I think it’s pretty childish of Dana and the UFC to keep Randy the champion just so they can sue him after he fights Fedor. I think maybe if Randy would have went about about this whole situation a little better than he did then the situation wouldn’t be where it is now. But then again who knows. To me Randy has paid his dues and helped this orginization grow so they should just go their seperate ways with no hard feelings.

There’s a part of me that admires and respects Dana White specifically for his vital part in revitalizing the UFC. He came up from incredibly humble beginnings, but the problem I have with him is an apparent reticence to understand that fostering competition amongst lesser fight organizations can only help MMA in general. Zuffa is the 800-pound gorilla. Nothing is likely to unseat the UFC, and while Zuffa is under no obligation to lend growth advice to other organizations, a modicum of respect and diplomacy would be needed in the least.

I don’t know much about Mark Cuban, and Jose Conseco’s name in sports is about as clean as a Hunts Point hooker, but if they have dough, and if they have the hearts, I say well done, gentlemen. Keep giving to the troops, but don’t make a hellaciously big stink about it.

From a purely business perspective, Dana and Cuban are very similar in that they both brought themselves up from nothing to earn their fortunes with highly successful companies. UFC would have been defunct long ago if not for Dana, and Cuban made his fortune by creating broadcast.com, which Yahoo! bought for $4 billion. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if HDNet Fights becomes a pretty big entity in the next few years, and Randy will be a part of it.

I live in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area, and have actually had the opportunity to sit and chat with Cuban. I can tell you all that he is a very charitable man and cares about the troops, regardless of what some people on this thread say. He purchases plane tickets to get troops home for the holidays when they otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford to fly home. He frequently donates Dallas Mavericks courtside seats to troops in the area, and he makes sure that any time season ticket holders are unable to attend a game that the tickets get to service men and women rather than go unused. Some people around the country may not like him because he can come across as a loudmouth at times, but everyone in D-FW loves him.

Who really gives a shit what the circumstances for the charity is as long as stuff is being done for Charity. Both Randy and the UFC do for charities. Why does everybody always try to find shit in the beauty of a rainbow? The writer even says, “Conspracy theorist, conspire!” LEt’s draw some more assumptions based on this article. Jose Canseco & Randy Couture=cycles of Winstrol or Sustanol. No wonder why Randy can still compete at his age. MOntell Williams also must be on the juice that would explain his outbursts on how he was going to blow up a reporters house because he did not like the questioning. Typical roid rage behavior…
