you dont get into fighting for your health, you do it for the money. yes, some people will try to sell you on the whole, "i do it b/c i love it, damn the rest" type attitude, but i promise you, if it didnt pay, they wouldnt do it. that mortage doesnt pay itself! yeah, im going to work at jamba juice for the rest of my life so i can have enough spare time to train for my fighting hobby (thats what it is if it doesnt pay), just b/c i love cauliflower ears, roid rage and being a gym rat. yeah chicks totally dig all those qualities. please, we all know the types of contracts the ufc hands out- and its a sport that doesnt require a lifetime of participation just to stand out, and still probably never have a shot in the pros- its fighting for gods sake. dont get me wrong, i defend mma as the holy grail of athleticism, conditioning and endurance, but it is easy to get into, unlike to nba/mlb/nfl. go to militech camp for a week, if you get invited back, then your foots in the door. wam bam. later.

i love listening to the winey little internet trollers trying to bash fedor. the fact is, you cant. do you honestly think he is trying to dodge bullets? do you think mirko or randleman, mintauro, belfort, liddell, couture, coleman, jackson, silva (any of them) or rua, seriously do not want to fight only the top? you people are so niave`, this is what happens in business. you get to a point of legendary status, have huge earnings potential. you are from a small impoverished russian town, but are now internationally famous. do you capitalize on your success or stand by humbly, being the marter? please. he is under contract with m1 so they call the shots. when his contract is up, then he calls the shots. that includes more US fights, more money, etc... but not until then. for now, he is obligated to fulfill his end of the bargain. if m1 wants to build a show around him and pay him a ton of money for probably an easy win, then yeah, if i was fedor, id be on board. especially because he probably doesnt have a say in it anyway. he will fight all the people we all want to see him fight, just maybe not this year. my only concern is i want him and his fantasy opponents to be in their prime, top shape. i think a couture fight now would not do randy any service, nor fedor. the people we all want to see him fight are on their downhill slide. look at liddell and wanderlei as the most obvious example. btw, when the hell is randleman getting back in the cage?! he needs to drop the tapout promo crap and sign up exclusively with the ufc. it would kill me to see another great fighter get strung along like fedor, teased with big shots, but always kept on the outside. the show is groundbreaking in the way that the finale has a predetermined opponent. lets just hope this whole thing is over quick so fedor can get back to the real business at hand- US domination. fyi fedor haters- check out wikipedia, his all time record is there, then kill yourself for being so fucking stupid. while all the greats cannibalize their careers fighting the same greats over and over, eventually having a record of around .500, like randleman and coleman, he has beaten them all, multiple times. he has never backed down from a fight, and dominated them all. look at his record. i would fight a seemingly circus like character (min) too for that kind of jack, please, mo money bitch!

Barnett won't take the fight with fedor because he wants fedor money, thats why Fedor will most likely fight arlovski next, still a good match-up.

It seems that the heavies are more interested in show business than fighting. Couture and Fedor are quite the prima donnas now. The two should join forces if they really want to buck the UFC's dominance. The UFC is weakest in the heavyweight division, so what young heavyweight would welcome the opportunity to train with Couture and Fedor. It seems that egos are getting in the way of making history here, and than includes Dana White.

To all the Fedor haters I have a simple request: Shut up please.
yes its true that he has fought with cans in his carreer but everyone has fought with cans in a point of his carreer for example Big nog he fought Enson Inue, Valetijn Overeem and Bob Sapp, and another example is Randy Couture who lost to Enson Inue and Valentijn Overeem (both times in the first round).
And Fedor is active again and he will fight with a top ranked heavyweight who is Tim Silvya in july, and according to his manager he will fight in october against the winner of the fight betwen Rizzo and Barnett or the winner of the fight betwen Arlovski and Rothwel, and in new year´s eve in a superfight.

I’m not the biggest UFC/Zuffa (Pride “was” #1), A-Friggin_men to that!!! I am so pissed that UFC "bought" Pride, destroyed a gargantuan Japanese entertainment entity to cherry-pick their best fighters, throw away the better rules, piss off a whole nation, f-up getting Fedor, kowtow to sponsors (this knock out brought to you by Burger King@???!!!!!) and not make a deal to have the best color commentary team ever (Bas Rutten and Joe Rogen---MMA Gold). There are so many dropped balls I feel like I'm watching the GD Mets instead of one of the best MMA outlets ever. Watch out Dana, Mark Cuban is knocking down your door, babe.

yea i agree it's crazy to dis fedor's competition, but at the same time i'm not down on sylvia either. he's not well rounded but he's big, good at what he does striking and takedown defense. Nog was better. Herring is awesome I agree. He clearly beat Kongo. the split decision was ridiculous. if the fight contniued Kongo would have been barfing blood - although he's a tough guy and took a shit oad of knees and stilll looked OK - but was outgunned outclassed by herring , the more welll rounded.

fedor is not fighting cans. lindland gave rampage one of the best fights - a draw or even a ddecision for lindland would ahve not been surprising. choi is not a joke either. neither is hunt. watch some of their fights.

In a way if fedor loses it could be to a freak like choi, hunt, sylvia - if they land that big one and finish.

anyway i think that fedor should fight barnett - more deserving of a shot than couture as he has a better record against better fighters iMO and also s he annhilated couture. Are they friends does fedor not wanna fight him. I've always though he has the best shot , along with werdum and now gonzaga who could be a tough match up for fedor., big hits/kicks hard....

The american baseball is not 'the world series' nor is UFC the 'world championship' and god bless america - but it's just a nation - not the centre of the planet
