David Heath (7-2) and Tomasz Drwal (14-2) will meet in a light heavyweight clash at UFC 81: “Breaking Point” on February 2, 2008, according to MMABlog.pl.
Heath was originally penciled in to fight undefeated IFL sensation, Andre Gusmao. However, according to this report, the IFL opted to lock him into a deal that ensures the talented Brazilian will not compete inside the Octagon … at least not in 2008.
Oh well.
Heath will look to pull his record inside the Octagon above .500 against the Polish “Gorilla.” He was choked unconscious during his last fight against Renato “Babalu” Sobral at UFC 74: “Respect” in August.
The controversial result led to the ouster of the Brazilian veteran and to Heath’s second straight loss — he dropped a unanimous decision to Lyoto Machida at UFC 70: “Nations Collide” earlier in 2007.
Drwal was stopped in his Octagon debut against top-ranked 205-pound standout, Thiago Silva, at UFC 75: “Champion vs. Champion” back in September via second-round technical knockout (strikes).
It was a spirited effort that should put Heath on notice. In addition, Drwal was on a tear before the Silva loss, racking up 13 straight wins in Europe against decent competition.

This has to be it for Heath if he loses, right? Admittedly he’s lost to 2 tough guys, but 3 in a row for a guy without a victory over a good opponent should be it. I can’t comment on any of Drwal’s opponents, but he definitely finishes fights. If he wins, he seems like a decent guy to throw on a European card. Especially if he’s knocking guys out.
I hope Drwal takes Heath out in this one. Never was a big fan of Heath and I have to agree with several other earlier comments on him that he needs to drop to185. Plus, I think Drwal is a good fighter who isn’t well known enough to survive two straight losses.

Win or lose, I hope they keep Heath. He’s a gamer and he brings it every time. Dropping to 185 might be the solution to his career though.

I guess you didn’t see the fight against babalu, when Heath got absolutely destroyed. He was left bloody and unconscious. He not only needs to drop to 185, but also drop down to the IFL or maybe Strike force. Oh thats right, Babalu is in strike force(I’m sure he doesn’t want to see him again) maybe just the IFL.

I have to admit that I am not very familiar with Drwal. Not a big fan of Heath. I dunno enough to offer
an informed oppinion, therefore I wont!
I hope to see this fight. When Drawl was scheduled to fight Silva I remember watching some highlight video of him. He looked really good. Hopefully he’ll have a nice KO victory.

Yeah, he was bloody and unconscious but come on. He was game. Definately not in Babalu’s league however. He gave his all.

as this guy aint even top 10 - they should give him 1 more chance - 3 losses and your out of the UFC

Anybody can look good in a YouTube highlight reel. For example, I can make a 20 second clip of the Bisping vs Elvis fight and it would look like Elvis was beating Bisping. Maybe not the best example, since Elvis was all bloodied up, but I’m sure you get the point.

It is not about highligt. His record was 14-1 before Silvas’ fight and most wins by KO so maybe you should make HL of yourself before you comment anything!!
