“… I’m fighting a wrestler, who in order for him to play into his strong suit, he has to also play into my strength. I’m real good about catching submissions on the way down from takedowns, so that’s something I always look to implement. Anytime anyone takes someone down, no matter how good of a wrestler that they are, there’s always a split second where they’re over-extended or posting on the mat, and that’s something that if you’re quick you can take advantage of.”
– Dustin Hazelett tells MMAWeekly.com that he is not scared of the wrestling ability of his opponent, Josh Koscheck, at UFC 82: “Pride of a Champion” at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, on March 1. In fact, he hopes to use his strength against him to lock-in a fight-ending submission.

1st baby
Josh got this fight covered I’ll be suprised if he loses
I nearly pissed myself from laughter after reading that quote. Dustin Hazellet are you kidding me ? Josh and Diego were given cake walks for UFC 82 and hey why not, it may set them up for a rematch or better fights such as :
Diego versus Marcus Davis
and
Koscheck vs. Karo “crybaby” Parysian
Hazlett isnt joking! He will submit Koschek. You will see! As for Diego, he has a much harder fight waiting for him against the scandanavian Lion then he and most fans think.
These 2 fights are no cake walks!
As a matter of fact Fitch’s opponent Wilson is very tough as well.
Although many fans dont know these names, Joe Silva did a great job on this card by bringing in “no name” fighters that will surprise fans and will stick around in the UFC for a while.
2 names for all u haters to keep in mind:
Houston Alexander and boetsh!
Im not so sure koscheck is going to be looking to shoot right away. If his gameplan was to strike with GSP, i certainly wouldn’t be afraid to strike with this guy.

I totally agree. I’m expecting at least one of those three to be upset on this card. I think that they’ll come in overconfident (especially Koscheck) and might get surprised by how good their opponents actually are.
YOU’RE MY BOY BLUE!!!
John, ViolentMike and Myself have been the people saying from the get go that Dustin Hazelett would defeat Josh Koscheck. I still stand by that.
Hazelett is a FANTASTIC BJJ artist and is incredible off his back. Look out for a Triangle Choke.
Im not a real big KOS fan, but HAZLETTE, better not feel like this fight will automaticlly be taken down to the ground, or he might get caught with an over the top right hand, which landed a couple times on sanchez.
Kos is getting much better on his feet, and might not want to take the fight to the ground.
Kos can really bring anything.
I’m certain that if GSP couldn’t submit Kos then “McLovin” won’t be able to. Kos by 2nd Round Submission due to strikes.

no karo should get a title shot if he bets alves. now davis vs koscheck i like to c that fight. davis i think would win.
wishful thinking on his part and that is all he has. josh is not going 2 loss this fight. u can take that 2 the bank.
Koscheck will win by KTFO SECOND ROUND!!!!!
dustin sucks!
I hope Hazlett breaks Kos’ arm. I guess I would be happy if he put him to sleep too.
Has giving away your strategy ever been a good stradegy?
If Fitch can avoid Diego’s submission attempts, then his training partner surely can do the same to a less dangerous fighter.
Decision Kos.

Dustin is not a cakewalk. He is actually 2-1 in the UFC. Guess what Kos’s record was after 3 UFC fights? Yup, 2-1. A couple of Dustin’s UFC fights were on youtube/dailymotion. His BJJ is VERY slick.
I agree with his quote 110%, and like Mr. NC-17 said, I have been saying that Hazelett will submit Kos because all Kos does is take people down and lay on them, I don’t believe he has ever won a fight by GnP. Where is Dustin most dangerous? Off of his back. I really hope Kos takes this fight lightly. I think I’m about to go bet even more $ on Dustin right now…
