Ive had a lot of fun making fun of M-1, but know I'm startint to respect them a little more. I like their willingness to work with other organizations. If more organizations would do this ( Dana) then we would have clear cut champions and wouldn't have to argue about who's the best HW.

I know its all about money, but dana himself has said in the past that he doesn't want mma to end up like boxing. Now that there are 50 different organizations we have 50 different belts. Similar to boxing?
Of course they are "willing" to cooperate with other organizations! They need those organizations because they have no fighters. Dont let them fool you into being the good guy here. They have to have the other companies fighters to survive. Unfortunatly these osther organizations need M-1 also because they are looking for a money to pay the bills. No way in he## I would go into a joint venture with another production. If that would happen, you complain about the "watered" down events now, there would be no need for the best fighters to have to sign with the UFC because they could fight for organization "A" and still fight for/aginst/in the UFC against the UFC guys. All the organizations would have a piece of the pie. Bad precedent IMO to "join forces". This would bring about cards that are headlined by a big fight then the remaining would be just like the boxing undercards.....scrubs.
I have to agree. These other organizations will put together hundreds of mediocre fighters and 1 or 2 headliners. It's going to come down to money, it always does. Everyone knows that "contract disputes" means money, "Respect" means money and thats what it will take to get Fedor or any other fighter in the future. Watering down the UFC with bush league organizations is not the answer.
the ufc has most of the best fighters but where are the great cards you say medicore organizations watering down the ufc and putting on 1-2 headliners thats what the ufc does, all these great fighters but they only give you one or two of them then fill there cards with tuf or worse fighters. at least in pride you would have cards with all the great fighters in one show.

Barnett is a decent fighter for sure. Crocop has his number though.

As for Fedor vs Randy... no chance. But Randy would ass whip Fedor cage OR ring. Even Big boring Tim would jab a boring victory against him.
Shogun... i know one fight does not make someone sh*t but the manner in which he lost to a reality tv winner was embarrassing. A lot of what is being said on here about Fedor people were saying about shogun.

Big Nog... Looked 2nd rate against Herring, think even Timmy will have his number.

Wanderlei... I love this dude but a lot of his big highlights in Pride are against cans. He looked like a fish out of water with Chuck.
Let's not write-off Shogun...he fought with an injured knee. THAT was not Shogun as we know him.

Big Nog dominated Herring, who is a game opponent, for 14 1/2 minutes. How did he look 2nd rate?

Wanderlei put on a show...how did he look like a fish out of water?

Ok, hopefully this is the last post on this topic.

Here's how the Fedor/Randy fight can happen. Fedor must get loaned to the UFC since Dana will only want Randy fighting in an octagon. Dana will not want to help M-1 gain capital or legitimacy so make the match proceeds go to charity.

Then we will really see who wants to fight for glory and who wants to just earn their paycheck.
I've been an MMa Fan for 5 strong years and i dont know about other fans but i really dont care in seeing Josh Barnett.
He was a graet competitor in his day but it's done for him.
Y do people still talk about this guy like he's some type of threat?
I am suprised that someone who's been an MMA fan for a while could so easily dismiss Barnett as not being a threat. The guy is the full package and has been one of my favourite fighters for years. He is without doubt one of the best submission heavyweights out there at least top four, definately much better than Mir. He has standup an excellent ground game. The guy can take a heap of punishment and still manage to sink in his submissions. The only fighter to give him reall problems was Cro Cop and that was it. Randy fighting Barnett is the next best thing to Randy fighting Fedor as far as I concerned, but I think Barnett would take him. Randy is one of my favourites also, but I do not see any area where he is more skillful or at an advantage with Barnett, Barnett is like a better version of him, if you can get such a thing,Barnett has the extra strength and his submissions. If Barnett's lack of competition was not a factor if they were to fight, then I could see this ending the same way there last fight did, steroid free of course. With Dana playing god though, with Barnett and Lindland, real fans who want to see the best fighting the best are missing out, that's why I do not have a problem other organisations like M1 operating, because if Dana does not like someone these are the only places you will be able to see these other fighters in action.
