I could agree with that to a point because a UFC fighter would have to take alot more into consideration when going into a pride fight because they alow alot more than the UFC does, but I think UFC fighters are better trained. IMO

In baseball they can hit the ball alot farther. In MMA they can cave your head in alot more. See the difference. If you let everyone juice ,it’s not fair to the guys who would rather work harder and stay natural, than die at 55 years old(if not sooner) from a life of steroid abuse.

You forgot to mention Chucks cardio was only a 1/4 of what it is now (like when he fought Randy the first time) and you forgot to mention how Chuck WON his other TWO fights when he was over in Japan. Rampage and A. Silva are proof that great MMA (Ring , cage …) fighter can (and should be able to) adapt to a few different rules, your theory is busted. Tito and BJ fought in pride and adapted quite well.

if you watch the fight again, he totally twists his ankle right before he settles in his corner after entering the octagon. and he only threw 2 kicks with that leg the whole fight. i wonder if that had anything to do with it?[/quote]

Well each time Chuck went down I noticed that Chuck was really quick jumping back up and Wandi was to far away to jump on him, I didn’t notice the ankle thing though.

Get used to it, you’ll hear it with Nog all the way to Fedor(if he ever fights Randy). There are a bunch of guys who for some reason always beleived the Pride fighters were the elite and UFC fighters were second tier. When anyone said , they believed the opposite, they were laughed at and considered newbies that only watched UFC. Well ,it looks like those so called NEWBIES , maybe watched just as much Pride as they did UFC and they were a little more observant of maybe not as biased. After having to listen to these guys for the past few years ,it look like they get the last laugh. There aren’t many here, but Sherdog is FULL of them (the Pride experts).

i actually won money on chuck beating wandy, but i wasnt totally happy with the fight. why didnt wandi throw any knees, lots of kicks, or pounce on chuck when he went down. wandi was never that mobile but everyone would agree that he looked stationary fighting chuck that night.

If he was a more marketable fighter, he’d have a title shot already. I think he’d beat Forrest Griffen pretty easily. Dare I say that he’d beat Rampage too. Call me crazy, but, it was that same craziness that made people feel that Rich Franklin would destroy some virtual unknown new comming UFC fighter named Anderson Silva. But, people that have been watching the fight game knew all along that Silva was a threat.

I’m not saying Machida would crush Rampage like Silva vs. Franklin. But I am saying that Machida is probably the smartest technical fighter in the UFC, Blackhouse trained, and deserves a title shot.
