go Prater!!!!
Does anyone know the tentative date of Faber-Pulver?
Flying Armbar.. Joke.. Right? Only Ox..
Woo. Gonna get to see this tonight on TSN. Didnt know WEC was on TV in Canada. Even if its tape delayed still gonna be nice to see.
I dont have the versus network but I really wanted to see that flying arm bar.
Serious this is on TSN tonight?
hey mania did you just see the commercial for 82? im going and i know that jardine isnt on the card but he was just on the commercial im positive…what is up with that?
I missed something, why do they keep showing Keith Jardine in the ads for UFC 82.. Good fights so far tonight in this WEC thing. Mir is the man, he’s a much better fighter than commentator, god bless him though. Kimbo vs Tank, can’t wait.
LENARD, wow getting better.
Leonard Garcia is the real deal - just ask Roger Heurta. I’d like to see him fight Jens Pulver.
Night-Night, Razor Rob. Wow.
Versus has a nice fine coming their way
i dont have this channel, sounds like there was a bs timeout for a mouthpiece, was it legit?
No.
good thinking on the other guys behalf when rob knocked out his mouth piece.
condit just subed him, like to see him in the UFC..one of the only middleweight stars we don;t have
condit just subed him, like to see him in the UFC..one of the only middleweight stars we don;t have
he’s a welterweight and too good for the wec.
didn’t do so well in my picks but had $ on wheeler and I’m happy Condit one and WOW on the Varner fight I had Razor for a 1st rd KO
i gotta say that i think mazzaggati made a big mistake with the mouthpiece incident….like he was hurt, they scramled and rob backed up to throw more punches cause he wasnt gonna let varner hold onto him…i mean mazzagattis gotta recognize that i think
Miguel Torres just WOW. This guy is fun to watch when he does his bjj.
hell yeah! jamie varner. way to represent AzCombatSports gym in tempe Arizona.
Varner was hurt.. that was a shame. He was moments away from being finished.
Varner was hurt.. that was a shame. He was moments away from being finished.
He had gotten back to his feet and had separated from McCullough when he called the time out. Referees stop fights all the time to replace lost mouthpieces. It’s a safety issue. I’ve just never seen a fighter actually signal for a time out.

OK i cant argue weather or not rob would have had a chance either way. But regardless i think the ref made a bad call. Mouth piece or not he was hurt and he called a time out to recover using the mouth piece as an excuse. Most fighters when a mouth piece has fallen out will just pick it up and put it back in there mouth. BOTTOM LINE BAD CALL BY THE REF FOR GIVING A HURT FIGHTER TIME TO RECOVER DURING A FIGHT! He should have waited until varner was recovered and not rocked!
that was some great fights. loved the reverse rear naked from torres, and i love condit hes my fav. fighter, but that guy letting him get the gullitine from that spot twice is ridic. he shouldve known better.
KEITH JARDINE ERROR???…. DID ANYBODY NOTICE THAT THEY HAD KEITH JARDINE ANNOUNCED TO FIGHT IN THE UFC 82 PREVIEW COMMERICAL DURING THE WEC EVENT LAST NIGHT???
K-1’s new company “DREAM” who signed cro cop yesterday also reached an agreement to work with M-1.
Can anyone say Fedor vs. Cro Cop part 2?
I am sad to say I missed last nights WEC event. What were the best fights of the night? I hear Garcia looked good!
I dont watch too many WEC events, but I gotta say im always impressed. Torres looked very slick, he has some nice skills and a nasty mullet. Did anyone else get pissed off by the crowd booing during the LW Title fight, what do they want to see, two people just standing in the centre trading sloppy hay-makers?
I am sad to say I missed last nights WEC event. What were the best fights of the night? I hear Garcia looked good!
Torres impressed me the most. He completly handled Chase Beebe.
Garcia looked good, but I was more disappointed in Takaya’s performance then impressed by Garcia’s. Takaya did nothing.

He was hurt but it looked like he had pretty much recovered by them. i mean he separated pretty quikcly and already had his wits about him enough to call for the mouthpiece…
based on his performance last night, i still think varner would beat razor rob in a rematch. he was doing real well until he got careless and got caught with the mouthpiece ejecting punch.
once again another bad call by mazagatti that possibly changed the outcome of a fight.
so why wasn’t he deducting points from people last night for hits to the back of the head, if he is so consitent?
oh and i feel sorry for VS they are gonna get nailed by the FCC for that F-bomb that slipped through.
The Tapia/Banuellos fight was entertaining as expected. Before the read the score cards, I was hoping that Steve the referee would have pulled up the back of his shirt to reveal that he has “Mazzagatti” tattoo’d across his lower back. Lower back tatoos on guys aren’t exactly the best spot to get one…
Miguel Torres looked unbeatable in that fight. That dude got some LONG arms for his height, wow. His BJJ was just as good as anybody’s when applied to MMA. I expect him to be champ for a while. Chase is still a young kid, only 22 years of age. He will be back fighting for the title many more times.
As I always say, I am a big Leonard Garcia ever since the first time I saw him fight against Huerta. He won over every single fan watching that fight. He is a beast at 145!!!!! He KO’d him with a straight right, which really isn’t even a power punch (well, not the most powerfull of the punches). Jens has next crack at Urijah. So I think that they will have Bad Boy fight one more time, and if he wins, he’ll get the winner of Faber/Pulver. I think that they would need to bring someone in to fight him for the #1 contender spot, because who else is worthy of that fight right now, Micah Miller? No.
Razor Rob looked very tentative and Varner just kicked his ass. A great boxer vs a great Muay Thai guy in an MMA fight, I would pick the Muay Thai guy everytime. But Varner just F’d him up. Right before the KO flury, Rob trash talked Jamie telling him to bring it. Next time Rob will be carefull what he asks for. I wonder if they will give him an instant rematch or if they will bring someone in to fight Varner next. Not much has been going on in the 155 lb divion in the WEC.
Carlos Condit wins. What did you expect? He came in light for this fight, 167.5 lbs. I was also hearing rumors that he is considering coming over the the UFC. This makes me wonder if possibly he is considering fighting at 155 lbs in the LW division of the UFC. He trains with Team Jackson and his fighters often do come in weighing light because they over train. But GSP is training with Greg Jackson right now. If Condit goes to the UFC and stays at WW, he and the champ would be training together. This could prove to be either good or bad for Condit. Diego did not accept training with GSP. Carlos Condit is an Alberquerque native as well. JOHN, what do you think about this? Anyone else?
What happened with the Tapia-Banuelos decision? I left the room once it was announced and could have sworn it was a draw and read here that it was a majority decision. If I remember correctly the cards went 30-27 Tapia, 28-28, 29-28 Banueulos and because Tapia had more overall points he was awarded the decision. Did they announce that and I missed it or am I totally lost?
i gotta say that i think mazzaggati made a big mistake with the mouthpiece incident….like he was hurt, they scramled and rob backed up to throw more punches cause he wasnt gonna let varner hold onto him…i mean mazzagattis gotta recognize that i think
Agreed. A fighter can not call time out in a fight. Only the ref can do so. Mazzagatti should have never allowed that to happen. When Varner called timout, Steve should have shook his head and said “Keep fighting”. He was still rocked at that point and had over a minute to recover.
How about that one referee that said:
“ARE YOU READY? ARE YOU READY? LET’S GET IT”
WTF was that all about. I started laughing at this guy trying to hang from Big John’s nuts. Both of the announcers were laughing under their breath as well.
It’s a safety issue. I’ve just never seen a fighter actually signal for a time out.
* cough * Matt Hughes * cough *
Did anyone else get pissed off by the crowd booing during the LW Title fight, what do they want to see, two people just standing in the centre trading sloppy hay-makers?
I agree, the crowd should not have been booing. If they should have booed anything, they should have boo’d when Varner just kept on going for the takedown and holding on to Rob’s leg while pressed up against the cage.

if it happens all th time, why was Frank Mir so surprised by it and saying “you can’t do that!”
These fights were all around really good. I do think that Razor Rob got kinda screwed by the time out being called. Miguel Torres all I have to say is WOW! His BJJ was increadible and his striking looked pretty good too with those skills he should be able to hold on to that belt for awhile.
I cant wait for Faber vs Pulver that should be one hell of a fight!
Btw does anyone know of anywhere you can watch the undercard for this fight I really want to see that flying arm bar lol

Who won with a flying arm bar? As for the fights, I would suggest checking on http://www.myvideofight.com for last nights bouts. If you dont find it, try later on in the day becauuse new fights are constantly being added to that site.

Thats a good question and a great analysis. In the interview I heard of Condit, he mentioned possibly moving up to the UFC because “Mach” Sakurai is possibly coming and Joe Silva is looking for an opponent for him. I think an indictaion of what weight Condit would fight at is if the “Mach” fight really happens. “Mach” is also one of those fighters that could either fight at 170lb or 155 lb. However, everytime I hear a UFC rumor with his name involved, its about him fighting in the UFC at 170 lb. So is Condit really does fight “Mach” then it seems as though he will be a UFC welterweight, if not then there is a good chance of him cutting to 155lb because as u mentioned the Jackson Camp fighters all cut lots of weight to fight in lighter divisions.
If I had to guess, I have a feeling Condit will be training along side of GSP. As you mentioned, Diego didnt except that role. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. If he doesnt fight “Mach” then IMO there will be a chance of him fighting at 155 lb. We’ll see! Hopefully he makes the leap from WEC to UFC right NOW! The dude has been ready for some time now, and I would like to see his next fight be in the OCTAGON!
Hey ViolentMike: How does Carlos Condit vs. Marcus Davis at UFC 85 in London sound to you? God, i would give anything to have Joe Silva’s job!
John, you do have the versus channel right? Because they ALWAYS replay the events. It will probably be on again this weekend, either Friday or Saturday. And then they will replay it again like 18 more times between now and thier next event.

Torres is a super common last name. Anthony Torres if from Hawaii and Miguel Torres is from Chicago. So unless they have different mother’s who both got knocked up by the same latin stud, I would say no.
Razor Rob looked very tentative and Varner just kicked his ass.
I agree, Rob came in not looking like his championship self. Rob at his best and this fight has a different outcome… we obviously didn’t see his best last night.

Carlos Condit does not train with Team Jackson. He trains at some Gym in Santa Fe New Mexico and at fit In Albuquerque.
I put plenty of stuff about this event up at mmacraze.wordpress.com
The fights I saw were all pretty good. I have to agree that Condit needs to move to the UFC for some more competition. He looked kind small to me though not sure how he would do against the bigger WWs.
Torres looked great. He just showed again that guys who can only really wrestle and gnp dont cut it any more. Gotta round out that game. Damn he looked sick. Cant wait to see him fight again.
I wonder if the WEC will bring back their Heavyweight and Super Heavyweight Division.
Beebe has looked kind of shaky and started really slowly in his last 2 fights, before going on to dominate. You just had a feeling that if he started slowly (which he did) against Torres, he would get caught (which he did). Torres is fun to watch. With his bony little arms and legs working the ju-jitsu, he’s like some evil vine-monster that snakes into the crevices of his opponent and puts them out.
There just wasn’t a long enough fight to be truly impressed with Garcia. With quick knock-outs, you’re never really sure if it’s domination or a lucky shot. I need to see more. But he should be good for WEC. He seems to be kind of annoying and a bit of a loudmouth. Which is good, those type of guys always put a little spice into an event. Fun night overall.

Tom Vaughn used to be a trainer at Jacksons right??
i dont think Rob looked like himself he wasnt aggressive and was just getting tooled by Varner, I really do think Rob would have finished him in that chance he had. Imagine what would of happened if Rob would of hanged on and spit out his mouth piece and asked for a time out, how can Azzagatti not give it to him also you know. Not taking anything away from Varner he was winning the stand up but, i think there should be a rematch in a few months after fighters rest properly.
