He’s guilty —-> period.
Gee look at shawn now in that photo, skin looks healthier, and man he dont look as pumped as usual…..yea hes a roid user he just should admitt it and get it over with and serve his suspension and get back to doing what he does best…kick a$$!!!thats a shame cause people are going to judge him on roids not as a skilled fighter that he is.
First. He is NOT a skilled fighter. Sherk might be the least skilled fighter around. He IS DEFINANTLY the worst champ ever…..any sport, any day, any title. And what do you mean “doing what he does best…kick a$$?” Tell me who’s ass he kicked, all I see is an idiot who just keeps going for the double-leg take-down, and IF he gets it, laying around. He’s so one-dimensional, that even though he kept getting kneed in the face, almost into unconsciencness, he just kept trying. Why did he do that?
Honestly, I don’t want Shrek as champion. I would rather see bj or joe with the title.
“I think the facts will speak for themselves” - Sherk
Yup, they already did when he failed the drug test. Down with juicers. And lay-n-prayers(haha).
Innocent.

He’s clearly not a finisher, but there aren’t many lightweights that can handle him. The unification fight between BJ penn and Sherk should be a good one. BJ has delt with bigger wrestlers than him (Hughes, GSP) and will be able to deal with Sherks strength, making it a potentially very exciting fight. If he is guilty, than that fight probably wont happen, and that would be a real shame, because BJ has the tools to take him out!
How nice of the Athletic commision to finally get off their asses and give a ruling on this horrible situation. Its been 5 months, and we will finally get a ruling.
At this point does anyone really care?

Because it worked and he won that fight! I am no sherk fan, but dude you are way to harsh!
This interim crap needs to go! If Sherk appeal goes in his favor, he is the champ, not BJ or Joe. If he is found guilty, he is stripped of his title and the BJ or Joe become the new champ. What is with all this interim garbage? Also, I am no Sherk fan either, but last time I check NOBODY in the lightweight division can beat him. So lay off the guy
The way i see sherk is just beating up on guys a lil smaller than he is because he knows he, like most people, can’t get passed the wall of Rush and Hughes. Its hard to find a lightweight that can actually beat him. I would have loved to see big title fights in that division including guys like Joe, BJ, Ken Flo, Roger Huerta, Edgar, tyson griffin. great 5 round fights.
but at the end of the day, To be the champ, you gotta beat the champ. thats pretty much it. Until that happens, Sherks the champ in my book. Plus, who the hell wanted Hermes Franca to be champ, wow that would have been terrible!
I can’t wait to see BJ fight Sherk. BJ is one of the only guys in the lw division that is just as strong if not stronger that Sherk, come on now this guy has fought HWs!
man no one understands the main reason for interm titles, 5 ROUNDS, ok djr76 that’s why, i think it’s a great idea as you said yourself BJ or Joe become the new champ. exactly what the interm champion is.
now lets say he is innocent and is proven to be innocent, then what will the CASC do for sherk for this bad publicity and not to mention the huge layoff that no doubt will have rusted his game, and lost him an entire fight payment?
i totally disagree, the only thing that it changes is giving us a 5 round fight, cause the winner would fight sherk when he gets back regardless. so its not costing sherk or anyone anything, its only giving us more. i just dont see why people get so amped about that, who really wouldnt wanna see a 5 round fight anyway?
this guy wont even walk into a bar ecuase of smoke….
you think he took teroids?
no way
Facts state that someone with this drug in there system would have elevated levels of over 30 or 40 or even 50. he had 12….

Keep your mouth shut if your not educated. Its obvious you just got into UFC and have only seen sherks last fight. If you did’nt you would have seen him out strike nick diaz have a great chance in the pocket against G.S.P. I am not a sherk fan, but you can not ignore his talent. Granted he had a differing game plan for Franka but he posesses great boxing and wich is lacked by many fighters. He has great inside leg kicks and an unstopable ground attack. The fact is that when someone is that dominant even if it is boring it still must be respected. Not to mention his transition game…although it is a quality most light weights share.
Who gives a fuck about Sherk … give us BJ.

How is he not a skilled fighter?!?!Look at his record. His only two losses are to Hughes and St.Pierre.He may be one dimensional but who cares.Liddell,Crocop,Tito, are all basically one dimensional fighters to name a few and they are legends in the sport. They are all well rounded but use one style that they accel at.Sherks ground game is unbelievable.Anyone who knows ground fighting will tell you that.
the reason i stated my earlier message thast way is….cmon man were talking about the lw division…dude theres no one in that division..beside bjpenn but i dont even think he has enough to overtake sherk..but in all fairness penn is pretty good.

The interim title is a glorafied number one contender match. The
athletic commision are the ones that decided that fights are 3 rounds long and that title fights are five rounds, it isnt up to dana white. Dana was quoted recently as saying he would want all fights to be 5 rounds and title fights to be 7 rounds long. So I think giving the fight an “interim title” tag it allows Dana to make it a 5 round fight, but we all know the truth, to be the champ you gotta beat the champ, so dont count Sherk and Serra out just yet because ultimately the road to being #1 in the world still will have to go through them.
All of us argure but this is the truth:
NO ONE!!!!!!!! should be the champ if they only defend their belt twice in a two year span. Look at Chuck Liddell, he had many of title defenses and went on a two year run. I can’t stand Matt Hughes, but look at how many times he defended the belt until he lost it to BJ. That is what you call a true champion. With so much talent in the Lightweight division today, I find it ridiculous that there is such MAJOR holdup.
umm yeah thats pretty much what i said. im not sure if you are arguing with me or just repeating what i said.
umm yeah thats pretty much what i said. im not sure if you are arguing with me or just repeating what i said.
Your statement actually doesn’t even describe what i’m trying to say. Your only talking about wanting to see a 5 round fight. I’m pist because I’ve been waiting forever to see the Lightweight belt be put on the line. The Sherk/Franca fight doesn’t even count. Look at how fast they are to find a replacement for Matt Serra. The BJ/Stevenson fight should have happend at UFC 79.

“the least skilled fighter around”…”the worst champ ever” - what a joke man. have you actually ever watched mma before? have you seen any of sherks fights?
the guy is no lay n pray fighter, he’s not boring, and he’s lost only twice in his career - he’s beaten kenflo, diaz, parisyan, etc let’s call it what it is - the guy is nothing short of dominant in his division. i’m not sure there’s a lw who can come close to matching him. give us all a break - stop hating guys who are tougher than you
Innocent until proven guilty… All he has to do is create a doubt in the back of there head.
Guilty. 12 nanograms = Cheater. IOC set a limit of 2 nanograms. Don’t know what the CSAC and NSAC set.
I’m glad this will be over soon, cause I don’t even like the guy.
I hope he’s innocent and stevenson and penn fight for top spot and then break him down but if he’s guilty I hope they take his title and let him go again.
I’m not a fan of interim title either, one champ!
I’m glad this will be over soon, cause I can’t stand the guy.
I hope he’s innocent and penn and stevenson fight for top spot and then kill him.
I would rather see him lose his title then have it taken away
But if he’s found guilty I hope they take his title and show him the fucking door.

Bj is not even close to as strong as Sherk and we have seen that a stronger fighter can power out of his submissions(GSP and Hughes).

You might not like it but it’s MMA… if fighters can’t defend themselves from Sherk then it’s just tough titty!… Don’t worry I think BJ will take care of him.

I’m not saying he did take steroids… but he’s all about enhancing his physic, strength, endurance and being the best in the sport… smoke does not enhance performance, steriods do.
physique…lol I’m tired

Why do all the Sherk nuthuggers insist on hyping up his win over Karo? Karo was a teen when that happened.

Uh BJ is no where near as strong as Sherk its not even close. If your saying he has the sickest BJJ in all of MMA and can handle bigger guys no problem and would whoop Sherk’s ass if they fight I’d agree with that statement but Sherk is clearly stronger.

GSP and Hughes powered out of his submissions? I believe he Penn manhandled Hughes the first time (by submission where was the power out there) and Hughes was saved by the bell in round 2 and Penn woulda still won had he not broken a rib in the second fight. GSP did not power out of any submission he won that finally mainly do to conditioning. In my opinion GSP and Penn are 1 and 2 (okay maybe 2 and 3 with Anderson Silva 1) in pound for pound fighters in the world.

It is so his fault. How is the champ of a rising division like that only going to fight twice in two years? If it were any other champ, there would have been an interim championship fight months ago. Maybe Barry Bonds gave Sherk advice on how to get away with juicing. Except this time he got caught.
I’m not saying that I don’t think Sherk is a good fighter, but if a fighter cheats it ain’t right. I know many of you will tell me that I’m accusing him before the results from the CSAC come back, but we all know he’s guilty. It’s very unfortunate that this happend, but if u cheat, you should lose your title. Even if Dana White is your friend.

Sorry for the 3 comments in a row BUT… AN INJURY IS NO EXCUSE NOT TO HAVE AN INTERIM TITLE FIGHT. Look at Serra/Hughes fight. When Serra got hurt they allowed GSP to replace Serra after he got hurt. We cant really argue about RAMPAGE bcuz at least he defended his belt a few months after he won it. People like Rampage, Anderson Silva, Matt Hughes, ec are REAL CHAMPIONS.
GO BJ PENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN…
alot people saying he aint a skilled fighter or he aint a good fighter, you tell me honestly that you would not love to see sherk/stevenson or sherk/penn. and now that you have answered yes to that question, why do you think you answered yes — because he is a good fighter !!
He is a good fighter, but he got caught. Its like hey he’s a good father, and hard worker, and he just has a “little” cocaine in his system. Illegal is illegal. Thats life…*shrug*

The suspension most definitley is his fault, unless you want to blame the CSAC for catching a cheater. And steroid abusers like Sherk are more likely to suffer injuries because the increased muscle mass puts an abnormal amount of strain and stress on ligaments and tendons, so you could that the injuries are also his fault as well.
The verdict isn’t in yet if he cheated or not, other fighters have beaten similar charges and had them overturned.
if they just made steriods legal, we wouldn’t have to argue this anymore. if he took it or not, it wouldn’t matter. we could skip the WHOLE testing process. saves time… yah know.
Holy crap!!!Let’s be honest here, boys. Every fighter in the UFC is boring until they do something. Look at Chuck. He is one of the most boring fighters in the world…until he hits you. Sherk is no different. Until he starts the ground and pound one could, conceivably, take a nap. As far as roid’s go, no one likes a cheater. However, until the verdict comes in, he is innocent until proven guilty. Some of you guys are getting way too personal. Wait for the end result and then remember, guilty or not guilty, he could still kick all of our collective “aces.”

WE want to see this fght to see Sherk get owned, by someone who work wonders on the lay and pray. Shrek’s wet towel offense(if you can call it an offense)will not survive this time around. BJ has worked people much larger and more talented then Shrek…

Do you know what long term steriod use does to your body? No, I didn’t think so. Steriods give you a HUGE advantage and it wouldn’t be fair to the guys who don’t want to destroy their bodies.

What kind of bjj training did kimo have? none, he was a tyqwando expert(I think I butchered the spelling)and with today everyone trains in all the 3 major areas, wrestling, kick boxing and bjj. The only thing sherk has on penn is conditioning and strength and is probably the better wrestler but I feel penn has the better take down defense. To be honest I feel strength was the deciding factor in hughes and gsp’s victories over penn. Penn wouldn’t have broken the rib if hughes wasn’t so powerful and gsp wouldn’t have gotten the take downs if he couldn’t over power penn. Penn is probably the better fighter over gsp and hughes pound for pound but his conditioning and strength was his down fall. Penn is a far more talented fighter than sherk but if it goes the distance with sherks superior conditioning I think he would probably pull off a close decision.
Like everyone else… bored of this story. Hurry up and get the title round BJ’s waist.
F*ck Sherk, cheater cheater steroid eater.

He Submitted Hughes? will venture to say BJ is close to SHREK’s strength. Considering BJ was actually able to hang at 170# and SHREK got owned in that class says books full. Sherk will loose. Plus he is going to after be careful about his cycle now, since he tested positive.

Penn is 28 has amazing stand up,some of the best bjj, probably some of the nastiest take down defense and balance, and one maor thing he is, is a finsher. Sean SHREK is a 34 year old lay and pray one dimensinal wrestler, who has not fnished an opponent since feb. 23, 2001 and it was a nobody.
