[...] WEC pay is out, and it’s not too bad December 21, 2007 at 11:34 am by fightlinker I really wish the NJAC had released the pays from UFC78 because then I’d be able to put them side by side with the pay from last week’s WEC show and see which one cost Zuffa more. The WEC’s top dogs were paid well enough, with Jens Pulver getting the same amount of money he made fighting BJ Penn in the UFC, and Paulo Filho making 6k more than he did last time (strange raise huh?).
H Alexander is a great, if he fights a guy who is purely standup. He will always have a punchers chance. But that's it. Chalk him up with B Vera to overated fighters I finally dont have to hear about.
It's funny how a nobody can talk so much shit about a somebody. Houston got caught big deal, hes still knocked out two of the top UFC strikers. All the guys got to do is train more BJJ and he'll be the champ soon enough. Plus the guys done more for the sport than a critic like yourself could, He knocks people the f*ck out, thats what people pay to see, they dont pay to see two guys rolling around on the ground, houston gives people what they pay 40$ to see, you sir dont do a thing, probably dont even train a martial art and even if ya did your not in the UFC so you still would have anything on houston because he's here to stay.
The sad thing is Houston is 36 not 26. Could you imagine if he was 26. He would have so much time to develop and realise his potential. It takes a long time to become as well rounded as the elite guys. Still he's an animal who could KO anyone in the blink of an eye.
Well, if Houston is a SMART fighter... he could've started nothing but bjj and wrestling on MONDAY and in 1 yrs time, be 37 with a good line of defense and some adequate offense.

There have been many fighters that degressed or left MMA because they didn't work on their weakest areas, hope Houston isnt one of them.
Houston didn't look to be the same fighter as his last two fights... I want to know if his ground game is really that bad or is there an excuse?
EXCUSE? Thats absurd. What kind of excuse can he have for not having a ground game?

Houston: "My 5th youngest child had a fever during the middle of the week, so I wasn't able to have a ground game in my fight today"

Seriously, can you think of one legit excuse he can have for not having a ground game?
Violentmike: I am very happy that I didnt spend money to go.
Me too John, me too. A few days before the event I was looking on ebay to see what kind of seats were up there, and what they were going for. There was a bunch of floor seats. There were a couple of pairs of seats on the floor, 11th row. The face value was $503 each. And the buy it now price was $500 for the two tickets. That's less than half price! I was actually thinking about going since the UFC won't be back for like 3 more years, but I still didn't think the card was worth $500.
Houston is going to be on the radio here this afternoon so as soon as I can get a download, I'll forward it on.

Houston didn't look to be the same fighter as his last two fights, even as he was walking out the octagon. I want to know if his ground game is really that bad or is there an excuse?
Regardless, Silvas GnP was brutal.
DUDE! We all knew he had no ground game. I just love how you are literally asking for him to give an excuse, but when a guy like GSP or Ortiz says he was fighting hurt, they are poor sports.

First time I've ever seen an arm bar from someones back.

That was impressive.

I thought Gono was going to take remove it and take it home with him
