“In a ruling made early last evening, Las Vegas District Court Judge Jennifer Togliatti granted the request of Zuffa, LLC, owner of the UFC, for a preliminary injunction preventing Randy Couture and those acting in concert with him from violating Couture’s contractual commitment not to promote competing mixed martial arts events. Specifically, Judge Togliatti agreed that it appeared Couture had violated his non-compete agreement with Zuffa by promoting the International Fight League’s (IFL) upcoming event to be staged Friday, February 29, 2008. Judge Togliatti also granted Zuffa’s request to immediately conduct a deposition examination of Couture regarding other claimed violations of his one year non-compete agreement. Zuffa attorneys, Donald Campbell and Colby Williams, stated they look forward to examining Couture under oath regarding what they termed ‘Couture’s chronic and brazen violations of his contractual obligations to Zuffa.’”
The IFL event took place last night at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. For complete event results click here.

good job zuffa, show randy what we do to quitters
They should just let Randy go. If he wants to leave let him. They cant make him fight for them anymore. They should end this now and rip up the contract. Dana should just let the Randy vs Fedor fight happen as soon as possible.
randy thinks he is bigger then the sport- his woman is in his head and he is being a selfish prick. he has got tons from the ufc – he gets paid a fuck load per fight and he has got greedy.
hope he fights fedor and gets his ass kicked and then retires- he really has been a huge let down – thought he was a man of character- not a greedy money hogging prick. fight out your contract that YOU signed – with ur massive signing bonus- and honour your contract- then by all means leave on good terms and fight Fedor- not act like you are too big to honour contracts and selfishly want to fight fedor and screw everyone else over cos you are MR UFC who can do what he wants and screw people over when you signed a contract and got an immediate title shot and signing bonus and yet you are hard done by the UFC – let down to the UFC fans- you let down everybody but your wife

Dana White will never do that. He is a very selfish person. I bet when he was a kid he wouldn’t let anyone else play with his toys.
You don’t screw with the kings of MMA Randy…. you should have known that you can’t just do what you did, you had it coming.

Overall Dana has been wonderful for the UFC, but IMO he has made some poor decisions in the past 6 months or so. It all started with not landing Fedor, then it all snowballed from there.
Randy and Dana are both at fault. Randy was treated very well by the UFC. He got KO by Liddell 2 fights in a row, retired and came out of retirement and was awarded an immediate title shot againts Sylvia. Of course it benefited the UFC as well, since at the time the HW division sucked and Tim Sylvia putting on the most boring title fights of his%
Mania, it just took me half an hour to write my last post, It was all my original thoughts, not cutting and pasting, I didnt attack anyone, use bad words nor did I make any derrogatory comments and all u post was the first 3 sentences….THATS REALLY FUCKED UP!!!!!!!

U Said it…Randy is the new T.O. of the UFC. Wow did he fuck his legacy up or what. He was the top of the world when this whole thing started all the trolls on the internet were all about Randy. Screw that cheap Dane White they said; pay him what he is worth. Then all the facts came out, about how Randy lied about the whole thing and tried to make UFC look bad as it was a money problem, but it wasn’t. And now the most decorated UFC fighter Captain America is a butt of every joke and is more like a greedy capitalistic pig.
There is an MMA fantasy game online where they give you names but let’s you make your own nickname, there is a character on there who’s last name is Couture and someone named him “Lives up to his contract” Couture, I laughed for hours………
The only chance that Couture had against Fedor would be in the Cage, once Randy looses his only advantage he would get SMASHED by Fedor. If he still really wants this fight to happen and wants a chance at winning, he needs to get on his knees and beg Dana to try to make this fight happen in the octagon otherwise he becomes another easy notch on Fedors belt

Randy should give back the 500k he took from dana in agreement with the new contract.
I still don’t understand why the UFC just doesn’t make the Couture/Fedor fight happen. They were going to do it with Liddell/Silva. I all comes down to money and this would be a big one. Also if Randy wins that just lifts the UFCs exposure even more, it will show the elite talent is in the UFC. And if he loses then we can blame it on his age that mabye he’s past his prime, and the UFC still has the money this fight would make. Personally I would rather see this fight In the UFC than HDnet fights. And for all you guys saying Randy let you down get a life, he’s doing what anybody would do when you feel your not getting what your supposed to.
Well, according to MMAweekly, Couture’s ranked #3 now, so he should fight Big Nog. Of course, we all know that wont happen.

If he wasn’t getting what he thought he was supposed to, then he shouldn’t have signed the contract!
way to go dana,,to hell wit mr.hgh and his gold -digger skank wife mrs.hgh
randy is a bum,,the ufc doesnt need that loser if it wasnt for hgh randy would b nuthing

I don’t think Randy had a problem with the money he was making at the time, it was more about Zuffa offering Fedor far more, Randy considered that a slap in the face. That being said, Randy should finish out his contract, either by waiting the 18 months or by taking 2 more fights.
This is all a bunch of bullshit. There is no way in hell Couture will get a fair hearing or trial in Nevada with the kind of state influence the Fertittas wield. This is a preliminary injunction so its all tentiative, but the outlook for Couture isn’t looking good.
If Randy wants to quit then its his fucken choice.. Man nothing will ever make me believe that Randy is not a loyal person who lives by an honest code.. EVERYONE HERE SHOULD KNOW most contracts have Terms & Conditions which are meant to FUCK YOU or in other words protect you(which is what they tell you). I mean come on guys you know it doesn’t take much for an Empire like the UFC to crush one of it’s little guys..
My point is that Dana White said that the UFC was doing fine before Randy came back and it will do fine now that he’s gone..YET..he wont let him go.. And TRUTH BE TOLD everyone should be on RANDY’s side b/c if your a true fight fan why do you care about legal bullshit and he say, she say media jargon when what you should really be concerned about is the fact that the UFC is the only thing preventing the FEDOR VS RANDY SUPER FIGHT..
MMA MANIA my last post has some cuss words in it but nothing direct and it came from the heart..
i hope the judges take randy’s side as much as the law will allow. cause i feel what they payed lesnar was a slap in the face and it shows just how big of prick they r they payed lesnar that much and fedor wouldn’t sign with them come on. this is BS!
UFC will take round 2,3,4 and 5!! and Knock him and HDNET Fights the F*ck out! The Law is on their side!! HE VIOLATED A CONTRACT!!
by the time Zuffa and UFC get done with Couture, he’ll probably need rehab. Fedor Vs. Couture will never see the light of day, HDNET Fights contract? lawsuit? yeah sure that is a JOKE! He violated a legal document, I wonder how Couture will respond when UFC lawyers show him the copies of the checks with his signature on it, and ask him “are these not the checks you said you did not receive as bonus from UFC?” his ass is grass!!
go Zuffa, make an example of that over the hill loser.
P.S. it was awesome getting to see Kim get her ass whupped.

But why does the ins and outs of the contract concern you personally? I mean you sound as if you would actually be upset if Randy vs Fedor did happen… All I’m saying is there is no doubt Randy violated the contract but the actions by the UFC inregards to sueing him is a bit extreme considering he is willing to finish out the time clause part of it and considering the fact that he, up until this point(i guess) has been a stand up guy and has already done much more to the UFC than the UFC has done for him.. FOR CRYING OUT LOUD give this guy a chance to fight and go out like the true Capt. America by letting him fight FEDOR as a champ…After all at his age he probably would have no desire training for anyone else.
it sucks that it had to come to this, but screwing the fans cuz of drama and not honoring your contractual agreement is a very stupid move. this news makes me happy.
Does it look like Randy has Man Boobs in this picture or is it just me?
I think those against Randy are misinformed or uninformed as to the current situation going on throughout the UFC. Fighters all through the ranks of the UFC have had problems with Zuffa and especially its puppet “Dana White.” Randy is not the only heavyweight to walk away from the UFC due to poor treatment, the “Pit Bull” Andrei Arlovski has also been noted as having problems similar to Couture, and Tim Silvia also expressed past problems regarding financial issues. These are only a few of the growing number of fighters who are beginning to speak out against the UFC, a stance which was once only held by Tito Ortiz.
Boxing will never have anything close to the excitement of MMA, but it does have one thing right…fair compensation of fighters. The current compensation of fighters in the UFC is gross! It is the complete opposite of what boxing provides which is a fair (~90%) of the earnings, but UFC only provides fighters with at most 10%. Boxing actually has a sport, not just one organization trying to dominate a market, which is what is happening with the UFC.
We need to always support our fighters not that mouth piece Dana White. We shouldn’t fall for the framing of these fighters as money hungry, selfish, or greedy…follow the money and see who the true money hungry people are.
Warmly,
Fight Fan
