I don’t know about Joe Stevenson anymore. Well, actually I’ve never been a big fan to be honest with you. A co worker of mine has gone to several parties in the Victorville, CA area and has seen him and his wife on many occasions. Everytime he has gone he has been seen with his friends doing some serious drugs. After he’s done he and his wife grab another female and go have a little fun. The second part doesn’t bother me at all, but I am bothered by the fact that he portrays himself to be such a good guy which I don’t think he really is. Oh and by the way…in case there are skeptics as to the true of this story. The co worker of mine is a close friend and does not lie. Go Penn!

LEt’s hope B.J. is taking this fight seriously, he needs this win and Joe could afford a loss. I’m not overlooking Joe at all, he definetly deserves to be where he is…. I’ve just been a Penn fan for awhile now, but B.J. really needs to make a more permanent mark on the MMA scene. Which I know he can!\

GO B.J.!!!

I’m a fan of Joe’s..If you wins it an upset. a la Jens Pulver vs BJ Penn part1..this being in the same weight..just like 6 yrs later..Joe has great skill and is a cool dude..he son is cool..I wish him luck..with the Bj that should up against Jens part2..it’s not going to be good for Joe..but with the year of the upset in 2007..will 2008 provide some gut wrenching mma action?? I hope to see war/bjj clinic between these to a la Nick Diaz/ Diego Snachez.

dude BJ Penn lossing to the best welterweight champion in the history of the UFC in Hughes and to the best pound for pound welterweight now and for the future champion GSP, there is no dissapointment in lossing to those 2, now if he would of lost to like nick diaz, or marcus davis then be dissapointed, not that diaz or davis are not damn good fighters actually im not a big fan of diaz but i know he can hold his own and i really liked davis since the show but i just think BJ is in a whole other level and if he dropped losses to them he would be very dissapointing. All Penn needs to do is stop being so damn arrogant, he was funny at first but damn he is cocky, I like the guy but i picked hughes and GSP over him, i was kinda mixed feeling when he fought pulver but im glad he beat pulver that way jens dropped to a smaller weight class and was really impressive his last fight hopefully he can continue winning and just will show that he lost because he was the smaller dude. anywho i hope BJ takes this one but not that easily that way he kinda humbles out alil you know

It’s alright. think whatever you want. My co worker doesn’t watch the UFC so she didn’t even know who he was. It was her friend at the party that showed him to her because he trains with Joe, and he said he does that crap all the time. However, you won’t believe it anyways. It’s alright though because I’ll get the last laugh when BJ pounds the shit out of Joe.

Joe seems like a class act. UFC needs more fighters who don’t sound like idiots. If UFC is ever going to be a really big sport the fighters have to represent better. TUFC hasn’t helped that with the drunken brawls and destorying things. I blame Dana White. Why does he allow a punk thug like Rob Emerson to fight in the UFC. I watched the news clip from his arrest and was sickened (go to the forums on mmaweekly and you can see a link in the Rob Emerson thread). Anyways, I have a lot of respect for Stevenson. Don’t know if he will beat BJ unless he goes deep in the fight, but he seems like a good guy.

source: http://www.portaldovt.com.br

Boarding to Rio where he will start trainning for his fight with Hendo, Silva was surprised with the words of Hendo saying he was going to whoop his ass.
Anderson said “Did he say that? So I have to train more so the beating is not so heavy. Anyway, anybody who has a mouth can speak what he wants. even parrots speak isn’t it?

Anderson also commented on the possiblity of trainning with Wanderley”I’m friends with everybody, but I don’t think he needs my help. though if he needs I’ll help without a problem”

A) Who cares what recreational drugs a fighter uses in his spare time, as long as they are not performance-enhancing drugs?

B) I’m sure Penn isn’t squeaky clean either. But again, that’s none of our business.

C) I don’t see this being a cakewalk for either fighter. They both deserve their respective #1 and #2 Contender positions in the LW division.

D) For Penn to win (which I think he probably will), he’s going to have to show up in incredible shape, because Stevenson is legit.

Also, for all you Stevenson haters out there, Stevenson isn’t the brightest bulb in the pack, but you should forgive him for that because he’s incredibly classy in victory and defeat. I wish I could say the same about Penn, who I also like.

I used to hate Stevenson, but he’s definitely grown on me, because he brings it every time. He has a HUGE future ahead of him.

I’d love to see Penn get back to his dominating ways. But if he loses, he really has few places to go to from here. You have to realize the significance of this fight. With a Penn loss, the sun could be setting on the Prodigy.

That said, I say Penn submission in the 2nd round. But the longer this fight goes, the better for Stevenson.

I agree they deserve the #1 and #2 positions and I agree with your prediction wagnerav. Don’t know if I agree with point “A” though. I do think it matters wjat recreational drugs they use. These guys are representing the sport and are representing MMA. Some of them give MMA the reputation of being violent and made up of “trashy” people, I don’t think that is the case. Most fighters are good sportsmen. Personally, I don’t think recreational drugs are a good idea for anyone, let alone someone who may be a role model

I have to agree. And Stevenson does bring it in every fight. BJ may be slightly more technically adept and definitely more experienced, but Joe is getting much better and always shows up in great shape. Also, not really sure what purpose the rumor-mongering (ala “Volatol”) serves other than to spread gossip. Unless you saw it with your own eyes, it’s suspect info. But either way, it really doesn’t have anything to do with the fight.

The point was not to gossip. It’s simply that I believe Stevenson puts on a front. Don’t get me wrong I do think he is a good fighter. Not great like an Anderson Silva or Rampage Jackson but he is still really good. He’s strong and has good jitz. He is also very graceful in victory and defeat. It’s him outside the ring that bothers me. I want a champion that I can respect in and out of the ring like Randy. I know BJ is not the best guy on the planet either, but he doesn’t put on a front like Joe does. Just my personal opinion. You don’t have to get butt hurt over it. In this case I would just rather have Penn representing the UFC as their lightweight champion. Well actually I’d really like to see Faber put on a little weight and jump in the division. I think he would make a great fight with any of the top guys in the division.

I am still up in there on who I will be rooting for in this fight. I really like both fighters. But since Penn has been around longer, hence, I’ve been a fan of his for longer, I will most likely go with Penn. Epsecially since a BJ loss is much more critical to his career than a loss is to Stevenson. This is one of those few fights, where I literally have to wait until half way through the first round to decide who I am actually rooting for. I like to root for the underdog, but I’m also not going to root for someone that isn’t giving it 100%. So I have a feeling that I’ll end up rooting for Joe Daddy. What a dumb nickname.

He’s part of this gang of super-rich white kids called Lords of South County who run around Dana Point High and Orange County threatening and intimidating people and randomly assaulting people. The video shows a gas station security tape of about 10 guys jumping two dudes who just pulled in to buy some smokes. Then there is some news coverage of the 21-year-old leader who got arrested, made bail, then got busted for drug possession and was sentenced to 8 and a half years. His dad, who of course is some prominent businessman there, kept trying to tell the judge what a sweet sensitive kid he was. Then he tried to defend himself by saying he shouldn’t go to prison because he was a mamma’s boy who cried at Titanic. Then he tried to blame it on the fact that kids picked on him because his ears stick out so he took roids to make the football team, and they messed up his brain. Then his dad came back and said the city should have more programs to help good kids like his son, apparently oblivious to the fact that his son was the leader and most violent member of the gang.

First of All BJ Penn is G.O.A.T., in every fight hes has fought he has always inflicted the most damage, first guy to damage St. Pierres face bad, even when he lost that bout I tottatly gave the fight to BJthe Judges F… as usual, When He beat hughes the first time messed his ass up even broke his hand on his face, In his rematch against Hughes he was doing all the damage till he gassed, this dude is no joke his take down defense is ridiculous as Randy Couture stated he even had problems taking BJ down. I like Penn because dude taks sh.. and always backs it up, Just Scrap that his attitude. As far as Joe St, is concerned I dont dislike the dude I just cant see him holding the title down his stand up looks bogus and his ground game is lacking, but his guillotine chokes ar good, I want BJ to spank his ass and take the belt, as far as Shrek I meant sherk goes,Lol, roiders should be kicked out of the sport why would you wanna cheat he tried to say he didnt do it, Just like O.J. didnt kill those people come on now, Its like your ass wouldnt have been stripped if that was the case, I beleive they found him guilty they just didnt make a big issue about it caus they didnt wanna ruin his credibility, If sherk fights Penn all he will try to do is take him down and hold Bj down, any how we will see what hapens, you heard.
