“I’m very focused, I’m ready to go to war. Saturday night, I win this fight or I finish in hospital.”
– Georges St. Pierre mentions during the UFC 79: “Nemesis” pre-fight press conference (via the Canadian Press) that he is prepared to give everything he has during the rubbermatch with Matt Hughes — even if it means going to the hospital. Guess that means we won’t see a tapout from “Rush” similar to Act I at UFC 50 when there was just one second remaining on the clock in the first stanza.

Matt Hughes book - “Lee Murray KO’d Tito - then stomped on his face”
Quote:
…………”I looked over and Chuck Liddell was with his back against the wall, knocking people out that were trying to go after him.
“Then I looked over and there’s Tito directly past me, taking his coat off, going after Lee Murray, and Lee Murray’s backing up the alley taking his jacket off.
“Both their jackets come off, and Tito throws a left hook at Lee Murray and misses, and right as he missed, Lee Murray counters with, like, a five-punch combo, landed right on the chin, and knocked Tito out. OUT.
“Tito fell face-first down to the ground, and then Lee Murray stomped him on the face a couple of times with his boots.
“Then Tony Fryklund and I grabbed Lee and pushed Lee and said “Get out of here!’ And Lee said “I’m sorry, I’ll see you later,’ and took off. And Tony Fryklund helped Tito to his feet.
“Then these English Bobbies showed up and they were threatening to spray the entire crowd with huge canisters of mace. “You think you’ve got problems now?’ I said. “You spray this entire group of fighters with mace and we’ll all be in a heap of trouble.’
“So I talked the police out of doing that. And then Tony and I got a cab and we headed back here.”
“That’s insane, Pat.” I said.
“Long story short, Matt: I’m ready to get on that plane, pronto.”

Yoooo..thx John..Ur the F’n man I was curious to know what happenned. I knew Lee had laced Tito ” Jacob ” back in the day..just didn’t know the details.
I thought that was funny as hell.
I just heard Cro cop is putting on much needed weight. He is already up to 231 lbs, and is trying to get stronger for his next fight which will be sometime soon.
Lets hope this stuborn croation learned how to train for a fight and finds away to get his career back on track. He may be a glorified Kickboxer, but when he is GAME he is still good for some highlite reels
I picked Hughes to win, but we’ll see.

Hope you didn’t bet much on this fight because hughes is going to lose, he didn’t look so confident in the press conference and gsp looked fired up.

What about Crown Royal and Molson, eh?
I seriously think GSP is talking way out of his ass this fight. If this is what his sports therapist is telling him to talk with confindence its not going to work. He is not talking like the normal GSP and in his head I think the guy really is starting to beleive his own hype. If hughes takes the fight to him it will be a long grueling fist for gsp.
How can all you guys say he didnt look confident at the press conference are seeing something that im not i think he is as ready as ever and is going to show it tomorrow!

uhh wrong…crown royal and pam anderson
The last time nobody was giving GSP a chance at losing was against Matt Serra. Everyone thought that if that 1 in a 1000 chance of Serra winning were to happen, it would be by Serra taking GSP to the ground and submitting him, or submitting GSP from his guard. NOBODY expected Serra to win by KNOCKOUT.
Just wanted to remind everyone of that before they go dropping thousands of dollars on GSP.
However, if I had a spare G right now, I’d be signing up to bet on GSP right this minute.

What are you talking about? GSP has talked like this before every fight he WON. Listen to him before the Sera fight, he lost that fight before it even started. He is more confident then ever and that spells a beating for Hughes.
Hell, you’d be crazier than a shit house rat to bet any money on any of these fights.
I want GSP to win and I expect GSP could win, but this is MMA - ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN (and usually does).
How many upsets happened last year alone?
I don’t know why Hughes doesn’t look as excited as GSP, he looks like “whatever”

True, but this time GSP’s cousin didn’t die and his dad doesn’t have a serious brain ailment. One would have to experience the loss of a loved one to understand that you could NEVER be 100% at a time like that. Some guys who aren’t mentally strong like Belfort or Riggs don’t bounce back after a tragedy. Like GSP has said,”what doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger”. GSP is a stronger fighter now and Hughes is going to have more problems, than he did a year ago.

I couldn’t disagree more. GSP is so ready for this. He was humiliated when he lost to lame ass Matt Serra. He wants to show everyone that it was a bull shit fight and he has everything to prove. Hughes not so much. He’s in it for the pay day and gonna get his ass kicked. Probably not as easily as last time but he wont win this fight.
Like GSP has said,”what doesn’t kill us, makes us stronger”.
LOL, I’m pretty sure that GSP isn’t the one that coined that phrase.
But you are right, and I fully expect GSP to destroy Matt Hughes. Although, I’ll be rooting for Hughes…

Link to UFC All Access with Wandi if anyone missed it. I don’t know where i can watch it in England.
Not sure if this will be taken down.
I’d much rather see BJ PENN vs GSP 2, than HUGHES/GSP 3.
I thought he meant finish in hospital like he was going to pull a diaz (when he went after Riggs in the hospital) and chase down Hughes in the hospital after the fight. That would be pretty kick ass, I must say. Not really his character but when a person is determined, they are determined, what can I say.
The correct meaning of what he said though makes much more sense.
He could win the fight AND go to the hospital, as he did after the BJ fight.

What about our religion……HOCKEY & GSP
Hughes can pray to that.
I don’t know why Hughes doesn’t look as excited as GSP, he looks like “whatever”
Honestly, I think its because he realizes that he might lose and he doesn’t want to have his foot in his mouth if that happens..
Also another thing I would like to point out is hughes said that he didn’t know if the short notice that GSP had will affect him in this fight but that he hoped it does affect GSP performance. To me that sounds weak
