For those who missed the “major announcement” last night.

Unsure the reason the clip cuts off Rampage and Forrest. Based on the cheese factor, however, I can certainly understand.

Rampage… hold the LHW division hostage.. Repeat Champ. forest has no chance

I wonder what the changes in the format will be for TUF 7. I hope they deal with injuries better. Maybe have a couple alternates or something. I don’t really like seeing guys who lose get to fight again.

At least don’t let a guy (like John) who has already lost to another guy (like Mac Danzig) get the same fight again.

Rampage WILL be bringing juanito on the show with him. i hear that one of the major changes is the qualitty of fighter on the show will be much better next season. I hear that we will already be familiar with some fighters on the show. This will be an imrovement because lately we have seen guys with no fights lie there way onto the show…. not any more.

I hope that Dana would consider not waiting for the show to end to have Rampage vs. Forrest. The filming of the show will probably end in March. Dana should consider having Forrest vs. Rampage after the 4th or 5th episode of the season airs, that way having about 4 or 5 weeks of the show to promote the fight. By this point I am sure all the fans are familiar with Rampage, especially since his fight vs. Hendo was aired for free on spike. Even the casual UFC fans are familiar with Griffin after his epic battle vs. Bonner put the UFC on the map for real! With that being said, I really dont think Dana needs to wait for the whole season to be aired to have Rampage fight Forrest.

All of the fans would absolutly love a TUF season with Rampage, and Forrest as coaches especially since the quality of fighter on the show will be much better than the past shows. We just dont want to wait until July to see Rampage defend his title. If the UFC can have this new and improved version of the show, and not wait until after the finale to have Rampage fight again…It will be a great success.

Please DANA do not make us wait until July to have Rampage fight again, let them fight in May after 4 or 5 episodes have aired….You really do not need 14 episodes over 3 months to promote a fight between Rampage and Forrest. Waiting that long will only hurt the UFC!

We need a UFC heavyweight Grand Prix tournament to declare a new UFC Heavyweight Champion.
Contestants:
Noguerra
Sylvia
Verra
Arlovski
Kongo
Gonzaga
Werdum
Brock Lesnar

Can anyone honestly tell me that this wouldnt be the best format to find a new UFC heavyweight champion?

What do u guys think?

I get what you are saying on this one, but it may be worse to put a guy in as late as the semi-finals that hasn’t fought. I agree with you that sometimes letting guys who lost back in hurts the show. See TUF 3 for an example. I didn’t need to see Ross Pointon lose in both weight classes. However, these guys are fighting fairly often and bringing in a fresh guy who didn’t earn his way to the semi-final seems like a bad way to go as well. Maybe if the alternates had an elimination fight it might work without giving them a huge advantage.

I would use a top8 Grand Prix tourney.

Great Idea John.

I would use Spike UFC Fightnight to have the 1st 2 rounds..then have the PPv event for the title.

Sylvia vs Kongo Kongo vs Big Nog

Big Nog vs Vera Big Nog vs Gonzaga

Arlovski vs Brock Arlovski vs Gonzaga

Gonzaga vs werdum

Forest will most likely get a beating, can’t see him winning this one unless he pulls a serra and cashes in on punchers chance.

The rating are down, but I don’t think that is due to the fights. I think it is due to the same prison house rules, different season same story. Let the guys use the house phone, give them them freedom to venture outside the house, and film it.

I think Forest is comming off the best fight of his life while rampage is comming off an injury sooo with that said i think it’ll be a much better fight than most are expecting. however, i think rampage is still gonna come out on top. he has too much experience and is a better all around fighter.

Rampage is better than Griffin. Griffin is not as good a fighter as Rampage. There, I said it. It is true. Griffin will lose in the same manner that was defeated by Jardine. Jardine has a much better chance than Griiffin. He beat Liddell, and KO’d Griffin, why isn’t he well ahead of Griffin in the standings, and why is’nt he next in line, at least ahead of him for Rampage fight?

Forrest lost 2/3 fights..before beating Shogun in his octagon debut..He lost to Tito, Jardine,..then a decision over Hector ramirez..then he beat Shogun..he is not the number 1 contender for the lhw belt..he is the number 1 marketable fighter in dana’s world to have this title match.

Yep. And whoever will bring the money in is who you will see fighting. Look at Chuck and Wandi. Statistically they should not be the CoMain event – but no one is complaining because of the hype. Dana’s system may not ber fair, but it works. Disagree? Ask yourself if you bought all the pay per views.

I love how Dana surprised absolutely nobody on this announcement. He hyped it up as two big surprises. He uses the first surprise after the fight to tell everybody that the coach is Forrest- the #1 contender for the light-heavyweight title, and he will fight the other coach at the end of the show. Then to plug the video game awards he would annouce the other coach tomorrow. Gee I wonder who the other coach is. The light-heavyweight champion maybe. Next time why don’t you announce the champ, then the challenger- dumb-ass.

I agree as well. Just need to rank them, then create a bracket. Too bad you can’t do it like the beginning of the UFC and have a one day tournament, none of this month here, month there. That would make it more prone to injury from training, etc.. ONE DAY and have it over with!! Hey you forgot Cabbage!

OK, Rampage should feel insulted..

Forrest is a young buck with no brains to feel pain.
So he beat Shogun… Shogun obviously took the buck lightly. Shogun obviously did not work on his conditioning thinking Forrest would go down in seconds…

Forrest is better as a gamer competing at a HALO 3 competition.

Peace Out!

Well look at it like this, if wenderlie were to fight rampage again then he would get knocked out again we don’t want to see that, if he were to fight liddel then liddel would get knocked out again we don’t want to see that, jardine doesn’t have a all around game so he will get dominated, tiago silva well i don’t think he has enough head to head chalengers and hasn’t been in a tough situation yet for him to be able to give a chalenge to rampage cause rampage will hit him a few times knock him around then he will fold.

We all know forrest has been in alot of battles and we know he won’t fold under pressure and we know he can take a hit so with all that said Forrest Griffen will give him a run for his money, which i believe right now he is the only one who has a chance against him in a 5 round fight.
