Former contestant on season five of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) and 155-pound beanstalk, Corey Hill, will make his UFC debut Wednesday, January 23 at 9 p.m. ET on SpikeTV.
No opponent has been named at this time. In addition, no venue has been announced for the show.
Not Earth-shattering news; however, we get a lot of messages about what happened to him and what’s up next since he did not compete during the TUF 5 Finale. Remember: He did sustain an injury after the competition that kept him out of action perhaps longer than expected.
Our conversation was short because I bumped into him right before the weigh-ins for UFC 78: “Validation” were about to start. He was real cool and we’ll more than likely catch up with him before his fight in two months.
(It was actually his first UFC event — pretty odd to hear.)
Anyway, if you have any questions or want us to find anything out feel free to leave some suggestions in the comments section below and we’ll consider them.
More details to follow soon.

finally..some good news to start the week off..
I’m interested in seeing how far he’s come along.
yes. buddy roe! i was wondering what the hell happened to your crazy ass.
yeah this is good news, i was wondering when we were gonna hear from him again…can’t wait to find out who he’s fighting, and to see if his training with hughes and them guys has paid off…i hope he comes out and destroys whoever he fights, i want to see him get good…thats something you can ask him about, ask him about training with matt hughes and how thats helped him progress as a fighter, and what areas he’s been specifically training in to improve in…he could probably be a sick submission guy from his back if he learned some jiu jitsu, but i doubt he’s learning much of that from hughes camp…
I’d just like to know where he has been training.

Milltech Fighting Systems.
He went to Matt Hughes H.I.T. squad but left.
Corey Hill should fight Danny Abadi just so we can see Corey Hill demolish somebody.
Maybe he has changed, maybe he is a better ground fighter, but I mean he is fighting with Team Millitech, so I doubt that.
Put him in with Joe lauzon.. because Lauzon didnt even work a sweat in the 78 card.. and joe faught a oompa last time . put him againts tall this time..

Actually, Danny Abadi had decent stand up skills, actually, he’s an expert compared to Corey. I, too, always make fun of Danny Abadi, but I would like to think that he’d be able to outstrike the tall, goofy, UNREFINED, Corey Hill. Although, the high disadvantage would be difficult to overcome.
As far as questions for Corey Hill, I have one:
“On this current season of TUF, we see the Matt Hughes prefers to punish his fighters as opposed to teach them. Instead of telling a fighter what he did wrong in a fight, he’d rather beat them up in practice the next day. Is this the same way that Matt treats his fighters at the HIT Squad, or is that just a side of Matt that came out while wanting to defeat Serra in the competition?”

I don’t think Corey could get out of round 1 against Joe. He’d get overwhelmed and submitted. Corey needs to fight a can like Brian Geraghty.
Who is Corey Hill? Why are we even discussing this guy? He lost on TUF. He has one professional fight from a year ago. Why are we discussing potential fights for this guy? Let’s see where he is in two years. Then, if he’s worthy, we can start discussing Corey Hill. There are so many other fighters who haven’t gone on a reality show that are way more deserving of space on MMAmania then Corey Hill.
Danny Abadi is a force to be reconed with. We would destroy Cory Hill.
But, if I remember correctly Corey Hill is a Lightweight and Abadi is a Middleweight, so a fight between them wouldn’t happen.

Danny Abadi of course is decent, I mean UFC just does not throw people in there that are terrible and do not know what they are doing.. okay maybe they do (see Blake Bowman) but Abadi is decent on the ground, and Jorge Gurgel could not finish him.. ergh when has Jorge Gurgel finsiehd a fight.
None the less, give somebody a chance like Abadi to fight a name like Corey Hill. Well the UFC will probably “protect” Corey Hill and might throw, I dunno Jason Thacker (if he dropped weight), Wayne Weems, The Monstah Lobstah, Marlon Sims (I asked Dana if he would set me up with him in the octagon for a fun fight), Noah Thomas (lol) or someone like that.
(Yes I do know, Sims/Thomas never will step foot into the octagon.. ever)
Corey who? Didn’t this guy almost lose to Emerson?

Yeah…OK. Danny could really strike. “I’m an Ultimate Fighter now!!! Yaaaayyyyyyy!!!!!

then he should be fighting in WEC first not ufc.. just my opinion
Danny Abbadi is a fucking bum.
I am hearing rumors that UFC 83: In Las Vegas’s main event will be:
Blake bowman vs. the Lobstah aka crustation sensation.
Tickest go on sale next week.
Questions to Ask C. Hill
1. How much time is he devoting to learning juijitsu? who’s teaching him, and what’s his current belt level?
2. How’s his weight management going and does he see himself bumping up to 170 lbs in the future? How much does he weigh like a day or 2 after weigh ins at 155 lbs?
3. Would Manny have beaten Nate in TUF Finale if he didn’t get hurt? Who does he think is the better fighter between them?
4. What’s his fat % on his body?
5. Hows his wife n’ kids.. everything good?
corey is alright and has been alright i trained with him a couple of times and even recieved a couple of nice chokes from him,he’s a strong tricky little fella. i think we should expect corey to seriously contend for the belt. don’t be surprised to see it around his waist.
WOOOO HOOOO I’ve been wondering what the hell this guy was up to… Can’t wait to see the beanstalk in action!!
Gwan Corey
After watching him fight on TUF, I can’t understand why this is newsworthy. I know everyone grows and gets better, but his style was either unorthodox as hell or undisciplined .
Actually cory was my second favorite guy (manny 1st) He is a definite oddity for the division. I think by what I saw he was an actual good guy (Aside from the barking) LOL.
I think if I were to give him a fight it would not be Joe L. but someone alittle lower on the ladder like the guy Joe just destroyed.
Joe L. should fight Diego Sanchez… That would be a good one.
Danny Abbadi is a fucking bum.
Correct, that’s the whole point. And yet he is still MUCH better than Corey Hill. If Danny Abadi was 6′8″ and weighed 145lbs, he’d be WAAAAY better than Corey Hill (and yes, I exaggerated the height and weight of Corey, but so what).
i think we should expect corey to seriously contend for the belt. don’t be surprised to see it around his waist.
I don’t ever see that happening. He would have to go on like a 12 fight win streak to even be considered to fight in a #1 contender fight - remember, he still has not had a pro fight yet. Can you imaging Corey Hill fighting Sean Sherk? It would be ridiculous. Corey would be laying helplessly on his back for the duration of the fight. Same thing against any good wrestler. I think Corey Hill was a nobody, still is a nobody, and has about a 35% chance at being successful in the UFC, but I do not think that he will ever hold the belt.

Corey would have a two and a half foot height advantage on Rhinehardt.
Corey will be fighting Joe Veres at UFN 12 Jan. 23. Joe Veres was recently knocked out by Gray Maynard nine seconds into the first round.
cant wait to se cory get back in there and tie somebody up.

From an experience perspective, he probably belongs in a regional promotion. However, because of TUF, he will get a couple of fights in the UFC. If they are finding opponents they think he matches up well with, he could be around a while because he definitely has name recognition and a personality.
cory hil was a state wrestling champion in high school from miami. The guy was a compleye beast, a real powerful guy. Dr.Bigg
sorry about my spelling I did not check it first. I never wrestled him but he was legendary. His power was hard to handle from what I have been told.
