The fight between UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, and Forrest Griffin is set for UFC 86 on July 5, according to a report from Dave Meltzer at WrestlingObsever.com that was passed along via BloodyElbow.com.
The match up has been known for sometime now; however, the date, event number and location was unknown until this most recent news.
Jackson and Griffin are currently serving as opposing coaches on the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7, which is set to debut on April 2 on the SpikeTV network. It’s a pairing of two extremely charismatic and colorful personalities who never seem to take themselves to seriously (sans the Griffin in-ring meltdown after the loss to Keith Jardine.)
However, Melzter also recently reported that Jackson and Griffin get into a heated confrontation at some point during this season — something that perhaps doesn’t seem possible, but certainly will add some fireworks if indeed accurate leading up to the Independence Day weekend event.
Both fighters used the taping of the show to recover from injuries in their most recent bouts. Rampage hurt his hand training for his winning performance against Dan Henderson and Griffin underwent shoulder surgery after his sensational upset victory over Mauricio “Shogun” Rua.
With the long layoffs and madness that comes along with being a TUF coach, it’s safe to say that Rampage and Griffin will come to bang when fight night finally arrives.

I can not wait. I hope Griffin wins but it will be a massive test.
rampage’s ass is to be whooped..
who was bleedin?????????????not rampage!!!!!!!!!!who got hit more?????????????????????am i the only one that thought the fight was rigged????????????????
I would not say that the fight was rigged simply because I don’t want to lose respect for MMA like i did with boxing. However, I do believe that Dana White had a hand in this whole thing, and more than likely influenced the judges to give the fight to Forrest if the fight was close. This is simply a repeat of Hammil vs Bisping in the UK. That fight was also shady because the UFC did not want Bisping to lose in his own back yard. I have respect for Forrest because of his work ethic, and I do believe the fight was close just not enough to give it to Forrest. I am extremely disapointed with the result, and hope that the UFC does not continue with this tradition of giving fight to the most popular fighters. They will simply fall out like most of the boxing federations.
I guess your dreams did not come true because this was a close fight. In the end, Forrest was beat-up a whole lot more than Rampage. Rematch!!!
Yeah, i guess you could say forrest was “beat-up a whole lot more than rampage.”… from the looks on the outside. But tell me something, have you ever been in a mma fight? lol. If you have, which i doubt, you would know damage is delt A LOT more worse to the inside of the body (i.e. ribs which rampage got his fucked up) than it is to the out. But i can agree with you on a rematch. I’d love to see griffin, (though not my fav fighter) to beat jackson again. He is over-rated and that’s the truth.
Forrest WON!
THIS WAS MY GREATEST UFC NITE OF MY LIFE SO FAR. IT WAS THE BEST WATCHING SOMEONE’S DREAM COME TRUE. YOU KNOW THIS HAS BEEN THE BEST NITE OF HIS LIFE.
It is hard to write off Griffin because he improves so much in every fight. (I do believe he onlt lost to Jardine because he was wreckless)
Rmpage Is going TO FUCK Forrest Up BAD!!!!!!!!!
Forest fights alot like Wanderlei Silva and we know how well Rampage did against Wanderlei - LOST TWICE BY DEVASTATING KOs
yeah forrest fights like the axe murderer lol thats funny cause yeah he does attack but he doesn’t even come close to the power that silva has you must have just started watchin ufc when bonner vs griffin happened and became a bandwagon griffin fan and cried yourself to sleep when jardine put griffin to sleep zzzzzzzzz
of course people became a fan of griffins on the griffin-bonner fight. who didn’t? and everybody looses. fuck jardine. he is just a little bitch. forrest all the way. shut up all the haters.
Jackson is a pussy he got chuck with a lucky punch at 71 and better prey they dont go for a second round in the octagon.
wow get off chuckys balls yeah he had a great run at being champ but he is overrated and getting to be over the hill
chuck is the best man..
Poor Forrest. But I guess you never know.
I hate waiting so long for a title fight but Forrest should bring it. He looks better each fight he’s in and adapts very quickly. I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes the belt home with him.
how does he look better with every fight he has only 2 fights under his belt since he was put to sleep by jardine.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
im just glad its here and it will be 1 hell of a head bangig fist fight
hope rampage finishes him off with a knockout
P.S Don’t forget the Couture Factor - he seems to have a game plan for everyone and Forrest definately listens and executes.
wow how does forrest plan to beat rampage in this match with “the cotoure factor” is he going to have cotoure in the cage helping him hold rampage down while griffin punches him cause even then i still don’t see griffen with enough power to be able to knock out rampage.
I would like to see Forrest win, shake things up a bit. But I like Rampage in this fight, but never count Forrest out. He has so much heart anything is possible. I think this is a closer matchup than most people think.
This is very very true!
Forrest will win this fight with a submission from wearing down rampage. GO FORREST!!!!!
go forrest!!!! yeah right hes gona get his head ripped off jackson is a machine and is going to be undefeated in ufc but its cool forrest is a bad ass but hes gona lose.its not even gona be close. the reprise of rampage will be when jackson fucks up wanderli silva in the octagon and he will finaly knock out
What weights are they going to be coaching on TUF 7? Anyone know any of the feature fighters?
they are coaching the middle weights! and i dont know of nay stand outs or notables.
they are coaching middle weights, not sure who the guys are but there is like 32 guys on it i think and fight to get in the house maybe not too sure, any who…i fucking hate rampage he sucks dick and i would like to see forrest pound his face in…alot
Chuck Liddell Vs. Quiton Rampage Jackson III…i want this to happen so bad.
Heated confrontation huh?… that’ will be interesting to see who comes off as the ‘jerk’… who starts it… Rampage or Forrest?
its about fucking time. swing for the hills.
Forrest wins a close fight with a submission! Shocks the world, shuts up the haters!
ROFL love that shit ‘the couture factor’ o man hard to stop laughing when you hear that shit. Yeah cause you KNOW couture can make Forrest magically have KO power and an Amazing chin and amazing submissions o wait….he cant do that just incase your retarded and think fairies are real….
yeah i agree i don’t understan how people think forrest has enough power who has he knocked out that is still even in the ufc
Great fight can’t wait. Forrest you would expect to be the more technical striker but rampage has the power advantage… should be a close fight, hope it stays on the feet.
Rmpage Is going TO FUCK Forrest Up BAD!!!!!!!!!
Yep your right, Forrest will go running in face first and Rampage is gonna land him in row Z.
Going for Forrest on this one…he has more ways to win the fight. Only way Rampage wins is via KO or TKO. Forrest can do the same plus submissions if it goes to the ground. I say Forrest won’t might exchanging in the stand up, but he takes Rampage down where he’s vulnerable.
wow your funny as hell cause who has forrest beat that has any credentials other then rua.
wow you have to watch more mma matches and shut that unknowlegable face of yours.forrest doesn’t have the power of silva rua or henderson. yeah forrest is a good fighter and fun to watch but how is he going to put rampage on the ground and keep him there if henderson couldn’t.and in the stand up game forrest power doesn’t even measure on the same level as silva or iceman or henderson.so in what aspect of this fight are you even looking at it or is it just your bandwagon goggles. the only chance forrest has is decision but i don’t see this fight lasting 2 let alone 3 rounds and rampage is going to destroy your bayfriend and show the world where griffin stands in contendership which isn’t in the top 5 and maybe not even in the top 10
Pulling for forrest to beat page in a close brawl.
My prediction is Jackson by KO in the 2nd. Tough fight for me as I like both fighters. I really don’t mind the long wait …both are recovering from injuries. At least we know neither one will have any excuses.
I’m surprised to hear that they get in an altercation. I wonder if it was “real”, or if it was fabricated by the UFC to hype up the fight by building the story line. I mean, they are just two loveable characters that don’t have an ounce of hate in them. It will be very interesting to see this “altercation”.
Great fight can’t wait. Forrest you would expect to be the more technical striker but rampage has the power advantage… should be a close fight, hope it stays on the feet.
Rampage’s striking has actually gotten extremely technical since teaming up with Juanito Ibarra. I actually don’t think that it is safe to say that FOrrest is the more technical striker, ALTHOUGH, Forrest may be the more versed striker in that he throws leg kicks. I don’t recall the last time I seen Rampage throw a kick.

Rampage is not know for his ground work, but in all of his pro MMA fights, he has only been submitted once, and that was back in the day to Sakuraba. Rampage has 7 wins via submission, granted several of them were submission due to strikes, but he has applied a couple of RNC’s, as well as an arm bar and a kimura. So Rampage actually isn’t very vulnerable on the ground, especially to Forrest who isn’t exactly a submission wizard. In Forrest’s career he has 4 wins by submission - RNC’s and one triangle choke.
However, not much of that will play a factor in the fight because I don’t see Forrest Griffin getting Rampage down to the ground very easily. Rampage is the better wrestler for sure. Forrest mainly uses his wrestling to stop the takedown. I don’t see many takedowns in this fight, because Rampage probably won’t be looking for one very often, and Forrest will have a hard time getting Rampage down when he wants to.
ok this is for all the people who think this is going to be a good fight first off name one person who is good OTHER then shogun that forrest has beat.he has been destroyed by jardine who got destroyed by alwexander who got destroyed by thiago. in any way you look at it how is forrest deserving of a title shot in my opinion none.yeah he beat shogun big whoop yeah everyone thought griffen was going to be destroyed but look at it this way how was shogun the #1 light heavyweight in the world if henderson had the pride title.second this was shoguns first fight in the ufc cage which is a lil differant from the ring and he looked out of shape and most likley took griffin a lil to lightly.
don’t get me wrong yeah forrest is a good fighter but in no way is he deserving of a title shot.
in my opinion griffin would have to fight atleast one more fight with a contender to even be in top 5 .this is a hype fight and don’t get me wrong griffin does have a punchers chance but i don’t see in any aspect of this fight where griffin has the upperhand he has never been in the ring with anyone other then shogun that is in top 5 and in my opinion shogun still has to prove himself in the ufc to be in the top 5 himself .so please anyone tell me with facts how griffin is a top contender cause i would love to hear these fake ass facts cause to me he would have to fight atleast the axe murderer and win to prove he belongs in the same ring as rampage.
i am not a rampage nore a griffin fan just an true to heart mma fan and i just can’t see how griffin deserves top 5 status let alone contendership.
Wow, a lot of you are rooting for Griffin, as am I. A few weeks ago nobody was giving him a chance. I’d like nothing more than to see Griffin submit Rampage. This will be an exciting fight and I can’t wait to see it!
Can’t wait for this fight, it is going to be really hard to pick a favorite. Maybe they will just knock each other out at the excact same time.
Rampage is probably my favorite fighter, but Forrest is right up there with him. That makes it hard for me to pick who I want to win, but I’m leaning towards Rampage just because he’s more funny lol.
But, even if I choose to root for Forrest, I still think Rampage is going to take it.
Can’t wait for this fight, it is going to be really hard to pick a favorite. Maybe they will just knock each other out at the excact same time.
NOOOOOOOOOO, then Dana would have the belt go to Chuck by default
I like Forrest, he is a good fighter and has a great personality, but fighting a crap Shogun who gassed after the first round and fighting Rampage is a completely different thing. It was great that Forrest won, but seriously Shogun was utter crap it wasn’t that Forrest was that good. Forrest is extremely tough, but all you need to do is look at the Wanderlei fights to see how tough Rampage is even though he lost. I see Rampage winning by knockout, it won’t get past round two. I do believe Forrest would beat Chuck though.
I think if Forrest makes it past the first round, he can pull out the win one way or another.
Dude, Forrest is CRAZY! He LOOOVES getting hit in the face! It’ll almost be sad when Rampage KOs his ass.
i like forrest but rampage will beat him, i wouldn’t be surprised at all if it goes 5 rounds
This fight will be about as close as Hughes vs. GSP 3 was. Complete Dominance by the WORLD CLASS fighter RAMPAGE!
Although I would never right off Forrest, I just can’t see him getting near Rampage. Rampage is so strong and the much superior striker. Rampage round 2 KO
I am REALLY hoping that a lot of people posting here will be betting on this fight when it roll around. Because right now, I see value in betting on Rampage at -300 and by the sounds of it, a lot of the “newby” fans that still call it “Ultimate Fighting” and not “MMA” will be betting and losing their hard earned money on Forrest Griffin - which means that the odds for Rampage would move closer toward the -150 range. I can’t wait to see those odds!
Speaking of odds, I wonder when BetUs will post odds for UFN 13 and/or UFC 83. I am really hoping that the Frankie Edgar vs Gray Maynard fight makes its way there because I don’t see any way that Edgar loses that fight.

Only thing though. Sometimes Rampage gets tired (ie: vs Wandy or Hendo) and we all know Forrest can go the distance. So that makes me hesitant.
Hey Mike, who do you have for the upcoming fight night? In my opinion: Matt Hamill, Manny Gamburyan, Houston Alexander are the surest bets.

VM: I am throwing my whole account on the line for Rampage as soon as these adds are released. This match up reminds me of BJ Penn vs. Joe stevenson.
Rampage has faced: Sakuraba, Wanderlei (twice), Shogun, Ninja, Arona, Bustamante, Liddell (twice), Randleman, Henderson, lindland, and Igor Volchanychyn. Rampage even has a win in K-1.
Who has Forrest faced? Tito, Jardine, Bill Mahood, Bonner (twice), a half dead and acl-less shogun, Hector Ramirez.
Lets be real, Forrest is a very good TUF star, Rampage is a world class fighter.
Striking: Advantage Rampage! Since linking up with juanito Rampage has turned into the most technical striker at 205 lb.
Rampage has KO power in both hands Forrest has little Ko power if any at all. If Rampage would have t-off on Bonner for 6 rounds (2 fights), Bonner would be in a vedgetative state right now. Rampage is also an under rated muy tai striker, I have watched many fights involving him where he was throwing some very good leg kicks, and muy tai Knees. Rampage also has the advantage in the CHIN department.
Wrestling: Big Advantage Rampage. He will be able to takedown Forrest at will if he chooses to. He took down Liddell at will in his 1st fight. He out wrestled Hendo and Lindland. On the other hand Forrest was being thrown around and controlled for much of the Tito fight. Dont forget about Rampage’s fight-ending Slams.
Ground N pound: Goes to Rampage. I like his G n P a lot. He incorporates a lot of knees to the body as well as elbows to the body. He will be able to control forrest if he chooses to. He is one of the few fighters to end a fight by Ground n pound due to a body blow (Igor fight).
Ju jitsu: Pretty even. Both have some submission ability, and very good submission defense. Neither will be able to submit the other so this doesnt matter much. I say jackson’s ju jitsu is good because he is pretty fluent at passing from position to position on the ground.
Strength/Power/Chin: All go to Rampage
Heart goes to Forrest, but that will only cause him to get seriously hurt in this fight. If Rampage comes into this fight with Juanito by his side and with no major injuries, he will walk right through Forrest.
I see no way Forrest can Finish Rampage, and I see no way Forrest can last 5 rounds with Rampage with out getting KO’ed.
This will be a good fight, but Rampage is going to really hurt Forrest. I like Forrest, I hope he doesnt get hurt to bad.
Rampage wins this fight 9.9999 times out of 10!
This fight will be about as close as Hughes vs. GSP 3 was. Complete Dominance by the WORLD CLASS fighter RAMPAGE!
I agree. Rampage is gonna DISMANTLE Forrest. It’s gonna be hard to watch for all the Forrest fans…
Also, I’m thinking pretty hard right now about making this my first UFC event. Las Vegas isn’t TOO far away for me to make…

We’ve seen Forrest go three rounds but he’s yet to go five rounds. I’m sure he can but Rampage has already proved that he can.
I wouldn’t call Matt Hamil a sure bet…he’ll have his hands full with Boetsch. Hamil has come a long way but he stills has a ways to go. He gassed hard in his fight with Bisping and his stiking was anything but technical.
The only thing going for Maynard is that he trains with Couture so maybe they’ll have a solid game plan for the fight…but I doubt that any plan can derail Edgar…he’d better get a top 5 LW after this win…maybe Huerta or Florian.
this match is coin flip.
Rampage by tko or Forrest by decision
Forrest, we love you!

ooOoOoOOoooo… ::praying for Forrest::… somebody call the ambulance! just get it ready!
My upset pick for UFN will have to be Tiago Alves over Karo!
If Joe Lauzon is a huge underdog, a small bet on him will have some value. I think Houston will take out Irving as well.
Nate vs. Batman…I wonder what those odds will be. If Nate is a big underdog, a bet on him will have some value as well.

I also dont see Forrest lasting more than 2 rounds. Forrest has only tested himself against Tito (who is 5 years removed of being a decent fighter) and Jardine who KO him. Shogun was fighting with no ACL, which forced him to not be able to train, which made his conditioning CRAP, and Forrest still had a tough time with him in the first 7-8 minutes of that fight.
Could u imagine what Rampage would have done to Shogun, that night? I take nothing away from Forrest but for those of you that think he beat Shogun, so he is ready to fight Rampage, you will be proved wrong. If he would have beaten a healthy Shogun, I would give him a better chance at Rampage, but this fight will be a huge rude awakening for Forrest, that as much heart as he has, and as much as we love him, dont step up to the plate if you arent ready…and he is not ready…. he shouldnt even have taken this fight…. Its just a bad idea!
From a competitive point of view, this fight will look like BJ Penn vs. Joe Stevenson… TUF winners are great fighters, but none of them (at this point in time) are ready to be champions of their divisions.
Poor Forrest. But I guess you never know.
Hey thats what we all said when he fought Shogun too. Bottom line is Forrest is one of the hardest workers in all of MMA and get better every fight and we all know that no on goes into a fight with more heart than Forest. He may loose this fight but I guarentee he will make it competitive even if he does.
how does he get better with every fight he has only 2 fights under his belt since he got put to sleep by jardine and beating a ring rusted first time in a cage shogun wasn’t as big a deal as every forrest fan has made it out to be name another fighter forrest has beat that is in the top 10 let alone the top 5 NO ONE he isn’t as good as everyone makes him out to be

Rampage has been known to get tired in his fights, but not since he teamed up with Juanito. Rampage’s conditioning is the reason he is still wearing the belt. Dan Henderson won rounds one and two of that fight, and Rampage came back to win round 3 and the championship rounds, 4 and 5, which Forrest Griffin has yet to face.
For UFN 13, for the main card, I got Frankie Edgar as the sure win against Gray Maynard. For the undercard, Manny and Clay are the sure wins in my opinion. Matt Hamill vs Tim Boetsch is going to be rather close - I’ll be rooting for Hamill, but would not wager money on him. Houston Alexander seems like a pretty safe pick against James Irvin because Irvin likes to stand and bang as well. I give the edge to Houston, but I don’t guarantee victory like I do with Frankie Edgar.
Now I just need BetUs to post the event…

THE ODDS JUST CAME OUT ON BETUS.com and there are 3 fights:
Karo -170
Alves plus 140
Fisher -115
Aurelio -115
Lauzon plus 180
Florian -220

It will be closer then people think! HE will tire out rampage even if he loses, but i still dont feel he deserves this title shot because jardine flat out embarrased him and lidell both!

Yeah good point, I forgot about that. Why isn’t Jardine up for a title shot?? No disrespect to Forest, but….sometimes I just wonder how they determine these matches.

Let me try this again. lol
Actually, 7 out of Forrest’s 15 wins are by submission…he has a very underrated BJJ game.
I think this is going to be a great fight and I certainly wouldn’t count Forrest out. He’s tough as nails, has a ton of heart, a great work ethic, and continues to improve every fight…and he’s hungry. I could see this fight going the distance and wouldn’t be surprised to see Griffin’s hand raised in victory in the end.
On another note, I wonder what caused the altercation between Forrest and Rampage…they have both said in interviews that they like each other and have no beef. Should be interesting…

No one wants to see Rampage vs Liddell 3 except the Liddell nut-huggers.
Also, I dont know if it was due to body shots on the ground, but Liddell’s corner had to throw in the towel after some savage elbows to the ribs via Rampage GnP.
they need to put silva okami title fight on this plus a hughes gono on this as well
wow..let just say that i don’t think forrest will give up like rampage did with shogun. That dude is way over rated, this you will see when forrest hands page his ass..i hope rampage can hang in there as long as shogun did, just to make it worth watching..forrest will be champ come july.
wow did you watch the rua rampage fight or you just talking out of your ass cause yeah he did give up but he took a lethal round house that broke his rib and took alot more kicks in the same spot befor he gave up and i just don’t see forrest with any kind of power let alone the power rua had when he started in pride.
you are one good comedian cause forrest doesn’t have the power rua had when he started in pride and rua threw a lethal round house that broke rampages rib then continued to kick him in the same rib over and over which made rampage give i just think you should stop stalking forrest and watch more mma fights that don’t have forrest in them to be even close to knowlegable about the sport to even open your mouth.
Forrest Griffin, and Rampage Jackson.. I think this fight is going ot be one people will remember for a long time.. could be cause the first TUF winner gets knocked out so close to the title, or could be that the TUF winner shows the World of MMA that he isn’t a reality T.V star, he’s a warrior caught in the middle of T.V hype. Don’t expect either one of them to win this one easy but look for the body slams. This one is going to be for the books.
**Ice man vs Rampage 111?** It would be wise for the *Ice man* fans not to watch it.. *snickers*
-Nicholas Camarena.
cant wait for the tuf 7 seems really exciting
i hope griffin can pull out a victory but its gonna be a HUGE test to overcome the ridicoulous rampage lol
i do however believe griffin can submit quinton, if he can submit shogun he can submit quinton no doubt. but griffin betta fight the fight of hes life and give 200% for the entire fight wheater its 2 mins or 25 mins
love both characters but im rootin for griffin
i dont care who wins, but if forrest wins,
i’ll “cry”
forrest griffin fucking sucks. he is not a good fighter, he is not funny and does not deserve a title shot. i hope rampage fucks him up
i fink if rashad evans beats chuck liddel he shud get a title shot
rampage is going to fuck forrest up badd!!!!! sooo pumped for this fight!!
Forrest will take the belt
forrest will win! he beat Rua.. Rampage isnt as good of a coach as forest either. Forrest works the hell out of all his guys. rampage lets them do what they want..
I hope Jackson smashes Griffin so hard he runs out of the octagon cryying like a 6 year old girl… AGAIN!!!… funnyest sh*t i’ve ever seen thanks to Jardine
Wow! 4th Round @ 4.28 Rampage killed Forrest! That fight was rigged and I want a rematch! Dana White is a fag and Forrest is his little B*TCH.
its always the sames on these reveiws. one guy loves on guy and says hes gona mess up the other guy and vice versa. Page is good, but hes been beaten. im not saying forrest is gona kill him, but hes not gona die in there either. Rampages also is looking somewhat fat right now and the time of the fight is coming closer and closer. Itll be a good fight. Lots of people said jardine woud beat wanderlei, and look what happend, jardine got knocked out in 36 seconds. Peple said wanderlei wold break chuck, wanderlei lst by decision. People said chuck was gona eat rampe, look wat happend, chuck got koed (and hm and wanderlei are my favorite fighters, so m not being a chuck fan boy.) These fighters are the best in the world and the ones who are going for titles are always good. Its MMa, anything can happen, and unlke boxing, lucky punches can be critical. i know this from my amateur matches. I know this from watching. Who thought that serra was gona beat GSP he first time? not many and look what happend. Anderson silva was a big nderdog in the first frankilin fight, now hes rated #1 in the world. dont count forrest out, and dont expect rampage to be a god, and also dont doubt rampage will knock out forrest. anything can happen.
New fans call it Ultimate Fighting??? I don’t’ want to cause an argument but seriously, what the tarnations is that supposed to mean. Last time I checked the there are different leagues , WEC, IFC, UFC, and the last time I checked Forrest and Rampage fight in the U.F.C which is abbreviated for “the Ultimate Fighting Championship” .. correct? Just because they are MMA fighters doesn’t mean that when you order the pay-per view it will read “Thanks for ordering MMA 82”!! *snickers* Also, I’m noticing a lot of people here are rooting for Rampage, no, not rooting, proclaiming his victory already.. Any “UFC” fan should know that it ain’t over until the two men get dirt deep.. And the lat time I checked the fight is on 5th of July! It hasn’t happened yet. I got a feeling that after the fight, the very same silence will fall upon this message baord.. You know, the same silence that happened after “Jardine beat Chuck“ and “Forrest beat Showgun“.. but worse then the silence is someone believing that the impossible can’t happen.. I do have bets on fights and my record is usually very flawless.. The truth is I am a rampage fan, but I would be more then wiling to put my money on Forrest Griffin to shock the world.. And I BET I’ll win, just the same as I won the patriots will be 18-1.. THANK YOU GIANTS!
I think the fight will be very close. If this were a striker vs. striker matchup rampage would have a definitive edge. Even so, rampage in his two victories over chuck, the first was chuck’s first ever fight in the Pride fighting format with the extended rounds and boxing ring format vs. the octagon, and the second time was a clean knockout. Not to mention Rampage pretty much got his ass handed to him by Wanderlei Silva who got beat by chuck liddell, and wanderlei lost to dan henderson who lost to rampage…..put simply, any of these fighters who rely on KO power and swing for the fences, all it takes is one slipup by their opponent, they can beat each other. The equalizer to KO power? Wrestling and Jujitsu. And whoever made the comment about couture is correct, he can’t give someone knockout power or a hard chin. But he can teach forest how to neutralize that KO punching power as was seen in beating Chuck in the middleweight and Tim Silvia in the heavyweight division. And the way Forest picks up everything taught to him and how quickly he adapts, this is a bigger factor than most people give credit for. Also, for those people who leave comments like “forest sucks he doesn’t deserve a title shot” etc. News flash, he just handedly beat Shogun who FYI kicked, and I mean KICKED the shit out of Rampage. It was not even a contest last time they fought. Granted he might’ve been out of shape but we can make all the excuses we want, shogun felt good enough to step into that ring. I think the fight will be close and not one person is going to kick the shit out of the other.

Forrest will be on top….go Forrest….go on and win……
CLOSE FIGHT BUT I THINK FORREST WILL PULL IT OFF LATE 4TH AFET A LONG HARD BATTLE OF THESE TWO WARRIORS…. ONCE AGAIN W. SILVA WILL BITCH-SLAPP RAMPAGE SHOULD THEY FIGHT AGAIN,,GSP……!!
anything can happen.
You guys remember during the ultimate fighter when Rampage and Griffin got into an argument and Rampages’ exact words were “I bet our fight don’t go to the decision”, well it just went to the decision and he lost. Forrest made him eat his words. And the new light heavyweight champion of the world Forrest Griffin
Did you see how the fans “booed” Forrest at the end? That was a really close fight and Forrest did NOT win! As far as eating something, Rampage made Forrest eat those combinations!
Well, I guess your dreams didn’t come true. In the end, Forrest looked more beat-up than Rampage. Rematch!!!
if your gonna cry, when your favorite fighter loses, then maybe MMA isn’t the sport you should be watching. lol. Fighters lose and win. that’s the way it is. And if you really think Rampage is the shit, why won’t you do yourself a favor, and educate yourself on the orgins of MMA, when it first came out, when it was different than what it is today. You then tell me, you REALLY think Rampage could survive back then? lmao. At least Griffin looks and fights like he’d have a surviving chance.
Rampage lost to Shogun in Pride, Shogun lost to Griffin in UFC… Griffin beats Rampage in UFC… who could have thunk it!!!
Rampage won, the judges (especially Roy Silbert) need to be fucking fired, they’re all biased…
It is the second time he scores in favor of Griffin. Griffin fought well, but RAMPAGE WON! It’s really unfair to say he got his ass whooped. That’s Bullshit!
Forrest went in there in very good shape!!!! HE WON!!!! I think Rampage is an unbeleivable fighter but Forrest can take and do ANYTHING! If u think about it Forrest needs to take a lil beating before he gets his MOVE on!!!! Unbeleivable fight! Congrats to Forrest!!!
yo guys i knew that forest would win cause he has the heart of a lion and i think thats good enuff against any fighter
i knew that forest would win because he has the hearto of a lion so dont get all mad cause he whooped jackson because jackson ribbs are really mest up dude
