Brock Lesnar didn’t look that bad in his FIRST fight against Mir…give the guy some credit, He’s a former college national championship wrestler and to his own credit he caught Mir with some good shots and took him down with ease also.

I think this is a good match up. Kampmann is coming off a long layoff, and Rivera is coming off an impressive win over Kendall Grove. It could be a good warm up fight for Kampmann before getting back to tougher competition, or it could be a chance for Rivera to pull of another impressive upset. But if Kampmann comes back fighting like he did before the injuries I think it’s gonna be real tough for Rivera to pull out a win.

Don’t get me wrong, I can’t wait to see Chuck fight live, but we are really paying the price for this great fighter gracing our shores.

1) Last year at the 02 (UFC 75) my ticket was £100, this time (85) the same seat is £175

2) Dana stated that the events here in the UK are running at a loss, with Chuck taking a big slice of the 85 purse this will not leave much over for other fighters. So I don’t think we will see any other big names at 85, just fighters that make up the numbers.

I would love to see Chuck beat Rashad’s ass he might do what Tito coulden’t, and thats finnish this one dimensional fighter who actually thinks is real good and an elite lightheavy weight. Rashad “Boring” Evans has one shot to win the fight and thats to take Liddell down and lay on him for 3 rounds but the “Iceman” is pretty good at defending takedowns. Too bad for Rashad i think this is a bad match up for him unless he has a good game plan or something but i doubt it.

That’s exactly what I was screaming during the fight. Actually I was at 81 and he looked pretty good, needless to say he needs alot work though. He’s really behind the eight ball. Rashad is gonna get his teeth knocked out. I can’t wait.

i think rashad will actually win this fight. people sleep on his hand skills, they aren’t chuck caliber but they are better than most will acknowledge. and i think that will help him set up his take downs better than tito could. i think this fight goes the distance and in my opinion that won’t be good for chuck…sorry but it might be time to retire from ufc go to another venue and get paid fighting lesser caliber opponents. just my opinion.

Just watched the Evans-Bisping again last night. Geez…if “Sugar” fights like that against Liddell, Chuck will tear him apart. Bisping held him off pretty well and only just lost that decision, and Evans gassed early. Chuck will stuff his take-down attempts and hit him many times- HARD. Liddell by (T)KO.

Bloody Feckin’ Gutted!

Bisping v Leben, main event!

The only fighters who can replace Chuck are:

Rampage - not gonna happen, fighting Forrest.
Forrest - not gonna happen, fighting Rampage.
Randy - Forget it.
Arlovski - would be nice.
Anderson Silva - maybe
Gonzaga - please god not again

There is not another sport in the world that has fans who bitch and cry more than MMA fans. “The UFC should do this instead!” “The UFC doesnt do this!” “The UFC sucks” “This card sucks!” What a joke. Sounds like a few of you should take up being fans of figure skating instead because they could have just scratched this card altogether. Then you wouldnt be watching anything for a month. Yep, hardcore MMA fans. Would rather watch nothing then something less than a B card on spike for free. Clowns…

Do you have any idea how hard it is to find fighters on short notice? How about trying to replace chuck? Those are some of the biggest shoes in the world to fill, and you are complaining that they found James Irvin? What would EliteXC do if Kimbo got hurt? Then they would be up a creek because they dont have anyone else to fill his shoes.

My hope was Anderson and Okami, or AA and Nogeria.
But im still ok with the card because i love MMA. And any MMA i get for free, i will watch because any competition is better than no cometition.

I don’t know why people are so down about this card. It looks pretty damn good so far if you ask me. I would rather see a card with a lot of good fights, like this one, than a card with one or two good fights and the rest are predictable or boring, like 83.

Poor card when you compare it against the next event UFC 84, BJ/Sherk, Tito/Machida, Wanderlei/Jardine & Silva/Mendez.
Who knows though, given how unpredictable mma is, it may pleasently surprise us & be a sucsess…… personally i’m not holding my breathe.
Also am i the only one who thinks ufc are missing an opportunity to stage annual grand prixs like they have done for some time now in Japan?
For instance if UFC 85 in London was say the first round of a GP i don’t think many people would complain.
Surely it would give non top tier fighters the chance to shine & put themselves on the map???
Just a thought…………..
Also i can now see Chuck v Shogun being back on later in the year…… fingers crossed.

TYSON, what you gotta realise is that most UK fans never thought they would see Chuck fight live without having to travel to Vegas, I would say at least 80% of UK fans that bought tickets to 85 bought them because Chuck was fighting. Most really could not care less who was on the undercard and now Chuck has been snatched away from us, 85 is basically a big batch of undercard fights with no main event. Chances are we will never see Liddell fight in the UK and that is a kick in the Betty Swollocks. So close and yet so far!

Davis vs Swick

This fight is a win win for Davis. Its hard to say which Mike Swick shows up but I really dont think it matters in this fight. Davis is a much experienced figthter at this weight and has proven that he has 1 punch ko power at 170. I say Davis by KO. Maybe round 2 …….no ……..late 1st RD.

How about the winner of Davis/Swick fight the winner of Huges/Alves. Maybe a couple of interesting matchups.

I love MMA and UFC is the pinnacle of the sport. I was totally dismayed when Chuck pulled out, then Leben, then Irvin which forced Evans out too.
I paid top dollar £750 for each ticket because Liddell was on the card. I’m a bit pissed at how its turned out but still really looking forward to it. Hughes v Alves will be a really good fight and I’m looking forward to seeing Vera fight.
It still beats Cage Rage hands down, which is the only other credible cage fighting in the UK.
There are only 2 fighters across all weight classes in Cage Rage that would put up any kind of competition in UFC. Masakazu Imanari and Belfort, who we all know is world class.

This card is full of boring matchups.
