Believe it or not (based on the lack of collective enthusiasm) UFC Fight Night 12 takes place about 24 hours from now and the fighters all tipped the scales this afternoon at the the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, for the official weigh-in.
Former middleweight contender, Mike Swick, had no apparent problems making weight for his welterweight debut against Josh Burkman in the main event of the evening.
In fact, the entire field of all 18 fighters made their respective weight limits with apparent ease.
Here are the official results via UFC.com:
170 lbs.: Mike Swick (170) vs. Josh Burkman (170)
185 lbs.: Patrick Cote (184) vs. Drew McFedries (185)
155 lbs.: Thiago Tavares (155) vs. Michihiro Omigawa (154)
155 lbs.: Nate Diaz (155) vs. Alvin Robinson (155)
155 lbs.: Kurt Pellegrino (155) vs. Alberto Crane (155)
155 lbs.: Gray Maynard (155) vs. Dennis Siver (154)
155 lbs.: Cole Miller (155) vs. Jeremy Stephens (155)
155 lbs.: Corey Hill (154) vs. Joe Veres (155)
155 lbs.: Matt Wiman (155) vs. Justin Buchholz (155)
*Note: Fighters are allowed to weigh one pound more than the division limit in non-title fights.
There should be a video highlight package of the UFC Fight Night 12 weigh-in available soon, which we include in this post as soon as possible.
Reminder: The televised portion of the SpikeTV special begins Wednesday, January 23, at 9 p.m. ET. We will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, round-by-round coverage of the main card action at this time when the event begins to air from The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.
UFC Fight Night 12 quick results, however, will begin to flow earlier than that here at MMAmania.com at about 7:30 p.m. ET with the prelim fights.
Feel free to hit us up before, during and after the show for some good discussion and coverage — it should be a nice night of FREE mixed martial arts (MMA) action.
See you all tomorrow right here at showtime.

I think the lack of enthusiasm is because it’s taking place between two PPVs that are only two weeks apart. Maybe they should have had this card in mid-February since there’s a month between UFC 81 and UFC 82.
It’s actually a pretty good card that has some potentially exciting fights. I’ll always tune in when Tavares is fighting.
how many lightweight fights can there be on one card geez….its like 7/9 fights are at 155 haha
This is probably going to be a better card that UFC 81. I really like how Patrick Cote came in at 184, I think Cote has found his niche, and I think Patrick is taking the fighting game a lot more serious now. But I still think he gets crushed by McFedries. McFedries has the heaviest hands in that division. Period.
Swick vs. Burkman is going to be good. Burkman gassed terribly his last fight against Forrest Petz, and lets hope he does not do that in this fight or Swick will finish him. My pick is on Burkman.
I want to see Corey Hill and Matt Wiman terribly.
Does anybody want to bet me money that Cole Miller and Jeremy Stephens will be the fight of the night?
Alvin Robinson will defeat Nate Diaz and show that the TUF fighters after season 2 really are not that good.
I am tired of all the critics about the cards and Dana. The fights are all great and this card is no exception. Dana is running a business and nobody runs one without some fork in the road.
Jeremy Stephens and Cole Miller will be fight of the night

That may be true, but I think Jorge Rivera’s KO took something away from Cote’s last win. I think he showed how truely weak Kendall’s chin actually is.
I agree about McFedries, though. I’m glad he’s finally healthy, and I can’t wait to see him get back in there and start throwing.
Does it really air at 9 ET? My Comcast on-screen guide is saying it starts at 10. Can anyone confirm?
An excellent free card. I think that Cote is evolving into a force to be reckoned with.
i hope cote wins, i say if he wins give him the winner of bisping/mccory
i hope we see the quick of swick
i saw something funny and kinda sad… on the “info” for pros vs. joes (on my tv) it said ufc champion kurt angle
i died a little inside

This is well put. These are definitely solid matchups and I’m not just excited to see Tavares. I am curious to see how much Corey Hill has improved. I am also curious as to how he managed to weigh in at 154.
I hope they show the undercard fight between Matt Wiman and Justin Bucholz on UFC Fight Night this week. I’ve seen Bucholz fight in person a couple times and he is on crazy dude. He sure is going to have his hands full with Wiman, but I hope he pulls of the upset.
I can honestly say I could care less who wins or loses on this card but I’m sure most of the fights will be entertaining.
I think this card is very good, and it is FREE. Should be some exciting fights.
Anyone have any good Swick-Burkman analyses? I’d pick Swick just because I’ve seen him more and haven’t seen hardly any of Burkman. I don’t know how Burkman matches up to him though, does he pose any potential challenges? How are his takedowns? And how is Swick’s takedown defense? Etc., etc… Thanks everyone!
sorry off topic but I just got my tickets for the Ultimate Fight Night 13 in Colorado today, and since it’ll be my first time going to a UFC event, do you get to meet the fighters? and if you do is it some kind of meet and greet event or can you meet them at the weigh ins? anyone whose been to a UFC event if you could tell me that would be great.
thanks
They’re all free for me, so that doesn’t matter. But it does look like it could be a good night of fights. Might just be me, but Burkman doesn’t look all that confidant in that pic. lol

KP video
It’s free, so I won’t complain.
I don’t get how burkman, stephens, mcfedries and kid robinson can be the underdogs in their fights…
If Swick wins this opening fight at 170 I feel like he and Marcus Davis should square off next… It makes sense because they are both fighting around the same time (similar recovery period), and both fighters want tough competition…
If Swick proves himself to be a force at this weight class, what the hell is gonna happen to the AKA camp? I can realistically see him leaving AKA and joining a different team. The reason I suspect it might be Swick is that Koscheck and Fitch are very close friends. Kos even said that Fitch gives him the most trouble in training…
As for the rest of the fights on this UFN card… I gotta say its pretty damn impressive… A lot of great matchups… I’m especially keen to see how McFedres performs after the loss of his mother…
A few people have said that Drew wasn’t really all that close to his mother… But it wouldn’t surprise me if he was… And the guy is a complete nutter so I’m expecting fireworks!
I’m pretty gutted that we cant see the under-card too… But shit happens…
wow, swick looks great. he shouldve been at 170 all along
WATCH OUT FOR BUCCHOLSZ!!!!

Based on the card, the last PPV should’ve sucked - but they were great fights! I think we still struggle to differentiate between good fights and good fighters. Two no-names can put on a great show while stars can put on a snoozer (like Koscheck vs. Sanchez, Wedrum vs. Arlovski, Vera vs. Sylvia, etc.). I don’t think anyone can predict whether a card will have good fights, no matter how good or bad the matchups look on paper.
am i the only one that thinks stephens will kick cole millers ass, and i think cote is finally on track he was doing damn good against doerksen and got caught, alot of ppl tought he won against leben (not me), and lutters just straight ass rapped him in the ground but, hes a tough mofo, he will come in and bang with mcfedries and i think cote will get the best of the exchanges and put drew to sleep. also robinson will overpower and expose diaz. abd Tavares will reign supreme. swick and burkman i think might go to decision, both guys have taken damage and havent been knoced out recently, i give the wrestling edge to burkman but the ground game to swick and standing it kinda even classic speed vs power burkman will get the takedown and pound away alil bit and swick will get back up other than that i see a decision. mmmm swick

I’d agree with that. Or I’d set up a Swick/Diego, Davis/Koscheck or vice versa matchups. I think all of these guys will be having their next fights around the same time. (After UFC 82, that is). So, any way they match up those 4 guys is cool with me.

Unfortunately, I don’t know for sure, but I’d assume that there will be some sort of meet and greet at the event.
That’s a pretty sweet lineup for an Ultimate Fight Night card. Should be a good time.
Kendall Grove has a weak chin? He got hit about on the button against Cote, and Rivera hit him in the head about 20 times! Anyone would hit the mat from that. You bloggers…
wow, swick looks great. he shouldve been at 170 all along
Yeah he looks huge frame wise at 170. He’s going to have some serious reach on the vast majority of welterweights.
swick vs gsp early 09, (although, i think gsp would end his carrer at 170 and he would have to try and make 155) lol
Kid is too stron for Nate. He will probably do the same thing to nate that he did ti Jorge. Gray Maynard is my favorite LW. Hes so explosive, has great wrestling, and KO power. hes gonna be a force soon. Swick by KO. Hes too long for Burkman. I dont see why everyone thinks Cote is gonna KO Drew. Ive seen McFedries take some serious shots from Sakara and Kampman and not even get phased by them. Drew is gonna KO Cote.
its official , now i cant wait to see the fights tonight.
I really wanna see this corey hill fight. hes ganna be amazing in the 155 division, show that fight tonight!!!!!!!
