MARK my words
this is a new era
the bj penn you have seen in the past is no longer
he has quit drinking since nov 06
came into the jenz fight looking phenominal ready for 7 rounds easy
came into this daddy fight ready for 9 easy
when this kid says hes gonna do somthin he does it
the bj penn you have seen in the past that beat hughes and gave GSP a hard fight was a penn driniking tequilla and eating mcdonalds 2 weeks before the fight
that was his cuttoff time to start taking it serously 2 weeks to get ready for all these guys. and still comin in like a bat outta hell.
I am here to tell you THERE IS ALLOT OF GAS IN THE TANK today and it is only getting better.
he runs 10 milles daily and is in the gym 5 days a week
the world will soon see.I know its been so many years that he has entered the ring with just skill and talent.BUT now is the time.I have seen it personlaly in his eyes.no more jokes no more taking this sport lightly. He now realizes if he wants these BELTS he asctually has to work hard for it like everyone else.

Best pound for pound fighter on the planet... imagine how good he'd be if he had Sherks work ethic (minus the roids).
Best P4P fighter in the LW div.

Penn still has to avenge his lose to GSP in order to take the P4P title. Which he might acomplish who knows. But the ball is in Penn's camp.
See your point and there will be a lot of calls for Anderson Silva but thats the beauty of pound for pound.

BJ is naturally a lightweight and it is a testiment to his pure ability that he can move up to W/W and give GSP such a good fight.

Basically all he does when he moves up is put on fat...we all saw what an out of shape smaller man did in the first round with GSP.
Yea, BJ was chubby before and still kicking *ss is much heavier divisions, now BJ will put the weight on right, lean muscle not fat, i bet anything that BJ never appears out of shape again. Get over it, GSP got knocked out by Serra right, do Penn fans bring it up everytime theres a GSP blogg, no, so why do you come in here talking about something thats in BJ's past, he looks awesome and its stupid of you to think that hes gonna get in that good of shape for warm up comp like Jens and Joe and then not take Sherk seriously, get real dude, the "out of shpe" arguement is out the window. Tell Sherk he has to make it past the second round before he can think about wearing Penn down in the 4th and 5th. You're not GSP fans you're Penn haters, this is a Penn blogg, go talk good about GSP somewhere else, but dont come here just to talk bad about Penn.
It has nothing to do about hating Penn (I like watching his fights). It's just that his fans see an alternate reality when it comes to BJ Penn. Bj was kicking ass in heavier divisions? Where have you been? He lost BOTH of his last 2 fights in a heavier div. I heard all the excuses (he gassed, he got injured,he burnt his legs out). Well that's what happens when you fight someone with strength you can't deal with and he will have the exact same problems with Sherk. Penn has an innate advantage with his flexable joints, unfortunatly the most flexable guys aren't the strongest ones,or the ones able to add muscle easily. So if Penn moves to WW expect to see a CHUBBY Penn.

Thats Penns first (almost short term goal) i think, he's looking to do much more then just that and make much more of an impact on the sport then what will probably only take him 2 years at most to accomplish (Or atleast get an opportunity to accomplish). I want to see Penn and Machida rematch, im sure Penn wants to avenge that loss just as much as the GSP/Hughes losses. Especially if Machida is still undefeated when the chance presents itself, hell, Machida could even hold a belt and we all know that Penn wants belts more then vengence! A Double threat to Machida!!
But i guess the Gracies dont know shit huh . . . Penn Haters!!! F*ck Huerta! Are you guys serious, the dude almost lost to Clay Guida, couldnt put that smiling freak away, and Alberto Crane is all i have to say. Arguement won. With BJ its two Gracies, a Hughes, a Gomi, a Stevenson, a Din Thomas, a Uno knockout/and a 5 round war, a 5 round war with Pulver, a Serra, two 3 round wars with a GSP and a Machida (at 205!) (both in heavier weight classes and both barely beat BJ!!) LOL Roger F*ucking Huerta! BJ trains with huge training partners like Tony Dezousa and Charutto Varissimo (both gigantic compared to BJ and he puts them away all day, BJ's the man!!
Not to mention the recent demolishing of Jens Pulver besides their 5 round war years ago, and BJ also beat Dwane Ludwig right after Ludwig had beat Pulver in Pulvers prime. So BJ lost a 5 round war, then when Jens wouldnt fight BJ again and left the UFC he got knocked out by "Bang" Ludwig and BJ went and saught Ludwig out since Jens wouldnt fight him again and subbed Ludwig in under a minute!

i think he is just stright up over rated how can u be p4p if he can win past the 2nd round step up the cardo and then he might be in ther with gsp, huerta, fisher not to say bj is not good he b/c he is great but u cant call some one great until he can show he is good past the 2nd round!!
Are you honestly saying that Huerta is a better pound for pound fighter then BJ?

The Same guy who struggled to beat Crane? He has competed in every weight clas from 150 to 205 with the excpetion of 185. How can he not be one of the best pound for pounds? That is insanely outrageous comment! Penn finishes fights and Huerta goes to the cards on 4 of his 6 fights and he is the better pound for pound. Sorry but that makes me laugh. Punished for finishing fights!
BJ faught the 5-0 (At the time) Rodrigo Gracie at 185 and beat him. Then after losing a split decision to Lyotto Machida at 205 (Also undefeated when BJ faught him, 8-0) BJ faught Renzo Gracie at 185 and beat his *ss too. Remember, even the gracie family started to call BJ the "Gracie Killer" and Renzo is on video (YOUTUBE) saying "BJ should have been a Gracie, but he turned it down, he turned us down." Now thats a compliment!!!!!

You mean when Penn thumbed GSP in the eye, then broke his nose when he couldn't see it coming? I'm not saying that Penn scored the eye poke on purpose, but it seems to happen a lot in his fights... He IS a great fighter though. Penn vs. GSP 2 would be a totally different fight though, GSP by TKO in the 2nd.
