Manny Gamburyan

“The Ultimate Fighter is no joke. If you would pay me $100,000 I still wouldn’t go back in that house again. The experience messed with my head. When I left the show I thought I was psycho. You don’t want to be in that house. It’s nuts.”

The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 runner-up Manny Gamburyan (5-2) slams the TUF experience during his interview with UFC.com about his return to the Octagon on December 29 to face Team Curran fighter Nate Mohr (8-4) at UFC 79: “Nemesis” in Las Vegas, Nevada.

He is actually a talented fighter. That fit over the “team Pulver Sucks” grafitti was so over the top juvenile, it seemed like an act. I think he should go to the WEC at 145 if he doesn’t steam roll up the UFC LW ladder

Manny seemed like the more mellow guy in the house.

I imagine being around dickwads all day for a month or so would drive you crazy.

for a $100,000.00 though you could lock me in a house with that lot. Just dont expect much interaction with the spazs.

I dont know where they dig up 1/2 the guys. They always make 2 tiers of competitors. Fighters and idiots. They dont need the idiots there, just focus on some drills they do. And get alittle deeper into how they train. Maybe this would enlighten the viewers as to the complexity of the sport. I would also like to see some out of facility type activity. Real life isnt like that your not in a bottle.

Maybe they should have 20 guys in the house and only 8 get to fight from each side (Show thier representative similtaneously)… The coachs would each put up a kick ass fighter. That would leave each team with 4 guys to use as subs during the tournament. And if that doesnt work use the 4 guys in the finale… (Losers could be sent to a separate house and train under a 3rd coach…) Example (Rampage-Forrest & who ever is the next contender is Rashad/Jardine)That would give some face time to the next potential challenger.

I like his style of fighting. If you watch him break away from the clinch he throws with reckless abandon. In a way thats fun to watch. I think he is talented on the ground as well but would be more suited at 145 in the WEC.
Its a pity his cousin showed up on the set and was the one who went “psycho” gave Manny a bad rep.

The TUF house is like being in a frat house. Partying, drinking, fighting. You have to be tough mentaly going in there if you are going to survive. However, I think Manny was a little of tilt before he got there anyway. Cage fighters have to have some crazy in them. That’s how they survive.

Manny may only be 5′5″ (which is only an inch shorter than the current welterweight champ), but I’ll bet he can at least puntuate a sentence properly.

Manny destroyed two guys that had already fought in the UFC on the show. He manhandled both “Whinin’” Matt Wiman and Joe “The Troll” Lauzon and was on his way to doing the same to Nate “I Talk Like My Mouth Is Full Of Marbles” Diaz before his shoulder popped.

Manny is extremely strong, but he also has the skills to match. I can’t wait for him to get past a couple of opponents and get a rematch with Diaz. Wouldn’t make a difference with all of the haters though. Just like with the Huerta/Guida fight. Guida had his ass handed to him in the third and all of the sack huggers out there are still trying to claim that the “better fighter lost that night.”

Whatever. Manny already fought Sherk to a decision in RSF, so if that doesn’t take any skill, then I guess he has the raw strength of Brock Lesnar.

yeh i dont get why they have a selection of retards on the show…..makes me feel sick really, knowing i would have a solid chance against alot of the reality show guys below MW - retards are allowed on but im not because i dont have a highlight reel or an official fight CV. Theres really 100’s of fighters out there that cant go on TUF just because they dont have a martial arts background but could run through any of the TUF guys…including F.Griffin - just shows that the UFC is the Ultimate fighting… not the Ultimate fighters.

Without the “challenges” that the first TUF had, we lost a sense of the actual fighters and how hard they train. Now we are forced to see guys running at walls head on, fooz ball tables getting thrown in swimming pools, and soft ass wanna bes like Joey Scarola, Richie Hightower, etc.

Bring back the actual physical challenegs a la Chuck and Randy !

u would have to just to keep your sanity…. I agree with manny, its a really tough situation, especially once people start getting eliminated from the competition, they stop caring, and start going nutts.

We all bashed Mac Danzig for months, but I would have been grumpy as Sh*t if this was my overdue chance of making it big and guys r in the house acting a fool cuz they have been eliminated already.

Its a tough situation to handle, but it seems ot have a great affect on the fighters that r able to handle it.

Cory Hill ALERT:

Many of us where questioning what camp Cory Hill has landed with. The answer to that, is the Miletich camp. Check out this interview with Pat Miletich, he has some rather interesting things to say about Cory Hill.

off topic: Interesting interview with Pat Miletich, talking about how much potential Cory Hill has:

IGN: Who do you think is the fighter in your camp that’s off most MMA fans’ radar screens, but has the most potential for future success?

Pat: Corey Hill.

IGN: Oh, from Ultimate Fighter…

Pat: Well, you know, he wasn’t 100% truthful to get on the show, so he went in there absolutely knowing nothing about Jens Pulver or me or Jeremy Horn. It’s funny because Corey Hill looks at me now and says “You were a World Champion?” And I say “Yeah, I held the title for three, three and a half years”, and he says “No kidding.” He doesn’t know a lot about the sport, but his boxing, kicking, his submission stuff, his positional stuff, he’s working on all that, and his wrestling ability and his ability to take people down when he wants to do is unreal. I don’t know any 155-pounders out there who could take him down.

IGN: Really? Not even Sean Sherk?

Pat: Sean Sherk would have a lot of real trouble taking down Corey Hill, mark my words.

IGN: Wow.

Pat: There are wrestlers that are tough and ready for this sport, and he’s one of the best. He’s a rottweiler. No one else has that body type. He’s got wide shoulders and a waist like my wife’s.

Antonio Rogerio “Minotoro” Nogueira (12-3) will make his return to mixed martial arts on Feb. 1 in Canada against Todd Gouwenberg at Hardcore Championship Fighting “Destiny.”

Nogueira was last seen being knocked out by Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou in February at Pride’s final show. He was considered one of the top middleweights in the world, but he has fallen on tough times, losing two out of his last three fights.

Gouwenberg (7-2) has fought in the BodogFight promotion as well as TKO.

Nogueira’s career looked promising after scoring wins over quality opponents such as Kazushi Sakuraba, Kazuhiro Nakamura and Dan Henderson. He had been a star in the now defunct Pride Fighting Championship alongside his brother, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira.

Unfortunately, his losses to Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and Sokoudjou, as well as his long layoff, has caused many mixed martial arts fans to write him off as a top ten middleweight. All of that can change now that he is refocused and ready to begin his comeback.

Also on the card are Ultimate Fighting Championship veterans John Alessio, Derrick Noble and Solomon Hutcherson as well as Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos and Mike Pyle.

I new that u would appreciate that. This kind of enforces the statements made that we would all be surprised with the upgrade of the quality of fighter on the next season of TUF. It was said, that we will recoginize many of the fighters which will be great. If fighters of the caliber will make up the cast of next season the quality of the fights will be sure to increase. Comibine that with the Charesmatic personality’s of Coaches Rampage and Forrest and this makes for a very exciting season of TUF

As a Ultimate Fighter fan ,my biggest complaint is that the producers never end the show properly. They leave the viewer wondering how they left. Also half the time you don’t know that it’s over until the next episode is the final fights.Real life doesn’t end like that and it would be nice to see what the guys tell the coaches upon their exit.
One other thing that drives me crazy is why the UFC never dates the fights? I know they want to be able to show the fights over and over but it would be nice to know how current the fights are .

Holy Fucking Asscrackers! What a simple little bitch! This stronzo not only trains with one of the best fighters, he’s had more than his fair share of time in the ring. On top of that, he’s had the chance to not only watch TUF on tv, but to see the behind the sscenes crap on DVD.

All that having been said, if this little dingleberry didn’t know what he was getting himself into, I have less sympathy for him than I have for the last guy at a gangbang. I may have felt that it was a shitty way to end a fight with a debilitating injury, but now I hope the whiny little bitch figures out how to beat the bishop with his good hand.

And I guess he was a friggin’ saint before he went into the house, right? Or maybe it was really some kind of poltergeist infested Amityville Horror type houses, and the devil made him do it. Then again, he probably had shit on his mental etch-a-sketch that wouldn’t shake off.
Nice. but we are no longer acknowledging Manny as The Anvil or The Pitbull. He is simply Manny “The British Prostitute” Gamburyan because he gets on top of people and moves around just enough to avoid getting stood up but not enough to finish the job.
By that logic, his fight name should be Manny “The Tenured Professor” Gamburyan or Manny “The Teamster” Gamburyan.

How about Manny “Mr. Tambourine Man” Gamburyan, and his entrance music could be William Shatner’s cover of “Mr. Tambourine Man?”

I’m taller than him, therefore I rationalize I could beat him.
