Karo is unique to the UFC, nobody can do some of the things he can do. Bad attitude or not, youve got to give it to him that at 24 hes one of the most talented fighters in the welterweight Div, and hes only going to get better and more experienced especially that hes training with Randy now!
Gsp has fought so many big names, he hasn’t fought a can in years, thats all karo fights other than his losses to gsp,diego and sherk. He can’t seem to finish anyone either, I really want to see him fighting guys like fitch and koscheck or even diego again. If he wants the title shot so bad he needs to beat guys like fitch or kos and he’ll get it but I doubt he can.

I will put it this way after winning 2 rounds its his job to come and take the 3rd round and put Karo away.

The match up against Sanchez was like two top fighters going at it, Karo couldn’t beat Sanchez and he still won’t beat sanchez, Fitch on the otherhand dominated Sanchez. Fitch needs some more BJJ skills and he’ld be as well rounded as GSP.

I am no fan of Hughes but Matt’s fights have only gone to a decision 3 times in the last 6 YEARS. Karo has a long way to go before he can be mentioned with Hughes and GSP
IF Karo would have been able to Judo throw his a last opponent a few times….. Karo used to be a wild haymaker swinger type guy. It seems like he has refined that part of his game a bit. He never got tagged vs Burkman and just played with him, doing that for 15 minutes is dangerous but proves a point.
Karos fight vs Diego was not as lopsided as everyone would like you to believe. If the two were to go at it again I am 100% sure Karo would get the win.

Fitch would win over Karo… it would be a tough fight for both guys, but you can tell Fitch just loves to fight… there is no give in his game. Karo is tough as hell, no doubt, but he seems like he fights for the glam aspect of it a bit… not suggesting anything other then i believe Fitch would GUT it out over Karo. But Karo wouldn’t have any fun with Fitch, the guy is a beast.
He’s got a point. Dana doesn’t mind talking trash about AA’s boring last fight, and how that’s the reason he hasn’t fought in a year(not so). But he fails to refer to the Hughes/Lytle fight which should have been stood up numerous times.

The reason why Jorge Gurgel would be on this card is because he is from Cincinnati along with Rich Franklin and people that live in Ohio cheer for Jorge as much as they do Rich. If Jorge was on the card people will pay to see it just like how we paid to see the terrible UFC 77.
Jorge will sell seats if announced, Ohio backs up Jorge Gurgel and Rich Franklin.

Broken hands are part of the game. I used to box and with all that tape of you make it through the round you break it in and the minute in the corner, it is pretty well numb and usable. It is when the tape comes off and the blood starts to flow that it hurts. Hell Sylvia was pissed they called the fight when he broke his arm. Many fighters keep trying to go with broken arms, he did not do anything special buy fighting with a broken hand. I will agree he fought a top notch apponent in Chonan and put on a better performance then , hughes/lytle but everyone I know thought Hughes was crap that night too.

Do you mean his BJJ defense? because Karo is a Judo Master. He has had only one submission since getting to the UFC against Dave Straasler, Kimura. He has a really good armbar as well, but I would not say he has excellent BJJ. EXcellent BJJ defense maybe, he prefers to work from top control,BJJ works off of its back normaly speaking. He is an excellent fighter and Chonan was no slouch, just could not get anything going. Karo pace can overwhelm alot of fighters.
I do agree that it was BS when he tried to Boy NAte in the TUF series.

See this is a good example of what the UFC is doing wrong. Marketing fighters that just dont deserve the attention. Gurgel is a tough guy, but it’s crystal clear he doesn’t belong in the UFC.

What is wrong exactly with Jorge Gurgel? He always has exciting fights.
The reason why Jorge Gurgel would be on this card is because he is from Cincinnati along with Rich Franklin and people that live in Ohio cheer for Jorge as much as they do Rich. If Jorge was on the card people will pay to see it just like how we paid to see the terrible UFC 77.
Jorge will sell seats if announced, Ohio backs up Jorge Gurgel and Rich Franklin.

Thats like saying Ross Pointon is ready to take Anderson Silva. Gurgel has had way to many chances, and come up short often. Ohio or no Ohio, the UFC is a showcase for the best MMA artist on the planet, Gurgel has proven that he is not that calibre. Not slamming him, he’s just not UFC material.
And he’s only exciting if you like seeing a little man take a beating. (not to mention is baby tantrum on TUF 2)

ye dana white being an ass probably is to blame for that crap. ive been saying the same melvin guillard should fight manvel at the next even instead of em both fighting cans. i think joe silva is bringin in too many cans why not let the good fighters fight each other let gatekeepers and stepping stones stand in the way of talent make the talent fight talent before they get a fight with a big name. i mean jon fitch has been fighting bumbs until his diego fight. arlovski hasnt fought since ufc 70! thats rediculous he needs to fight asap. arlovski should fight cheick kongo soon.
