“I’m totally committed to returning to the cage injury free and anxious about fighting in England for the first time. It is very exciting for both Ryan and I. We will be making MMA history by being the first father and son to ever fight on the same card…. This is a great opportunity we are getting with EliteXC. Give me a fight or two and I will be ready to fight anybody.”
UFC Hall of Fame inductee, Ken Shamrock, talks about his return to mixed martial arts (MMA) compettion under the EliteXC banner. In fact, the 43-year-old is already penciled in to mix it up at “EliteXC Presents: Cage Rage 25″ on Saturday, March 8, at Wembley Arena in London, England. No opponent has been named. There’s recent speculation that “The World’s Most Dangerous Man” will perhaps challenge his adopted brother, Frank Shamrock, later on in 2008 or early 2009 in a coproduction with the San Jose-based StrikeForce outfit.

WHO CARES!!!
Dude I sent you that.
I do. Jeez, if you don’t want to read about MMA news then what’s the point in coming to this site? Good luck to Ken. I just hope he doesn’t tarnish his legacy.
His legacy has already been tarnished.
Ken via ankle lock
good luck ken sure hope your ready you sure didnt look it in your last two fights
WHO CARES!!!
not me. but not that i matter. the only interesting fights for him are against somebody like frye, saku, royce or someone similarly old and washed up. If he ever fights Frank he will lose lopsidedly.
Ken via ankle lock
Yeah that would be cool. Although i don’t think Ken is anythreat to the Top 10. Still, i would watch him fight.
KEN IS A FREAKIN LEGEND. I WOULD RATHER HE FIGHT IN THE UFC BUT I’LL WATCH HIM WHEREEVER. MMA WOULDN’T BE WHERE IT IS TODAY IF IT WEREN’T FOR SHAMROCK SO SHOW SOME RESPECT. SAY WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT HIS LAST FEW FIGHTS BUT NOTHING CAB CHANGE WHAT HE’S DONE IN THIS SPORT.
HE NEVER TESTED POSITIVE FOR STEROIDS EITHER WITCH IS A BIG STATEMENT THESE DAYS
Respect to Ken for continuing but I wish he had retired before getting smashed by Tito. MMA hall of famers need to learn when to quit.. hopefully he won’t get caught doing roids like Royce.

If you mean you sent me a tip then thanks. I actually saw the press release from ProElite in my inbox first. Keep ‘em coming … it’s always very much appreciated.
EliteXc is trying to get Shamrock vs Shamrock..Bro vs Adoptive Bro..I don`t know if them not being blood plays into onewanting to see this or even caring to see. I wonder if Frank would put his belt on the line in fighting Ken..ratings??
He says he’s finally 100% healed. It will be nice to see someone who put MMA on the map back in the cage again. Even though he’s lost like 7 of his last 9 fights, I’ll still be rooting for him.
It’s sad that those nagging injuries from pro wrestling has taken its toll on his body. No matter what anyone says, pro wrestling has got to be the most grueling sport. Doing what they do once or twice a week must kill your body.

Pro wrestling is not a sport. But, you’re right, those guys are overworked. They do deal with athletic commissions though, but the sanctioning is soft. They work 6 days a week (most shows not televised), with no off-season. Also, many are roided up. It’s ridiculous how many of them die before 40. You don’t see it in any other line of work. Even if you don’t respect what they do, they’re still people, and they deserve to have a life after wrestling. I don’t like how the promoters push their employees, especially Vince McMahon.
Ok, I like the guy, but sometimes you just gotta know when it’s time to hang up the gloves. I admit, he is in great shape for his age, but there just comes a time when all the greats pass their prime. This is one of those times.

Or father vs. son or uncle vs. nephew. There is a lot of circus-like matchups they could do with this situation.

good luck to them both.
tito destroy his reputation, tito is the worst nigthmare of ken shamrock life……….
The sport has passed him by. He needs to hang up the gloves.

Actually I think Ken creates most of his own drama with that hot temper and unwillingness to completely evolve earlier in his career to the type of training that took his brother Frank to the top.
I have wanted to see ken vs frank for ages… hope it goes ahead. Would be awesome even just the stare down… frank would eventually take dominance on the fight but doesn’t matter. kens always game to fight and that makes this an exciting fight.
I hope he doesn’t fight Frank. Frank would put a serious beatdown on him these days I reckon.
i just hope the man dosent get seriously injured!

PhilQNY: I really think that Shamrock vs. Shamrock is going to happen before the end of 2008. But 1st Frank has to defend his title against Cung Le, at the end of March.

Yes Sir..that will by year’s end..I’m pretty sure Frank will be the champ..Chung Lee is good but Frank will be to much for him..I would love to see the rematch between Frank and Renzo to straighten out the outcome of their first fight.

GEEEE I WONDER IF HE”LL BE READY TO FIGHT TITO??? LMAO!!!

Frank is going to take Cung Lee to the ground and submit him rather quickly. Cung’s only chance is if the cocky Frank Shamrock wants to stand with him for a little while and gets clipped by a Cung Lee spinning-reverse-cartwhile-fly-slamma-jamma-double-kick-to-the-head.
Frank vs Ken would actually have my interest. I have watched all of the free EliteXC fights so far, and will continue to do so. However, I will not be ordering any of their PPVS, but I will watch them one week later on Showtime for free. Frank should win the fight rather easily, but both of the Shamrocks are mental cases in their own right. It would be interesting to say the least.
There is site up for Shamrock vs. Shamrock already. The domain was bought by Frank Shamrock. The countdown clock shows it will happen exactly 1 year from now. It was registered Dec 21.
