“One that would be big for my heart and soul would be Josh Koscheck. The number one question that everyone always asks me is, ‘When are you going to kick that Josh Koscheck’s ass?’ So hopefully, maybe in June or July, we can go ahead and set that fight up.”
“The Nightmare,” unsurprisingly, wants to avenge his miserable-looking, staph infection-induced unanimous decision loss to Josh Koscheck at UFC 69: “Shootout” back in April 2007 now that he’s snapped a two-fight losing skid. Sanchez recently defeated David Bielkheden via technical knockout at UFC 82: “Pride of a Champion.” For “Kos” and Sanchez this would be their third encounter if it happens — Sanchez topped Koscheck in an exhibition match on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF). However, Koscheck’s contract is up and he will need to sign an extension before any bouts including him are booked inside the Octagon.

Kos couldn’t even finish Diego with a staph infection. There’s no phucking way he’ll survive a healthy and improved Diego!
Sanchez would win it too. He has never been finished nor at all dominated despite those two losses. He will fight for the title possibly at the beginning of ‘09 with a couple of wins.
GO SANCHEZ!!
i think Kos is just too talented and the skills that aren’t his strengths are developing in just that.

Improved he’s on a hot 1 win streak
KOS would own DS again…Kos skills have skyrocketed, while Diego has just improved. KOS would own this fight standing or on the ground. And for all you haters that say kos is all Lay and pray…know you MMA, it’s part of the game…and order the damn fights, watch Kos fight, his last 3 fights were 85% standing. LOVE HIM OR HATE HIM HE WILL BE ON TOP SOON!!!!!!
This fight has to happen. Both fighters just fought at the same event so would be ready to fight again at the same time. Personally, I give Koschek no credit whatsoever for his win against Diego in their last fight. Diego suffered from a horrible staph infection that was so serious that DR’s thought it was hepititis, that days leading up the fight Diego was told he had to retire…luckily it wasnt as serious as they initially thought.
I am not a big fan of Diego’s but I have a lot of respect for his skills and heart. he shouldnt have even been fighting that night, but he did, he put his undefeated streak on the line against a tough fighter, while he was no where near 100%. Koschek was still scared to engage with him and Koschek was terrified of the fight going to the ground.
Before, I am ready to accept Koschek as a top 5 fighter, I have to see him defeat a healthy Diego. That win was what launched Kos, leading him to get a shot at #1 contender at the time GSP. With out that win over Diego, Kos would have never been given the GSP fight.
This fight has to happen. Marketing for this fight would be great. They each hold a win over the other. Diego beat Kos on TUF 1 when Kos was a wrestler who didnt even know how to throw a punch. Koschek then beat Diego when he was half dead.
Lets put an end to this Saga and lets find out who the better man is once and for all.
Koscheck needs to resign with UFC first plus he broke his thumb within the first minute of his fight with Hazelett so he’ll need some time to heal.
This would make for a hellofva rematch. I can’t imagine what would happen at the weigh-in this time around after the last time these two met. Diego is going to come to the octgagon with fire in his eyes. I think this fight is hard to predict because both fighters have evolved so much even since their last meeting.
I think Koscheck has really improved his striking a lot since the TUF show and he really knows how to let them go at the right time. Hopefully he can do that against Diego this time because during their last fight Koscheck relied on the jab way too much but I can see why he did…they went unanswered for the most part. This fight won’t even remotely resemble the last fight these two had. It’s hard to make a solid prediction here if it becomes a reality.
It’s always nice to see two loud mouthed, over confident fighters than genuinely hate each other and have controversy over their first two fights go at it in a rubber match of sorts. No need to really sink any money into promoting this fight…it’ll take care of itself. A win for either of these guys puts them right up there in the top 5 of the division. The winner should face the winner of Swick/Davis unless Kos and Swick both win cause they’re teamates.
That would be a good idea, and I was actually thinking the same thing last week if they were to both win their fights. So far, I pretty much agree with everything that was said by John and Buster Bluth. However, I do not agree with:
KOS would own DS again…Kos skills have skyrocketed, while Diego has just improved.
I think that a healthy Diego would be the favorite in the third. I agree 100% that Kos’s skills have improved much more since the show than Diego’s. However, during the show, Diego’s SKILL was light year’s beyond Kos’s. So now its a matter of has Kos’s fast learning since TUF brought him up to the skill level of the steadily improving Diego? I do not know the answer to this question and am very interested to find out.
Make it happen!

Great statement…however Kos is now on a different level then SD. SD is a head case which sometimes plays in his favor, however in this case I believe it works against him. He will be so jack for this fight, he will lose his composure and intelligences (if SD has any J/k)
Kos all the way in this one
diego is a toolbox
KOS by KO
KOS by KO
Great statement considering Diego has been knocked out….NEVER!
i like dego in the rematch as well.
I think it will be the same result, Ko’s will pepper Diego with quick punches and win a boring fight with his hand speed.

So’s Kos.
remember that time Kos took GSP 3 rounds? you really think diego could come close to beating him?
If Kos can keep it standing i think he could KO sanchez. Diego never really impressed me with his standup but Kos seems to get better standup with every fight. He used to just have his loping right but now hes throming kicks, combos and knees. However on the ground Diego has a really good chance of submitting Kos. KOS by KO.
kos has his number.

And that’s because Kos is scared to take Diego down to the ground. SO in order for Diego to get a win, he is going to need to get Kos to the ground. This may be a good time to rekindle his relationship with Greg Jackson. GSP would be able to teach him a thing or two about putting Kos on his back!
I say lets throw this on an Ultimate Fight Night card or the TUF 7 finale think of the ratings.

Well said!
For all the fans like me, who havent seen the Arlovski/O’brien and Diego/Beilkheden fights at ufc 82 because they are too cheap, or do not feel that they should have to pay the UFC an additional $2 per fight, for fightst hat took place during an event that we already purchased:
I have finally found the Arlovski/O’brien and the Sanchez/Beilkeheden video’s
They are both posted on http://www.myvideofight.com should look to the left side of the website.
Warning:
The Arlovski fight is broken down into 2 video’s: Part 1 and Part 1. Part 1 is the 1st round, which no one should waste their time watching. O’brien did nothing but shoot for takedowns that Arlovski was stuffing with ease for the 1st 3:30 minutes of round 1. Then AA ended up on his back but O’brien did NOTHING whatsoever, and AA split the top of his head open with an elbow….VERY VERY BORING! Dont waste your time with part 1.
Part 2 is the second round, not very exciting, O’brien refused to engage. In the last minute of the round O’brien was trying to take Arlovski down but ended up on his Back with Andre Mounted on top, and O’brien basically quit!
After watching that fight I have come to a conclusion that Jake O’brien is a disgrace and should never fight in the UFC again! Not once did he remotly attempt to do anything that would make the fight close to exciting…This guy has to go back to college wrestling or something, because it is not what the fans want to see. The fight was actually a heavyweight version of Burkman/Swick only it had an ending.

does anybody really care about these two overrated clowns? they both lost their last fights against top competition, and now that they just beat a couple of tomato cans everybody is ranting about them, give me a break…
Did you watch the fights saturday? Kos is lucky he didn’t get knocked out by that youngster. He almost did and anyone who says otherwise doesn’t know what they are talking about. Not saying diego has those kinda hands but Kos was lucky to survive against a 21 or 22 year old. Watch the replay and think about it. Imagine what JSP or even BJPenn would do to him. Just my opinion, dont jump my a$$ for it.

Dustin Hazelett is far from a tomato can. He showed he belongs in the UFC and deserves a shot at another legit fighter. I would lie to see him fight Chris Wilson, who also belongs here in the UFC.
Hopefully they will atleast put this match on the main card..
i know it was boring last time and both werent on the main card this passed ufc but come on please let us see this match!

A decision loss to GSP (Koscheck) and a split decision loss to No. 1 contender Fitch (Sanchez) are hardly anything to send them tumbling into the land of Whocares.
I think there is no question who has improved the most since their collision on the Ultimate Fighter, Josh Koscheck. Koscheck definatly has the advantage in the wrestling game, possibly on the feet aswell. He is also nearly 20 lbs (estimation) than Sanchez. Kos’s skill set is a very difficult one for Dieago to overcome. If Diego does win it will be by a submission right when Koscheck is over extended on a takedown or if he catches Kos with a big right hand. Koscheck can win if he takes him down and methoudacly grounds and pounds him or if he keeps it on the feet and uses his reach.
This fight makes sense….let’s hope there are some fireworks this time!
does anybody really care about these two overrated clowns? they both lost their last fights against top competition, and now that they just beat a couple of tomato cans everybody is ranting about them, give me a break…
Why does one loss make these guys overrated clowns?
Diego lost to Fitch by a split decision.
Kos got worked by GSP UD.
You can’t write them off for one loss.
They are both top ranked fighters who are still in it.
I like Diego in this fight, feet or ground it don’t matter.
Koscheck, while having much improved standup, still has very sloppy standup. I see Diego taking him down during one of those haymakers and submitting him.
Even though Diego is kinda weird he’s an exciting fighter. He doesn’t try to eak out a decision like Fitch. Kos, I agree he’s improved. But his only stand up is a jab then a big right that always seems like he just swings it, not very technical, and even when it lands all his opponents seem to take it well so maybe not alot of power? Oh and an ok leg kick now and then. Still with all of Diego’s weirdness I’m rooting for him, better striking, submissions, and intensity.
I liken Kos’ fight with GSP and Sanchez’ fight with Fitch as “mid-term exams” to see where they are in their development. I think both showed vast improvement from their immediate post-TUF series days, so I think its only a matter of time before each elevate their games to a point where they can be called legitimate contenders.
That said, I’d love to see Kos/Sanchez III, with both healthy, it’d be a war.

Yeah, like maybe becoming a larger human being.
Kos would have never wrestled GSP, they are not in the same wrestling wieght class, and weight in wrestling, means everyhting. Kos is way smaller than GSP, if GSP outwrestles Fitch, someone in his wrestling weight-class, then I will be impressed. Really, GSP threw around two smaller fighters, (kos, hughes) in his last 2 fights. GSP is a huge 170′lb fighter who gets a full day to gain his weight back, not around 2 hours like in wrestling competition.
i see kos winning again
I think Diego knocks Kos out if it turns into a brawl, but in a outside range fight, kos will win. I think Diego should get in the clinch and even get taken down, because Diego ground game is still better than Koz.
a rematch between these 2 would be awesome, not because they are great but because they hate eachother. dont get me wrong they are both pretty good, just not ready for the top5 yet.

Dear blah,
I’m not disagreeing with GSP out wrestler Kos…that wasn’t my point…and I also don’t think Kos is at his level of GSP YET. I think a number of reason played into the fact that GSP out wrestler Kos…Kos game plan was to stand, he didn’t think GSP would take him down, wanted to proof his stand up, and got very frustrated. Your bring up a whole different argument. Just an FYI for you, I’ve been following MMA for many many years, not a newbie like most. While we are on the topic of GSP (which I think is the damn good fighter top 2 or 3 in the world) Kos took 3 rounds and wasn’t in any danger of being called….not many fighter can say that….he has came a long ways and will continue to become an elite fighter.

GSP
Karo,Serra
Fitch, Diego,Burkman
Davis,Hughs, Koscheck, Mike Swick,
Thiago Alves,Chris Wilson,Hazlette, Ryo Chonan, Goulet
I know I am gonna catch Hell but thats where I feel they are on the pyramid…
i hate Dirty Sanchez.Hope Josh beats him again if this happens. Sanchez best bet would be cut another 15lbs and he might have an ok carrer.(unless he has to fight B.J.)
don’t forget that Kos trains with tough ass Fitch who also whupped Diego’s ass in the last two bouts ago. Diego fights too rough and throws sloppy strikes i like how he charges and takedown but needs to improve his ground n pound strikings and fight smarter.
I’m not sure a 100% diego could beat a 100% koscheck. Diego counts on his wrestling to beat his opponent, he fails when he fights someone stronger, more athletic and a better wrestler than him self. Most of his past fights he’s manhandled his opponents which he couldn’t do with fitch and koscheck. He’s sort of like hughes and counts on his superior strength to win, he’d have trouble with matt hughes, fitch, koscheck and st.pierre, all very strong welter weights. I feel if he fought koscheck again he’d lose again.

u got it thats a perfect statement i hate kos but compared to dirty diego ill b hopeing he knocks that dirty punk out
well sorry but i still cant figure out what your point was then, but mine was simply to rebuttal ur saying that KOS skills have “skyrocketed”. I brought up the GSP fight because i really didnt see any SKYROCKETING improvments from KOS when it truly mattered, my point was that he didnt even give him a challenge much less a threat! Nothing personal though… ~blah
kos got even lucky on that kick, if that kick didnt hit dustin, then dustin would hold him in the ground, coz koschek went down on the mat when he threw that high kick & dustin too badly didnt able to blocked it, as same scenario when ken shamrock throw a highkick against franklin & went down, but franklin blocked it & he capitalized ken’s mistake & won the fight
“The Nightmare,” unsurprisingly, wants to avenge his miserable-looking, staph infection-induced unanimous decision loss
how biased can you get? he may have had a staph infection but it didn’t cause his “miserable-looking” loss. his fear of Kos did that.
KOS has the potential of running through anybody in WW, except, of course, GSP. He would OWN #2 ranked Fitch if they were ever to fight
I think this next fight would look way different than last fight. Diego’s ground game is on another level from Kos, wrestling or not. Kos wanted no part of Diego on the ground last fight and wanted no part of Hazelette on the ground either. He has great wrestling but his Jujitsu is seriously lacking. I strongly believe Diego would beat Kos in a ground war and probably finish him.
So if they fought again I see Kos using the same strategy. Look to outbox him and keep the fight standing. The difference though will be Diego’s agressiveness. He will come right after Kos and continue to try and force it into a ground war. Diego is getting stronger and stronger and his BJJ is getting tighter and tighter. He will be ready. I think that Diego would win the rubber match if it happens.
With all that being said, Kos is still a very dangerous opponent for Diego and I dont think he should be in such a hurry to fight him again. I say Diego should just take it as it comes. Fight whoever the UFC puts infront of you. Rack up the W’s and sooner or later Im sure your paths will cross again. And when its time then worry about it. But if it happens next, Im taking the Nightmare!

No problem fellas! Keep this link in mind, it is my favorite mma video site. when you click on the “other rings” tab, it will provide a ton of fights involving mma stars, from when they were in smaller promotions… I caught some great fights out of that section like:
Huerta vs. Melvin Guillard
Nate Diaz vs. Hermes Franca
Shinya Akoi vs. George Sotirpolous
and all kinds if interesting matches, I never knew took place!
This site is always being updated with new fights. Usually about 2 days after a pay per view they start to up load the undercard fights.
ENJOY!!!

And that’s because Kos is scared to take Diego down to the ground. SO in order for Diego to get a win, he is going to need to get Kos to the ground. This may be a good time to rekindle his relationship with Greg Jackson. GSP would be able to teach him a thing or two about putting Kos on his back!
Is Fitch really THAT much bigger than Hughes and Kos??? Sure, he was a fat ass after college, but I don’t know.

KOS by KO
Great statement considering Diego has been knocked out….NEVER!
I would have to say that KOS does have more KO power but I’m a Sanchez fan and not too fond of KOS but recognize his skills and have to say this would be a great fight.
KOS has the potential of running through anybody in WW, except, of course, GSP. He would OWN #2 ranked Fitch if they were ever to fight
It’s too bad that they won’t because their butt buddies
when M.quick Swick dropped down to 170 he was asked about fighting in the same div. as team mates Kos & Fitch. he said the 3 of them would have no problem fighting each other if it was for a title.they are all true pros.i hate it when team mates or freinds refuse to fight each other.S.Smith vs. P.Sell was awseome and they became friends on TUF 4 before they fought.i would like to see P.filo vs. A.Silva, but they are T-mates and dont want to fight eachother.
Well said and right on the money.

The direct link to the video of the 2nd round of the Arlovski fight is:

thanks for the link. yes it was very boring but i STILL wanted to see it. obien looked like crap and a.a. looks like he might have lost that killer instinct, but yet he keeps wiining. he needs someone who will really push to fight harder. either he will rise ro rhe occasion or fold like a lawn chair. big nog or an improved herring should provide these answers. as far as kos and diego i would love too see them in a 5rnd fight. diego needs a 5rndr bad. i wish the ufc would change its standings and let top 10 contenders fight 5rndrs. then again it might not be up to them it might be up to the nsac.
the arlovski fight was boring…. it mostly was …until the end when andrei swept jake and pounded his ass and even looked at the ref and say… are you gonna stop it!!!! good shit… watch the fight yall

Fitch is HUGE for 170, he is way bigger than Hughes and Kos. Remember how he made diego look like a little kid in their fight?
Diego on the rematch.
yea i wanna see a diego kos 3 im goin with diego
