” I just expect [Terry Martin] to come out hard and try to brawl. I don’t underestimate any opponent, I don’t look down at any opponent. I know that they’re coming in to try and whup me and I ain’t trying to have that. I’m not losing no more fights. Therefore he’s somebody in my way of my objectives to be successful in the middleweight division and ultimately get a title shot and the middleweight championship.”
Marvin Eastman sounds like a man on a mission. He also looks like one after his intense confrontation with Terry Martin at the weigh-in for their middleweight fight tonight on the undercard of the UFC 81: “Breaking Point” pay-per-view (PPV) event. It definitely has me hoping it makes the PPV broadcast between main card fights — it probably won’t last long. The article also details Eastman’s grueling schedule as a fighter and full-time corrections officer in Nevada.

I rooting for Marvin in this one. He needs the win badly. He’s a monster at 185.
Well Marvin we all gotta have a dream.
at least he has sense of humor..
I didn’t even know he dropped down to MW. But I do hope he does good, we need more good MW’s.
Hahahahahaha
I wonder if he knows that he’s always been a stepping stone or does he actually think he was put into fights having dana expecting him to win
hahahahahaha
He has a chance to win this one. He threw lots of punches against Rampage Jackson and to me he had the upperhand a bit on the fight. Or at least took the initiative.
Rampage of course came back.
With Terry Martin, there is always that possibilty if the KO, I think Martin is a great fighter but his chin keeps letting him down. I felt he was winning against Chris Leben until those punches from Leben dropped him.
If it wasn’t for Marvin’s glass chin, he would be a top fighter. The guy is ripped.
I’m surprised he didn’t get ko’d when he touch heads with Terry at the weigh in

Well I don’t think either fighter is in a better position, they are stepping stones for eachother. Both are coming off losses and aren’t in any contention for the strap any time soon, and both aren’t exactly showing huge promise so what would be the point of building one of them up? He lasted longer then I expected with rampage at 205 I don’t think Terry Martin would have made it out of the first alive. Eastman has a far more impressive resume then T Marty lets call a spade a spade. Fight could go either way but I seriously doubt Dana is trying to boost any fighter I think he more or less trying to get one back on track.
you will tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

who cares, man. he’s gotta start somewhere. i’ll be rooting for Marvin.
Good post Shaze. Eastman also holds a win over Rampage although it was a while back. He had a war with Lambert in KOTC that was a close fight but I thought he won it, he brutalized Lambert in one of the rounds. Anyways, should be an entertaining fight.
Ive always wanted to see eastman to do well - he always - ALWAYS puts it all on the line. Whenever he fights in the UFC he never gets a weak opponent, this should be a good fight for him to climb the ladder - if he loses then he’s pretty much done as a fighter in the big leagues id imagine.
They both got suspect chins

Yeah lol. Surprised he didn’t get KOed. He was rocked for sure. Seriously though, I heard he was accidently knocked out in training for Travis Lutter really close to the fight. I don’t know, maybe this explained why he went out with only a glancing blow…He kept it quiet and had they known he would not have been allowed to fight Lutter.
Marvin Weakman Eastman is in a reality of his own..
Sounds like the fight didn’t live up to the hype generated at the weigh-ins. It was the same story with Josh Koscheck-Diego Sanchez: More action at the weigh-ins than in the fight. I guess we can never judge a fight until it happens. Two fighters can have bad blood to last for days, but it doesn’t mean a thing if they go out there and lay eggs all night.
