Anderson doesn’t have to learn to speak English in order to respect the UFC. This isn’t the Ultimate Speaking English Championship, this is the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Who cares if they speak English or not? All that matters is if they give a wonderful show in the Octagon. I think that Gonzaga takes this by Unanimous Decision.

GG is a beast for sure. Randy made him look like a mug thought BUT only after he ACCIDENTALLY broke his nose with a head-butt. If his hadn’t happened the fight could well have turned out differently

I think Werdum is gonna upset GG, you guys can laugh at me now but watch when the fights over.

This fight will do one of two things for Gabe:

1) Win and prove that he is an elite Top 5 HW and a threat to the championship

or

2) Lose and have people once again question the fight against Cro Cop. BUT his 2 fights previous to that were very impressive. Against Fabiano Scherner and especially against my dog Carmelo Marerro. (I only call him “my dog” because my actual dog/pit’s name is Carmelo)

I don’t nessesarily think it is out of pure spite. But I do think it is a little discurtious to be the middle wieght champion and not speak a word of the language that overwelmingly dominates the sports history. Even Ramage tried to learn a little japanese when he fought for PRIDE.

He does sound a little better with his English. I remember the last ESPN interview with him and Randy, it was horrible. GG should win this, he’s confident and talented.

I have trained with and been around Gabriel, he’s a monster in person obviously, we rolled once and I went for a leg lock(obviously I knew it wouldn’t work and he just crushed my toes with his gorilla hands. The guy is not only a beast but such a nice and humble guy. he works hard and one day he’ll get that title. Anyone who says it was a fluke to beat cro cop does not know much about MMA. He looked confident on his feet, he caught a kick took him down, cut him with elbows, then knocked him out. Cro Cop was number 2 in the HW division at the time, it was no fluke it was better preparation.

This is a really easy fight to predict. Both are master submission grapplers so there ju jitsu will cancel each others out. The difference in this fight is Gonzaga’s overall toughness and striking ability. Werdum will not be able to take too many of Gonzaga’s blows, which will ultimately lead to an early TKO victory for Gonzaga…. Joe Silva messed up with this fight, it should have been Gonzaga vs. Arlovski. I think Gonzaga is the perfect beast to bring the fighter back out of Arlovski. When a monster like Gonzaga is hitting you, u have no choice ut to strike back….thats y I think AA vs. GG should have fought!

If he’s a real people’s champion it wouldn’t hurt him to learn a little english. He is fighting in an ENGLISH org. and country. Sure he doesn’t have to speak english to be a great fighter, but most fans like to hear what their champion has to say ,not the interpreter. I do think he’s being a bit disrespctful to his english speaking fans, after all they are the ones that are filling his wallet. Likewise if a english fighter was a champ in Brazil, he should learn porchegese out of respect for his fans there.

I couldn’t agree more, GG has some sick power in his kicks and he doesn’t tellegraph them at all ,so they are had to see coming and even if you do see them and block, they can still due damage,as we seen in the Randy fight. AA vs GG could have been one of the best fights of the year. No way would AA play it safe in this fight,because playing it safe wouldn’t be safe with GG.

Dont you think that if Arlovski was the best HW around that the UFC would have offered him a better contract by now, promoted him more heavily and given him more fights more frequently!? Did you not watch his last fights? He was a great fighter but seriously, he is past it now. GG would beat him. GG dominated Crocop on the ground and even managed to dominate on the stand up trading punches and kicks with him and managing to knock him out! He showed against Couture that his stand up game isnt a fluke even though he lost.

I would take Gabe Gonzaga over Arlovski if they were to fight. I would also take Nig Nog in a fight against Arlovski as well. I would also take Timmy over Arlovski if they were to fight again. Also, I would give Cro Cop and Cheick Kongo a 50/50 shot at defeating Arlovski.

First of all, Gabe dominated Cro Cop before the now famous kick heard-round-the-world. AA has been mediocre of late. A couple years ago he had the hype, the wins, the name recognition, and the momentum to be a long time champion. But that is the past. Let go. Napao is the future of this division. To your credit, I do believe the reason AA isn’t getting his just-deserves is not because of his recent lack-luster performances: but because ,in spite of those, he is still a big name and potentially a big draw for the UFC. With only one fight left on his contract. Dana and his puppetmasters want to make sure AA is on board for a long while once (if) he gets that belt.

Also, I love Anderson; but, agree that he could learn a little English. In a sport where people still chant “U-S-A, U-S-A” I think it might help his image a little. Make him a true champion in the eyes of the masses. He already is in the eyes of true MMA fans. But the guy still gets boo’d when he starts speaking Brazilian after whoopin’ one of our own.

Werdum tkoed GG in the past, and Werdum has fought much better competition than GG has in the past.

Just because GG beat Cro Cop, the single one good fighter he has beaten doesn’t suddenly make him unstoppable. Werdum has beaten a lot better fighters than GG has.

Seeing Werdum TKO him a second time is no surprise to the people that actually know something about MMA other than what has happened over the last year or so.
