Silva was probably one of the most underrated fighters in the UFC before the fight with Houston. If you watched the UFC 78 PPV, you would of seen the crowd, everyone was chanting “HOUSTON, HOUSTON” Everyone counted Thiago out except for Chute Boxe and Thiago Silva. Thiago exposed Houston’s lack of ground game, Houston was not the beast everyone thought he was in that fight, he got his ass kicked, no question

He’s a bum - 35 years old that had hype from two fights. Silva would dominate him 9 out of 10 times. On another note, look out for this Silva kid - has he even lost yet? He’ll be able to control must of his upcoming challenges. Chute Box Camp training.

Houstong got mounted in a scramble. What other fighter would have gotten a sweep on that guy?

Thiago is undefeated so losing to him could happen to anyone.

I actually thought Thiago was the tentative one, worried about getting smashed and waiting for a scramble which he got that “fell” in to a mount where his strength was capitalized and Houstons weakness taken advantage of.

Another fight would be drastically different. A possible KO by Houston or a Sub/GnP by Thiago…..that is why we would watch it again.

Don’t disocunt either guy. Houston is gonna get two more KO’s in the next 6 months and then we’ll see him move to the top level again.

Thiago is gonna get a big fight either next appearance or right after and he’s probably gonna get close to the top (belt fight after that)

yeah..like that’ll happen..i’m a huge fan of chuck but there’s no escaping father time..it’s either he’ll make one last run at the belt if he wins at 79 or it’s the end of an illustrious career…

i a gree with allot of your comments on here im really close friends with houston and hes gunna be back strong and like one guy said on hear it was better for houston, houstons been training on his ground game but know hes taking some time off to go get married but theres a plus side to this whole thing and its that hes training in san diego qith great bjj champions so just letting you all know thanks for supporting Houston.Hes going to be fighting in febuary but no aponent yet.ill keep you all posted Thanks

I think he made a rookie mistake. he didnt keep the fight on his terms, instead he stalked silva, then when he could have started pounding him he clinched. Plus no experienced fighter would have tried to submit a bjj black belt with that hold. I think Houston will be back stronger than ever after re-evaluating his strategy in the cage. I think he should stick with what he knows, and start learning what he doesnt know.
