It was a great night, and weekend, I doubt I will ever forget the night I went on Fire and Nogueira won the UFC title. This weekend became an instant classic IMO!!!!!
AND the Giants won the Super Bowl!!!!!!!!! lol

Da Monkey...obviously you did not watch Cote's last fight. He total dominated Drew McFedries. He looked fantastic and ready to take on fighters like Tanner and Okami! Just wait...the Canadians are taking over!

Cote can go rounds with Okami or Tanner...this guy went 3 rounds with Tito Ortiz...Evan Tanner as I recalled lasted.. a mere 33 seconds with Tito Ortiz.
Exactly. Cote is not ready for an Evan Tanner that hasn't fought since when? And has been in rehab how many times? If Tanner loses to Okami, he will quickly sink to the bottom of the division. I think that Patrick Cote's next fight should have been against Chris Leben in a rematch. The winner of that fight would possibly put themselves in position to fight for a #1 contender spot.
I was thinking maybe Cote and Swick? Leben might need at least 2 more wins to solidify a number 1 spot.
nevermind, scratch that. I forgot Swick is WW now. Ok Mike we'll do it your way, lol.
LOL, I waas going to say Swick is now WW, and Leben was kind of a stretch, but with the current state of the MW division, anything is possible... They might as well draw 2 names out of a hat and have them fight to be #1 contender.

The reason Cote is popular now is cause the MW division kinda sucks right now. People like a guy who goes out fights hard and can finish his opponents. As for not being ready for the winner of the Tanner/Okami fight I am sure he is. Like most guys he will have been traning is ground game and it will have improved. He just hasnt had to show it in his last few fights. As for Almeida his BJJ game might be too much for him but if he could keep it standing....

ViolentMike: I went with Sportbet.com! Let me Break down my system for you: In every UFC event, you have to expect a certain number of upsets. Then you look at which "favorites" you think are generally weak fighters. Then I take a look at their opponents. Then I usually designate 3-5 upsets for each event. I made the Boetsh pick not because I thought he was the better fighter, but because I identified Heath as a weak favorite suspect for an upset...I got lucky.

I wish I could have gotten a line on Almeida's fight because I knew he was money in the bank.

During every event I usually place $300-600 on 3 fights, but since I wasn't convinced about any of the fights, I decided to just have some fun and bet as little as possible on each fight $25 on most of the fights and $50 on 3 sure shots, IMO: Lytle, griffin and Emerson. I dont know why I felt so strongly about him winnig, but I just thought he showed heart on TUF and I had a feeling he would win a decision vs. Nakamura. I didnt see the fight, and I hear that he didnt even deserve to win...Guess I got lucky on that one too.

I rarely loose money on a UFC event but I was completly on FIRE saturday night. I never experienced such a hot streak like that one before. Its funny because I didnt like any of those fights leading up to the event...I felt shaky about all my predictions...and then I go on to have the best night of my life(in a gambling sense). Then Nogeuira won the title... It was a great night, and weekend, I doubt I will ever forget the night I went on Fire and Nogueira won the UFC title. This weekend became an instant classic IMO!!!!!
