Get another dose of Kimbo Slice tonight when he appears on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” at 12:05 a.m. ET on ABC. He’ll be a special guest on the late night show, discussing his upcoming fight with Tank Abbott at “Street Certified” on February 16 and more.
Abbott actually did the same show a couple weeks ago and offered this statement up as his thoughts on the fight:
“I don’t care about how much he runs or how much he lifts. He’s got to worry about what I’m doing. And he can think about that when hes leaving on a stretcher.”
Typical Tank Abbott talk there.
Kimbo, on the other hand, hasn’t been shy about talking shit himself, either. Basically, it has been a back-and-forth war of words for a couple weeks now and tonight Kimbo gets a live national audience to express his thoughts.
I’m sure he saw the show when Tank was on and it should be interesting to see what he has to say about his good buddy when he gets his turn to talk tonight.
Set the DVRs if you have to, but definitely don’t miss it.

Man… how much hype and coverage for this fight
If I catch it I’ll watch it. If not, I might watch it on youtube. lol
Wow mania…u just Punked me!
He’s only 1-0.
Who cares?
who cares about convicts?
ViolentMike: I was just reading some old threads. Props for bringing Koko B Ware into the convo….Priceless. Black dude/white hair/ and a Parrot….doesnt get any better then that.
there getting alot of press for this fight
Nothing like watching two unskilled fighters compete! Oh, wait, you can get that watching every Kimbo fight on Youtube already…
I think …Tank has a fair chance to win this fight. because he has a strong punch…and kimbo likes to go in and try to nag with him…he will get caught and he will get dropped…tank has a strong punch…look at what he did to cabbage off of one punch and cabbage has a chin for days!!!!
Check out the highlights from one of my favorite UFC matches of all time at UFC 37.5 Vitor vs. Liddell.
Enjoy:

I cant beleive how much hype this crap of a fight is getting. A has been versus a not so up and coming wannabe. Aside from the Kimbo-Mercer fight, this has got to be a leading candidate for worse fight of the year. Is that all Kimbo is going to fight are street brawling has beens and ex-boxers? Who’s next for Kimbo, Peter McNeely? How about UFC 5 veteran Ernie Verdecia (your’e like, Who the F*ck is that, and thats my point). Too much hype for a fight that will get more views on youtube or myspacetv than when it actualy happens. Kimbo is bad for MMA.
Maybe Lesnar will fight Kimbo next. Brock needs a win to get that hype machine rolling again.
Kick his ass Tank !!!!
i bet kimbo would last more than 90 seconds against mir.

That would be great… IF KIMBO WAS IN THE UFC!!! So that will never happen.
Just imagine if one day we saw AA vs. Kimbo or Fedor…. it could happen, but he would undoubtedly beat the shit out of Kimbo and I would love to see him fight Fedor
This fight will last about 20 seconds.
should be fun!
He’s getting some nice exposure and with his internets fame he’s becoming a “cross-over” star.
Too bad Dana White can’t have him and because of that just badmouthed him. dumb move.
Imagine Brock Lesnar vs Kimbo Slice in UFC, all PPV records would be broken.
He just has to win against Tank, which he should
this fight is interesting. Bas Rutten has nothing but good things to say about Kimbo, which says a lot.
although with Tank being a 4:1 underdog, i’m tempted to put some money on him.

What do you expect a guy who’s training him to say. “Man, this guy sucks. He fights nobodies. I hate training this guy. He has no future in the sport.”
Come on man, dont buy into the hype. He’s bad for the sport-another goofy freakshow that will never be a contender or hold a real title.
Why is everyone counting Kimbo Slice out? Because he got famous knocking people out on YouTube? Or is it because he’s going to knock out a washed up Tank Abbott? It’s obvious that he’s green in MMA but he’s still an exciting fighter. I hope you doubters watch this fight on an empty stomache because you’re going to eat your words that night.
Fight some real competition Kimbo, for fuck sakes.
Here’s the Tank interview:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ueTr–nG94
These two fellows will likely put on a better show than most UFC new comers. They are fairly evenly matched and will likely bring it until one guy is out cold. That’s what I like to see. Its all about the match-up boys and girls. Watch it, you will be glad you did.
i bet kimbo is going to come out and try to prove to everyone he’s turning into a smarter fighter…he’s not going to just try and stand in the pocket with tank and throw bombs for 45 seconds until someone goes down, thats too much of a gamble…he doesn’t have to prove he can knock tank out, we know he can do that…he also doesn’t have to prove he can take tanks punch, because he probably can’t, not many can…i think what he wants to prove is that he’s becoming a real fighter and not some street brawler…i’m not saying he’s just going to take tank straight to the mat, he might, but i’m not saying that, i’m just saying he’s going to have a plan thats going to be something other than stand and trade, its going to be more tire him out and then finish it when he’s gasping for air…lets not forget kimbo tapped ray mercer out, and that was his plan in that fight, he didn’t want to stand and trade, he wanted to go to the ground…a lot of people don’t talk about how smart of a move that was to exploit the boxer’s weakness…i think he deserves a little more credit than most are giving him, he’s training hard and i think he’s getting better and he’ll prove it through not only beating tank, but by the way he does it…

If Kimbo had no future, why would Bas even waste his time training him? Do you how many fighter-wannabes Bas has refused to train?

Pat makes a solid point. Bas Rutten wouldnt just waste his time with anyone. Kimbo should win this fight as long as one of Tank’s bombs doesnt KO him first. It ussually only takes Tank about 30 seconds before he’s huffin and puffin and is then an easy kill.

plus there is the fact that everyone else he’s trained with has good things to say about him, such as Mayhem Miller. the Triumph United guys don’t back up just anybody that comes in off the street.
kimbo is unseen
if bas rutten can be bothered to spend a lot of time training him then he must be decent
bas must gets stacks of offers to train established fighters and also big pay offers so i cant see any reason that hed train kimbo unless he truly believed he was going to be good
now I am not a big Kimbo fan by anymeans but seriously if you think Tank has a chance your CRAZZZZZZZYYYY!!!!
Kimbo’s no Pro…….AND for the 10th time Lesnar would kill Kimbo…..
A guy I work with is all “Kimbo this, Kimbo that”. I said until he fights in the UFC against top competition, I don’t really care. If he’s a serious fighter then he should try to compete at the top level.
Mamas Boy, that makes no sense… why would he jump in against top level contenders with little experience in the octagon? He needs to fight some cans and gain experience, which is obviously what he is doing in EliteXC.
I feel that Kimbo is going to be a great fighter with more some more experience under his belt. I don’t know why everyone just calls him a freakshow and says he doesn’t stand a chance… the guy has amazing stand-up and has been training in submission moves and wrestling to up his game.
He is getting old though, so there is only so much time for him to prove his worth… hopefully he can climb up the ladder in EliteXC and move his way into a better promotion such as WEC or UFC. The guy is marketable, and I think eventually it’s going to happen.

Hmmmm…. I wonder what Joe Rogan would call him…
“Man that dude is a FREAK!!” lol… i know what you mean tho, it’s a bit harsh, give the guy a break…he’s obviously game so leave him to it… he needs experience like everyone else. But yeh this fight is so over-hyped, Tank WILL gas..end of lets just hope Kimbo doesn’t so there is at least one person in the cage worth watching

I agree! Bas has a lot going on in his life. He has to see potential in Kimbo to take time away from his busy life to train Kimbo. We all need to stop judging people on there backgrounds…who really cares we just want to see fighters BRING IT in a cage. So what if people were pro wrestlers or street fighters before starting mma…who really cares. If a guy is humble, respects our sport, works hard and then BRINGS IT…Then he should have every opportunity to make it in this sport.
We want to trash people for what they did before mma…Look at Sakuraba, he was basiclly a pro-wrestler in Japan who found himself out of work, and crossed over to MMA…..He then went on to have one of the GREATEST careers in MMA history and revolutionized the sport, doing things in the octagon never seen before: The Mongolian 2 handed chop, passing his opponents guard by doing a cartwheel… I would give anhything to see Sakuraba fight in the UFC one last time. Also, Dana White is one of the biggest sakuraba fans in the world… I never here Dana talk so highly of a fighter thats not in the UFC, like he does when he speaks about Sakuraba.
Fingers crossed that we get to see Sakuraba vs. Rickson at next years new years eve event in Japan.
By the way did anyone catch Kimbo on Kimmel last night… I fell asleep..can I get an up[date from anyone?
I hear that Kimmel asked Kimbo if he was ever intimate with a man….LOL:
Jimmy: Have you ever been intimate with a man before?
Kimbo: No, man, no.
Kimbo: My kids names are Kevin, Kevie, Kevina, and Kevlar
Jimmy: What?

joe rogan is such a moron. i hate listening to him. if he has to talk about a single fighter for more than 5 minutes, he just starts repeating himself.

hey mania, Kimbo is gonna be on InsideMMA tonight on HDnet along with the showXC president.
Tank couldn’t run up a flight of stairs without having a heart attack, and Kimbo doeasn’t have the experience of MMA fighting, so it may look like a circus out there. I would like to see Tank get knocked out. I don’t have a good reason as to why.
