What gets me most is that I think Ed Herman won that match up against Groove. KEndall was the big Winner and has not done anything in the UFC and lost to his one real name in Cote. Herman lost the Tuff series and has bigger names already in his resume. Sometimes I get confused real easily by the actions of the UFC. Are they nursing his ego or what?

I had high hopes for Kendall.. The guy is no joke to deal with – size, intensity and a growing skill set. However, when he gets hit he goes out like a light. That’s not something you can really improve on.

I think jorge can pull this one out(maybe). He’s tough as nails and as experienced as your ginna get. Plus he’s coming off some losses, he needs this win, bad! I think he will have some trouble with the heaght of that skinny bastard, but i wouldn’t be surprised he pulled off the upset.

Its actually quite simple why Kendall Grove is still fighting the likes of Jorge Rivera – he lost his last fight, to Patrick Cote. Although Patrick was on a 2 fight win streak coming into the fight against Grove (his first 2 wins in the UFC after losing his first 4), he was no where near the top of the division.

Jorge Rivera isn’t a total pushover either, the guy has heart and experience. And those are the departments where Kendall lacks. Kendall has all of the physical tools needed to be successful in the MW divison, but he has yet to get his head straight and focused strictly on his career.

Grove was embarassed by Cote in his last fight. If he had beaten Cote, then he would’ve deserved a top-level Middleweight. Grove is destined to be a “UFC gatekeeper” unless he can string together a few wins. If that happens, then give him Leben, or Terry Martin, or maybe even Michael Bisping or Jason MacDonald.
