The official line up for UFC Fight Night 12: “Swick vs. Burkman” is set for Wednesday, January 23 at 9 p.m. ET from The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to UFC.com.
Former top middleweight contender, Mike Swick, will make his long-awaited welterweight debut against Josh Burkman during the main event of the two-hour SpikeTV special. Both fighters appeared on different seasons of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) mixed martial arts reality series.
Here’s the remaining UFC Fight Night 12 fight card:
Main card (televised):
185 lbs.: Patrick Cote (11-4) vs. Drew McFedries (6-2)
155 lbs.: Nate Diaz (7-2) vs. Alvin Robinson (9-2)
155 lbs.: Thiago Tavares (13-1) vs. Michihiro Omigawa (4-5)Under card (may not be broadcast):
155 lbs.: Kurt Pellegrino (10-3) vs. Alberto Crane (8-1)
155 lbs.: Gray Maynard (3-0) vs. Dennis Siver (11-4)
155 lbs.: Cole Miller (13-2) vs. Jeremy Stephens (12-2)
155 lbs.: Corey Hill (1-0) vs. Joe Veres (4-2)
155 lbs.: Matt Wiman (8-3) vs. Justin Buchholz (7-1)
There are certainly some solid match ups on the docket, including the UFC debut of Corey Hill and a very tough fight for TUF 5 lightweight winner, Nate Diaz, against Alvin Robinson. The clash between Cote and McFedries (hopefully) will also spark some fireworks.

Thank God Alberto Crane didnt make the main card, otherwise I would puke.
Cote/McFedries will be the best fight of the night.
WATCH OUT FOR JUSTIN BUCHOLSZ. THAT DUDE IS THE TRUTH!!! HE’LL KO WIMAN IN THE FIRST 2 ROUNDS.
Does anyone know anything about Michihiro Omigawa because i thought that Sinosic was the only one allowed in the UFC with a losing record.
Is this a TUF 6 renion?
good fight cards but only 2 hour show?? was hoping for 3 hour like tuf finals but 4 good fights is good enough

Burkman
McFedries
Robinson
Tavares
Pellegrino

dude, no.
swick, cote, and gray will all win theirs. tkos. nate too.
I hope they show the Diaz fight and the Hill fight. I wanna watch the possibilities for the future.
What a waste to have Pellegrino on the undercard.
Why is Tavares fighting someone with such a poor record?
I don’t know much about Omigawa other than results from some of his past fights, but Thiago has proven to be tough. His last fight against Griffin was awesome!

Tavares is young, so I don’t think it’s a bad idea to give him a bounce-back fight to get his confidence up.
Tavares is like Vitor…bring Vitor Belfort back UFC!!!

I agree./…I wanted to see how batman pellegrino bounces back after his loss to stevenson….Ok so Alberto crane isnt the most qualifiedf opponent but crane vs. Pellegrino would be a realy good grappling exhibition……
Predictions:
Burkman via Decision (Swick will probably win but I cant stand him)
McFedries is going to Ko Cote in the 2nd round
I’ll tell u guys right now what the fight of the night is going to be…..Dont laugh, Its gonna be Cole Miller vs. Jermey Stevens…FIGHT OF THE NIGHT…To bad none of us will even get to see it.
This will be a dangerous fight for Nate Diaz. Alvin FRobinson may pull off an upset.
Taveres via TKO
Pellegrino and Cranes ju jitsu will cancel each others out..so I expect Batman to win via TKO, ground n pound
Gray maynard is a real tough kid, who works hard. I expect him to show much improvement from his last fight and finish this fight via TKO ground n pound
Trying to predit the Cory Hill fight is impossible since no one really knows anything about him except that he is as RAW as they get. He has joined a prestigious camp and I expect him to show vast improvement, to what extent, I am not sure.
The Matt wiman fight is also hard to call. Buckholtz is no push over but Wiman is one of the more experienced fighters to come out of that TUF season….This should make for a good fight

John, you have some of the best comments on this site, but how can Maynard improve on his last performance? Wouldn’t he need to knock the guy out on the way to the octagon? He took out Veres in 9 seconds. I think Gray will win, but he’s going to have to work for it this time.
I am going to go out on a limb and say that Veres improves his performance from last time.
Why in the world are they televising a guy that is 4-5 in MMA. I’d much rather see the Cole Miller (13-2) vs. Jeremy Stephens (12-2) fight.

Sacto: I ment to say that Maynard looks better and Better each time he fights and it will be interesting to see how much more he has improved since his last performance. He is never gonna get a better outcome then he did in his last fight, but as a fighter he can always improve and I am excited to see how much he will have improved.
Thanks for the props.

Like I said earlier, that will be the fight of the night.
love this card, wish it was in florida, still disappointed about that…i think the cole miller/little heathen fight should be on the main card, thats one i really want to see, also pelligrino/crane should get some airtime…and i’m curious to see what cory hill brings to his first ufc fight, i hope he gets a win…
Swick vs Burkman who takes it?
Robinson over Diaz
Cote over McFedries…

what do you think about Swick vs Burkman?
I think Justin Bucholz will defeat Matt Wiman. Bucholz fights for ICON Sport in Hawaii. He’s a real exciting fighter to watch, and I’m happy he’s getting his big break.

I agree 100%! This was the fight that jumped off the page for me when I saw it listed. I wish they’d air more of Miller’s fights. There’s a ton of entertainment potential there.
