d obviously walk through all of em’ ….so wheres he at ?
Where is the love at for DREAM inagural sohw featuring Cro Cop vs. A Can and the lightweight grand prix? Its only a week away! World Victory Roads Sengoku wasnt available on pay per view in the USA. Anyone know if DREAM will be available here in the states? DREAM is the former Heros, which is K-1. I never purchased a Hero’s or K-1 event on pay per view, so can anyone tell me if they are available here in the USA, or were the events that took place on US soil only made available on pay per view?
16 man lightweight Grand Prix:
-Tatsuya Kawajiri vs. Kultar “Black Mamba” Gill
-Shinya Aoki vs. Gesias “JZ” Calvancante
-Mitsuhiro Ishida vs. Jung Bu-Kyung
-Joachim Hansen vs. Koutetsu Boku
-Kazuyuki Miyata vs. Luiz “Buscape” Firmino
-Andre “Dida” Amade vs. Eddie Alvarez
-Artur Oumakhanov vs. Katsuhiko Nagata
Non-Tournament Bouts:
-Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic vs. Yoshihiro Nakao
-Hayato “Mach” Sakurai vs. Hidetaka Monma
Sucks that Gilbert Melendez withdrew from the lightweight tournament to defend his B.S strikeforce title against Chute Box’s ju jitsu coach. I was looking forward to gilbert in the Grand Prix, I cant blame him though, he has a big name over there in Japan, and he wants to build his name over here in the states! It still sucks though!
Patrick Schultz (0-3) FTW baby.

rumor has it that Rampage fights a contestant of the show
great sponsor to have for an athletic event/reality show… burger king lol so if you eat whoppers you can become just like these guys… i wonder what their slogan is, the hardest hitting burgers of the UFC? lol lol
I saw Dante Rivera fight in Jersey once (he was the Reality Fighting 185 champ at the time but lost to Mike Massenzio, who basically took him down and laid on him). I also met him after he had a jiu jitsu superfight against my instructor. He has great jiu jitsu and he’s a nice guy. I look forward to seeing how he pans out.
That’s the wrong Pat Schultz, he’s actually 7-1-1 not 0-3.
Burger King has to be one of the worst sponsors I can imagine. I’ve gone training before on a day I usually stay home, was pretty spontaneous and that day was the rare day I had a burger king (only have about 2 a year)… man, that stuff gives you no energy nor does it taste good as it repeats on you when your on the heavy bags. the horror. the… horror.

I agree and disagree with you ViolentMike
1- the challenges have nothing to do with fighting and, the fighters can potentially injur themselves picking up boxes of water bottles and running up stairs and shit ( that while entartaining and fun to watch is not the best idea for fighters, they could get all burnt out and perform badly in the actual training and fighting).
2- Allowing the fighters to stay is like a 50/ 50, some dont deserve to stay because they just fuck around and dont help the other contestants train kinda like what happened to Lutter but, others who actually have the desire to train and the heart to continue like Lauzon and others that after loosing keep training hard and help the others absolutely should stay.
3- Matt Hughes very very entertaining, in season 2 when him and Rich where coaches was very cool, that one episode when Franklin forfits that challenge was awesome( although read #1), and the last one was funny with the whole Serra thing and the Queen.
4-Gabe Ruidiger dude how can you not want this guy there that show was one of the funniest ever specialy because of Gabe “cake ” Ruidiger the dude was a disgrace and hillarious when he was calling out “B”, “B” put me back in hahaha priceless. But in shere commitment and desire to be the best you are right he shouldnt of been there.
5- Noah absolutely agree with you also Allen Berube wtf was he doing on that show.

I don’t know if beating Rashad Evans earns you a title shot, does it? This fight may be more likely to happen if Forrest beats Rampage. Could go like this for Chuck (that’s “overrated chucky” to chucksux): Beat Rashad. Beat the former champ who knocked you out. Beat the new poster-boy champ. Defend your title against Jardine. Retire.
I actually had the misfortune to run into Gabe at a bar in Mandalay Bay for UFC79 I was disgusted by looking at him, hoping some day I have the opportunity that he had and not fuck it up like that fat ass did.

Gabe number one all time FOR SURE, what a piece of work he is. Hughes second stint too, but seeing his team get killed for most of the show was absolutely priceless. Challenges I can do with or without. But Noah, he could actually fight a lil, I’d swap him with “Serra’s boy” Joey… at least Noah left for some ass, lame but more understandable then Joey leaving because he couldn’t handle “it” anymore. Guy burnt his bridge with the UFC and Serra, he couldn’t even just show up and help train the guys when that’s what his everyday job was back in NY with Serra JJ.
I’m pumped to see all those fights in just two episodes. Awesome way to start the season.

8 fights in two episodes is gonna be tight. Letting fighters stay in the house is one of the best ideas they had on the show look at season two when Marcus Davis lost early in the show he coulda made a great sparring partner for anyone on the trying to improve their standup and the challanges were stupid remember that one when they had em sittin in the cage tryin to pull each others socks off

Uh-oh, Kavedaddy. Mac Danzig is gonna come after you for badmouthing Andy Wang.
Come on, John. Stealing my joke before I could say it.
I think that Gabe was good comedy on that show. While I do like the Ed Herman quote that was mentioned, I thought it was hilarious when Gabe was crying about his weight. BJ told him to give 100% in the gym and his teammate (Monsta?)told him to “stop giving 100% in the kitchen.”
Yeah, Im actually really interested to see this season. I know Rampage’s camp is gonna bring a lot of passion to this, and Im really wondering who Forrest is gonna bring in (bux says we will see Bonnar on this show frequently.) Aside from that, outside of Schultz, I dont recognize any of these cats off hand, doesnt mean they wont be great fights though. But 205 is a hard weight class to fight at for up and coming MMA fighters… usually just soggies that cut minimal weight when if they were in professional form, they’d prolly be fighting 185.
Forrest Griffin looks way taller and bigger than Rampage.

A few things interesting about this season is
A. There are about 3 team gurgel guys on this show. They must be doing something good down in Cincinatti.
B. Dave Roberts (who fought in the UFC before) is best friends with Rampage and is the reason rampage got into MMA. Interesting to see if he does move on if he is on his team.
i know mike dolce fights out of team quest in oregon.
I wonder if Gaybe cries every time he reads threads like this. His crying fatass will never die on here.

hughes second time coach = very bad idea
gabe reudiger = lazy, ass penetrated fool
noah inhofer was not that bad, he did bring a good street fight to the show. maybe replace his name with andy wang, or danny abbadi.
That’s the wrong Noah. Noah Inhofer was that lil bitch that won his first fight and then went home because he had thoughts that his girlfriend of two months was cheating on him.
haha no, Noah went home because his girlfriend wrote him a letter saying she thinks HE CHEATED ON HER, haha which is even a worse reason to leave…atleast the other way, he could say hes leaving to kick someones ass…
ifl reunion tour
this is the greatest show on tv and now we all get to see at least one new fight a week might not be ne good but its still a fight
Hopefully one of these guys will eventually become the next big thing.

This is the shit.

This change in format is the best thing to ever happen to the show!
The Worst things to happen to the show:
- Getting rid of the challenges
- Allowing every fighter to stay in the house after they lose
- Having Matt Hughes coach for a second time
- Gabe Reudiger
- Noah Inhofer
Don’t forget buddy that went AWAL to get some action…and let’s not forget Joey the cry baby.
I thought the challenges were pretty cool but some were lame.
Keeping the guys in the house after they lose is only good because they don’t really give a crap after that and cause chaos….chaos = ratings
How bout
-Ed Herman always wining about how Tito didn’t pick him
-Matt Hughes shaking his head in the interview after Jared Rollins lost
-Gray Maynard saying how Wayne Weems “..could freak out and go crazy on someone.. not me but someone..”
I think that they should have a separate house for the losers so that they can still train and don’t distract the people who are still in the competition.
This show has been dreadful since they let bozo’s on, about season 2. Hopefully they all lose somehow.
Rampage gets punked.
My real early pick to win the whole thing would have to be
Luke Zachrich
does anyone know what happens to the winner eg.. guaranteed title shot against silva? is it like the other seasons where you get a title shot or just contract this time

I agree 100%. Most of the drama in the house comes from the guys who have already lost. They train and get drunk and wait to go home. Some casees they fuck with the fighters that might not like that still have a shot to win it all…..
Lose and go home thats my take on it>>>>
Forrest looks alot bigger than Rampage.

I thought that too!
cool first on this post.

Well first off, I’M SECOND POST YESSSSSSSSS!
OMG 67th post or maybe 83rd!!! You count it cause I won’t. Who the f’n cares? At least smokesuttin added something relevant even if he can’t count.
I fully expect this season to be one laugh riot to the next. Both of them seem to have a great sense of humor. I hope Rampage does a few impressions of fighters for us! Sadly though I don’t see Rampage being beat by Griffon.
Mike Dolce is A Team Quest fighter out of Portland. He has been training with Matt Lindland and his crew for years now, as well as fighting for the IFL(Wolf pack). He’ll be one to watch.
Sounds like a cool format. My only complaint is the retarded, obligitory trashing of the house. Okay, I know most of you guys probably enjoy watching the contestants “blow off some steam” but it’s getting old. We are told that in order to get them disciplined and ready to fight, they can’t watch TV, make phone calls, go online or write letters. Busting holes in the walls, pising on the carpet and destroying property. Thats showing discipline?.
Admittedly, I enjoy a lot of the drama but at the end of the day I’m an MMA fan. Fight already!
great sponsor to have for an athletic event/reality show… burger king lol so if you eat whoppers you can become just like these guys… i wonder what their slogan is, the hardest hitting burgers of the UFC? lol lol
What about Barrera when his wife told him she thought she was dying and he said “eat some cottage cheese or some cheetos”. Who needs Web M.D. when you have Dan Barrera.
Forest looks a lot bigger than rampage on that picture.
Matt Riddle will win it all

Jesse taylor and Amir ftw. The fighters are told by the producers to break the house, but only if they are on camera. If I was stuck in that house for 40 days with people like Mac Danzig and no tv, books, phone, internet, or sex I would ask for gasoline for that house.
Matt Riddle will take it all. the New York Nite Train gonna run some mother fuckas over!
Cale Yarbrough? Wtf? isn’t he like 80 nice to see Nascar and UFC uniting HAHA.
Ladonas Mclean, watch out for him, he is a dangerous man.
Hey utaptout, guess you dint see Dante’s face after the massenzio fight, he got brutally beat up and took a beating from “massenzio just laying” on top of him
