The referee said it was obvious that Guillard’s corner was re-applying moisturizer/body lotion throughout the fight, even after he initially rubbed Guillard down with a towel before the fight ever began. There’s no way to refute the story, as you can see in the video that Guillard’s corner was doing it.

Oh my God! The crowd booed! Most fights I watch get booed at some time or another. Also, why wouldn’t they simply tell his corner to stop greasing him up? Also, I don’t know if that ref should be allowed to ever work again. Huerta threw several kicks to a downed opponent, but the ref just watched him do it over and over again.

That said, the determination of over greasiness should surely be made prior to or during, not after the fight. That’s absurd. It’s not a matter of whether he was greased or not. It’s a matter of its not being good for the sport for fights to be retroactively redecided. How many people liked it when football had no cap on reviews? Fighting can’t afford much of that except for steroid overturns and even then it can’t really afford guys testing positive because of the suck factor.

If Guillard hadn’t been greased up that fight would have been over in the first. Roger had his back and you can see him just sliding off. Still, I think they overturned it based on a terrible job done scoring the fight. That was a ‘Bisbing-like’ home cooking decision.

Or maybe it was a bit too much Soul-Glo. Yeah, that’s it.
