UFC 83
UFC 83 will not take place at the Manchester Evening News (M.E.N.) Arena in Manchester, England, on March 8 despite previous reports that indicated otherwise, according to Brawl Sports.

Apologies, Euro fans.

Steve Seivert reveals today that the show will instead be “relocated” somewhere in the United States on the same date. No official reason was given for the decision. Hoewever, Seivert has an idea.

Here’s a snip:

Hosting a show March 8 - regardless of location - is a very aggressive strategy for the UFC. It’s one week after UFC 82 in Columbus, which has the draw of a fight that has hardcore UFC fans salivating - the middleweight title bout between Anderson Silva and Dan Henderson…. Back to back shows in the states … smacks of over saturation to me, but fans will ultimate decide with their wallets.”

According to the report, the UFC plans to head back to the cash-cow known as Manchester, however, it just won’t be on March 8.

Rumored match ups for the UFC 83 fight card thus far include the middleweight debut of Michael Bisping inside the Octagon against Charles McCarthy and Houston Alexander is penciled in to take on James Irvin in a light heavyweight tilt.

SpikeTV, please.

If this event takes place in Vegas the UFC is gonna have to do a lot better then Bisping vs. McCarthy.

If this event takes place in Vegas, I smell the debut of Takanori Gomi.

Back to back PPV weekends…hmmm. March 8 should be a fight night.
This makes a whole lot more sense, maybe not cents.
March 1 UFC 82 Pride of a Champion
March 8 UFC Fight Night 13 (not UFC 83)
April 2 UFC Fight Night 14
April 19 UFC 83 (not UFC 84)

If they put Bisping on another PPV main event on the East Coast, there might be a riot! This should definitely be a Fight Night.

You guys have the right idea. This event should either be a free PPV on Spike, or simply move it to a weekday and make an Ultimage Fight Night out of it.

As long as it’s FREE I don’t care.

Spike TV baby. Seems to make sense… Less risky because it would be backed by advertising and all, and not dependent on whether fans would double-dip into their PPV budgets less than 30 days apart (highly unlikely).

With as much as I love the UFC, they are putting on way to many ppv’s right now. Why would you schedule two events only a week apart? They really need to start combining a few cards, like the one this Saturday, and get some bigger fights going. Aside from the BJ/Stevenson fight, I’d only watch the others on SPIKE.

Too many PPVs with lower tier fighters headlining. I know they can’t all be Silva vs Hendersons, but give us a break.

What about adding to UFC 83 something similar to the heavyweight ‘eliminator’ going on at UFC 81, with a Jake O’Brien vs CroCop and a Vera vs Arlovski? So after UFC 81 and Kongo takes out Herring, things could shape up in the heavyweight picture by April.

This card HAS to be on Spike. It won’t have a title matchup with all of the PPVs surrounding it. (LW 80, HW 81, MW 82, LHW on hold, WW 84).

It will basically be an Ultimate Fight Night.. that comes the week after another PPV, so I can’t see how they could charge for this.

alright, i take back my post saying i was hoping it’ll be a ppv. this card SO FAR isn’t looking all that hot. it could change though and have some mint fighters on there. time will only tell. but if the card isn’t going to be getting much better, there isn’t much of a reason to really order it. although most of us will get it anyway. hah.

With all the fighters in the UFC, there should be a stacked PPV every month and an interesting Fight Night every month on Spike. Why not? Maybe I don’t understand your attempted sarcasm?

i think you guys to understand how many fighters the UFC carries and the need for them to have fights. Lets not complain. I want to see everyone of my favorite fighters fight at least 3x a year if not 4. If you can’t afford the PPV, go to a local bar, it’s not that hard to find one that carries UFC these days..

This card is hardly worth a spot on PBS let alone ppv. You got the middleweight debut of a fighter who fights midlevel talent for shyte in bisbing moving to a weight class were he still will never see a belt between, Franklin, Silva, Hendo,Nate Marquart. Then there is the Full Size Midget in Houston Alexander who doesn’t know how to do anything off of is back. To my understanding he actually forfitted a fight in PRIDE because he refuse to get on his back when the ref was sliding them over. That is how bad he is off his back.

Also as I type I am watching Bisping rob MAtt Hamill on the 75 replay.

I don’t know if it’s on UFC.COM I didn’t bother to seek out a clear version of it since I’m stoned and too lazy to. Brock really talks out of his ass all the time I hope he gets schooled by Frankie, the guy has no fucking class at all and shouldn’t bother to mention Randy’s name, and this will be the first time you see me actually defend Tim Sylvia, but he really shouldn’t be calling out Tim either. Brock is nowhere near top level and needs to realize this shit quickly.

On another not UFCMAnia, stop ducking me and answer my question. I have been posting the same question to you for the past 5 days and u refuse to answer it! Step up and make a prediction buddy!

I hope I don’t see a change of plans applied to the Montreal card, that would suck. We’ve seen that enough. I hope the Montreal location becomes official real soon.

when will the ufc put another decent card on in britain? preferably scotland this time!! there is more to britain than the english you know! It could be called the BRAVEHEARTS!! Id personally love to see Liddell fight here, it would be amazing. Any chance of this happening MANIA? or would it be too much for the ufc to put on?
