“My speed and my strength and everything is like retarded right now. In this camp I was just concentrating on explosiveness and speed, and I think that I’m going to be the best athlete in the sport. You’re going to see a whole different person than my old fights. Of course Almeida, in my opinion, is a lot tougher than Kalib. Not tougher, but a better competitor than Kalib Starnes, so it’s going to be difficult. I really want to knock this guy out. If you really want to know how I feel about this fight, I need a knockout really bad. I can taste it. I haven’t gotten the kind of knockout that I want. I want to just be dominant. I want to just drop him…. The prediction … I have to say, Ricardo’s gotta go in one minute and 11 seconds of the first round. I have been shown signs and ‘111′ is the number. KO. Anchor punch.”
– Alan Belcher will look for his third consecutive win inside the Octagon when he takes on veteran Ricardo Almeida in a middleweight tilt at UFC 81: “Breaking Point” on February 2. “The Talent” predicts a quick finish over the Renzo Gracie-trained Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt who returns to action after a three-year self-imposed layoff from mixed martial arts (MMA) competition. If he pulls it off it will be quite a feat … “Cachorrao” is a fine addition to the 185-pound weight class.

Alan Belcher is improving every fight he has.
I see him winning via TKO. He is getting to be more agressive, and I think he will out power Ricardo.
I highly doubt Almeida is as good as Starnes after a 3 yr layoff…obviouly his bjj is better but his wrestling isnt as good (and Starnes struggled to get Belcher down), and Almeidas striking 3 years ago was decent but not great, in short, a knockout early is a pretty good prediction in my opinion
Belcher is a really good fighter. How about the winner of this fight takes on Cote?
Personally, I’d rather have Cote fight someone higher profile than Alan Belcher even though Belcher is definately worthy of that kind of opponent if he wins.
Belcher out of Biloxi wins the fight in the 2nd round.
I agree, give him Cote next. Cote doesn’t deserve someone with a “higher profile”. Sure, he’s won 3 fights in a row. Big deal. He lost 4 in a row before that. He still needs to get at least 2 more fights before he gets a Silva or Henderson.

It sounds like his speed, strength, and his mind are retarded now.
Cachorrao has a win over Nate Marqaudt..let’s us not forget.
Belcher is tuf dude..but Almeida has a BJJ style such like Serra’s that transtions well into MMA. I expect to see Cachorrao come back into the Octagon in impressive fashion.
Do you ‘the 411′?
I believe him. He sounds like hes going to pour it all on in the first few minutes. If he cant stop him he might gas himself out and lose by sloppy submission defense.
If he comes out anything like his last fight and doesnt get caught with a takedown then he should have his ko. His thai boxing looked unreal in his last fight I was very impressed. I hope 81 turns out good.
only if belcher were as good as he thought he was
Belchers kickboxing looked real solid in his last fight - i think hes gonna go on a win streak from now on. Seen as Liddell is a “Kickboxer” i wish he would fight like one, with the kicks, and flying knees - not just the hands
larry - precisely
Almeida via 2nd RD SUB.
an odd yet confident prediction.
Should be a good one

Could comparison between Almeida and Serra’s ju jitsu. Ricardo was always IMP one of the more well rounded gracie fighters. I think he will catch Belcher in something. If Grove put him to sleep with a D’arce then Ricardo will catch him in something nasty causing Alan to tap.
I really like Alan Belcher, but Almeida is top level ju jitsu fighter and not bad on his feet. Belcher will have the striking advantage but I think he wont be able to KO Almeida quick, leaving Almeida a chance to close the distance, trip him, and submit him. This was a good signing by the UFC.

Thats what I was thinking. Then I thought it was a joke I wasn’t getting.
This guys an awesome fighter but is one of the most disrespectful queers in the sport. line him up to fight silva and hopefully he gets knocked the fuck out and put in his place.
interesting prediction by himself, but it would not happen, maybe he will won by KO but not in that time for sure
nibs… so right. He is an impressive fighter, but is a very unlikable character. He is the Tito Ortiz X 2 of the MW division.
