i have to admit rampage is a damn good fighter with lots of strength. but forest has heart and the confidence to win a fight like this. forest pretty much shocked everybody with his last couple fights. it will definitly be a hell of a fight… but im gonna have to give my vote to forrest

I agree why make a big deal . Shogan Was a named fighter if he was injured he would have droped out no big deal .. The fact is that he said nothing of the injury untill he was beat .

Is it because he’s black that you guys want to see him lose, or is it because he arrogant? What ever the reason is you have to give it to him he has a better defense, greater ground and pound, excellent wrestling skills, and he’s the first to unify the titles. i bet forrest wouldn’t last a year in pride non the less last one minute with lidell or silvia so how in the hell would he last against the champ? imposible, however he will get his six figured contract that he was promised, but it my cost him as rampage would like to say, a ass whoppin. So who does he have to beat to be called the best or should i say how long must he have his title reign because after a while some of you will be saying that your tried of seeing rampage holding the belt. Just remember idon’t care what stats on paper say middle weight, light weight, heavy weight champs in what other class other than light heavy weight has unifed titles? nun, so therefore #1 right now would have to be rampage. I really want to see him and wandalei one more time because he might be the only real comp. for the champ.

I’ll admit to liking both fighters but have to say that Griffin is getting the sport handed to him on a silver platter and hasn’t yet shown he can take full advantage of it. I don’t doubt that he is a solid fighter with some charm outside the ring, but I wouldn’t place him in the category of greats just yet. The guy looses to Jardine, then Jardine beats Lidell, so why not give Jardine the title shot? I don’t doubt that Griffin did a nice job with the win over Rua, but can you name a Pride Fighter that has a decent chance in the UFC, aside from Jackson? It’s been a relative bust for them thus far.
I know it is a time for a changing of the guard, but the UFC seems to be looking to create its own talent through TUF and the like, rather than it actually being a product of the MMA system. Thus far no one from the show has shown they have what it takes to be champion material for any appreciable amount of time.

The problem I have with this is mostly down to the state the division’s in right now. You’ve got loads of new imports and some rising stars in there with hardly anyone being more than two fights removed from a loss – in such a situation it’s hard to make a set-in-stone judgement that anyone’s the #1 contender and Griffin beating an injured Shogun doesn’t really raise him above the mire for me
I’d have preferred they put Rampage on and maybe another coach from a different weight class. This would’ve A) allowed us to focus on the fact that the show’s about finding new talent, not a half-arsed way to hype a title fight and B) allowed the UFC to sort out the division a bit and have a cast-iron #1 contender in place for when it’s over

Yep i think its gonna be an awsome show and a fight worth waiting for but to put the most marquee weight on hold for this long sucks, big time.

Suppose it gives the contenders some time to string a couple of wins together because the division has no clear challengers.

Hopefully Wandi, Ortiz, Jardine or whoever can grab the weight class by the balls.

I dont know if you know or not but he has a severely shattered right hand that he beat the shit out of Hendo with.. and because he took the fight injured and won they are giving him time to heal.. they did the same thing with Franklin when he shattered his hand. so its not just because of TUF.[/quote]

I should have seen the fight by now, but I would never pay for a non-live PPV the next day. I was a Christmas Party, so I had to record the TUF finale and watch it yesterday morning. That was a first, AND LAST! You have no idea how bad I wanted to leave that Christmas party…
