Please tell me I’m not the only one who thinks these Tapout guys are complete tools.
Seconded.
This is the first I’ve seen of them and Jardine should be embarrassed to be associated with them. MMA is a sport with professional athletes performing it. We don’t need clowns just yet.
COOL! These guys have no boundaries and i hear they get up to rockstar-like hijinx on the road! You just never know what they’re gonna do! They are so INYAFACE! Jardine only gets a little window for his picture because the TAPOUT CREW would beat the shit out of anyone who demands top billing over them. THEY ARE JUST THE BEST. —-God they make me sick. Check out this bullshit.-
TAPOUT IS SHAKING THINGS UP IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD!
This counterculture crew sponsors the best MMA Fighters, boasts a sought-after clothing line and a raucous new TV reality show, all the while creating hype and mystique.
(Los Angeles, CA) — They don’t care what you think — the TapouT Crew is here to stay, and they’re breaking all the rules. What began as a hobby has turned into a full-on underground culture and apparel monopoly. The guys behind this modern-day marvel are American, Arrogant, and “Inyaface.” These are the words they want you to know.
TapouT’s got Flash, Attitude, and Strength, and so do the forces behind it. The three guys who make up this Crew are not simply comic book figures or alter egos, but cultural revolutionaries. Don’t expect to catch Mask without his make-up — he’s The General. Punk Ass is all business, all of the time. Skyskrape is all about silliness. Together they are the TapouT Crew.
TapouT is the brainchild of the Crew’s leader: Mask. This decade-old-yet-fresh company operates independently without concern for competition, because they’ve been at the forefront of MMA since the very beginning, and boast support from several superstars of Mixed Martial Arts.
TapouT is present at the most extreme events, supporting their fighters and offering everything from their line that reflects the Crew’s iconic status- the hottest, edgiest apparel for guys and girls, an exclusive magazine covering all that is MMA, a reality TV series on the Versus Channel gearing up for a second season, and even their own flask-shaped bottled water. Their distinctive logo graces everything from hats, tees and car windows to their special limited edition 2007 Toyota Tundra TapouT truck. The TapouT logo has become so noteworthy that its most devoted fans are tattooing it on their bodies, demonstrating the ultimate in commitment.
“The TapouT phenomenon can’t be explained easily. TapouT is here to help bring the sport to its rightful place of world domination, and our products are just an extension of that,” says Mask.
And the limits are endless for the TapouT Crew. Their ventures are taking TapouT’s image, fighters, and apparel to the next level of eminence.
BTW: How many people see someone who looks EXACTLY like the midget on the left of the picture EVERY DAY? What a played out look. In my opinion he actually looks like the biggest douche of the group. I like how he ALWAYS has his fists balled up like he’s ready to fight, looking like that he probably gets alot of people wanting to beat his ass. LOOK AT ME! I got a black hat with a flat brim!..Look at tattoo’s!…Look at my shades! IM SO HARDCORE!….I’m done now, i just threw up in my mouth looking at this shit.
i tried to watch the tapout show a couple of times. But never could complete an entire show. I dont understand the marketing strategy behind these 3 clowns. & from what it sounds like on this forem, nor does anybody else. Likely they will not be around for long.
I’d like to see one of those guys fight, more people making money off fighters backs.
Alright, I’ll be the sucker to (semi) defend these guys. Tapout was one of the first companies to start sponsoring fighters at a time when fighters needed money the most. This financial support spurred the concept of a “full-time fighter” who didn’t have to hold down a day job while squeezing in their training at night. They also appear to be pretty loyal, continuing to sponsor long-time fighters who suffer high-profile losses and picking up a lot of unknowns. I think it says something about them that they sponsored Sean Salmon AFTER he got his head kicked in and will be shown on the ass-end of highlight reel footage until the end of time. So, while they do “mak[e] money off fighters backs,” the fighters also make money from them to keep their careers going.
That being said, I really wish the “characters” would simply disappear. I spent the first UFC I watched with my father cringing that they wouldn’t show these clowns on camera. They make everyone associated with MMA look bad. Company good. Characters bad.

Have any of you watched their show on the Versus Channell?? Once you get past the stupid Tapout guys at first, it is an EXCELLENT show. You get way more insight into the fighter’s training than you do on TUF. A normal episode starts out with them traveling to one of the top MMA schools in the USA looking for a good, promotable, up and coming fighter in a particular weight class. Then they bring that fighter cross counry in thier rock-star tour bus and have a blast on the way to the venue. Then the episode ends with thier newly signed fighter having his first sponsored fight. I actually really enjoy the show. Its been repeats for a while now. There were only about 8 episodes or so. When it first came out, I did NOT watch it because of how stupid these guys always looked in the crowd at the UFC PPV’s. But after about 3 episodes, not only do I no longer mind them, but they are sometimes funny.

The one you are refering to’s name is “Punk Ass”. And out of the 3 guys, he is the only one that trains MMA. He also corners fighters on occasion as well. I don’t know if he has ever had a pro fight back in the day or not, and I can’t look it up because I don’t know his real name – only know him as Punk Ass.
“The people passing out swag at the fights should not get top billing tho.”
Agreed. The poster looks preposterous. “Hey Fight Fans: Come meet a bunch of retarded comic book characters! Oh, and a guy who actually fights people.”
the tapout guys annoy the shit out of me, well punkass seems ok, but the other 2 are giant toolbags, as for the fighting on the show, it is ok. if they cut out the mask and the afro wig dude acting like morons it might be better
It seems like whenever someone mentions the “TapouT Crew” on an MMA site or messageboard, the vast majority of people say they can’t stand them. So when are these clowns going to get the hint?
I dunno whats with all of the hostility. I think everyone is jealous that these guys got rich doing what they love. I’d be proud if I ran a successful clothing company and got to be at MMA shows every other day.
Charles Lewis, Dan Caldwell and Tim Katz are also known as Mask, Punkass and SkySkrape. I’ve hung with ‘em on more than one occasion. They’re cool dudes.
To those that want to fight them, good luck. Throw out one of those open challenges like the guy that got his ass whooped by Joe Rogan. They’ve all trained and know what they’re doing.
I dunno whats with all of the hostility. I think everyone is jealous that these guys got rich doing what they love. I’d be proud if I ran a successful clothing company and got to be at MMA shows every other day.
I don’t think people are jealous that these guys have done well for themselves and I know at least some recognize the good they’ve done for fighters. The problem is strictly one of appearance. I don’t think I’m talking out of turn when I say that some MMA fans are terrified of the sport being lumped in with pro wrestling. When these guys show up with face paint and flamboyant outfits, they bring that pro wrestling fake-fighting, circus atmosphere with them. Some MMA fans are very image conscious. People want the sport to be taken seriously as a real athletic competition that is neither too brutal nor too clownish. These guys get a lot of exposure and can put-off those who are just getting into the sport. I think if they normalized their image a bit, people would ease up.
Look at Jason “Mayhem” Miller. He’s had choreographed dances, pyrotechnics, etc and he’s gotta be on the top ten guys that people like to watch.
What about Nick Thompson, the guy is insane, he came walkin’ to the ring with a cigarette in his mouth.
Or Genki Sudo. That guys is damn near a ninja full of masks and colorfull outfits.
Or what about Lee Murray comin’ out in a straight jacket type thing with a face mask on.
Or what about Akihiro Gono. The guy came to the ring in pink tights dressed up like one of the Village People.
These people scream for attention and it’ll always be apart of the UFC. I could never even THINK of classifying MMA and Pro-Wrestling in the same category. I can’t even stand to watch Wrestling.
Please tell me I’m not the only one who thinks these Tapout guys are complete tools.
You are not, I agree completely. tool is the perfect word. It is wierd how one of the biggest mma outfitters can be owned and operated by the biggest losers in the world.
Look at Jason “Mayhem” Miller. He’s had choreographed dances, pyrotechnics, etc and he’s gotta be on the top ten guys that people like to watch.
i bought a tapout shirt over a year ago and would wear it once in a while.. then this Tapout show came on and i was almost embareassed to wear it after seeing the show.. these guys are clowns… even tho they look like some WWE tag team .. i still think what they do for the fighters is cool.. but they just have a horible image for themselfs and for thier company.
After you get past all that exterior flash bullshit, these guys seem ok, they’re like hardcore MMA fans.. Charles Lewis(Mask 2-3 mma or something like mma) and Dan Caldwell(Punkass, jujitsu purple belt 0-0) have done some MMA training and I don’t know what Skyscrape has done or even his name.
I don’t mind the attitude but I wish they would tone down that makeup n’ costumes… it makes them look like pimps for their fighters… I’ve never been a fan of WWF even though I admire their stuntman like abilities, I like the REAL DEAL, not pretenders in MMA.
Phyteguru makes a pretty good counter-point about some fighters (both popular and not) making entrances that are flamboyant, gimmicky, and/or cringe-inducing. They’re still a rarity – none of the aforementioned are UFC mainstays. Yet, for some inexplicable reason, I’m cool with the entrances but not with Tapout’s theatrics. Don’t know why. Maybe it’s because Miller, Thompson, Sudo, et al. never leave the ring looking as flashy as when they went in (plus, I bet Lee Murray is trying to keep a lower profile these days).
Man, Id like to punch those guys in the face. I’d always see ads for tapout clothing and then I finally saw the tapout guys and I was angry. What f-ing tools.
You gotta feel a little sorry for them. If I was in the same room with a badass like Jardine I would not want to be dressed like a clown.

LOL, I’m on vacat
Wow 4 douche bags for the price of one! I hope they come to mall near me, K!(international symbol for ‘kink’ for those of you who don’t know).
I think anyone who has to try this hard to seem edgy or cool is worthless. Sounds like these guys are in love with the spotlight and just because they make a CLOTHING LINE doesn’t make them celebrities. I’m sure SOME PEOPLE think that hanging out or meeting these guys is a real big deal in their lives. As if they are famous and anyone outside of the myopic world of MMA knows who they are. I wonder if SOME PEOPLE think they are by association “cool” themselves by hanging out with these clowns. I’ve heard of A list, and B list celebrity….But i’m just wondering what letter to assign to this crap. P? Q? All i know is it’s a sad world where fools like this can design a logo,(albeit a cool one) and be treated like stars.
Wtf? Is that a cowboy Adam Ant? I was checking out the tat on the dude’s leg, and then noticed it looks like he is in his undies. Wtf? Are those scarfs or ties tied to his vest?
The posturring guy gets prop for not going along with the other two tools.
The poster should have Jardine center, and those guys in the window in my opinion.
Good for the fighters, bad for the image of the sport. What will these wannabe superheroes do in 15-20 years? Still run around wearing costumes and make-up? Maybe they will get young male sidekicks and prance around the country, flitting from gym to gym. They are ridiculous.
I notice some of you makin some real rude comments. I know the “Mask” very well. He is my cousin. He definitely is not gay and the girls have been chasin him since he was a young boy. Another thing I know about him. He never came home from school with a black eye or a beat down. He also use to be a sheriff. I think it was very creative of him after the loss of his father not long after his mother passed. Hey cousin I know they are proud of you and so are the Lewis family. Congratulation cousin. I call myself Moonlite now. I no longer go by Cindy. Even if it was not my cousin I would be happy for him or anyone else who creates with new idea’s…something different thinking outside the box……
Blessing!
ARE THEY GAY? WITH ALL THAT MAKEUP AND COSTUMES, LIKE SOMEONE ELSE SAID ON THIS BOARD, THEY ARE THE NEW VILLAGE PEOPLE. I THINK THEY ARE HAVING GANG BANGS AND I THINK THAT MSK IS THE BOTTOM GUY! LMAO!
Tapout cleared 25 million in 2007 and are projected to do well over 100 million in 2008. Not bad for a bunch of “insert ignorant insult here” who started selling t-shirts out of a borrowed truck at local and underground shows! But you knew that….didn’t you.
The Tapout crew are a group of hangers on to the MMA scene. They look and act like a bunch of clowns. What the do is simply get attention and camera time, because they know that any pub is good pub, even if they look like fools.
As for their clothing line, only posers would wear anything that screams:look at me, I’m in MMA, what a badass I am. The only time real fighters might wear that crap is if they’re getting paid for it.
If you see anyone on the street wearing it, you should go up to them and call them a pussy. Chances are you won’t have to worry about much, cuz they’ll probably piss their pants and run away if you start to throw down.
“TAPOUT: The clothing line for complete Posers” should be the company motto!
Oh Greg I bet you wont walk up to me and call me a pussy cause I would punch you straight in your jaw. Yeah a lot of posers do wear TapouT but I wear it because I support my sport and I agree with all the good things TapouT has done for the sport such as shining the spotlight on up and coming fighters. Just because some are posers there are still alot of us that wear TapouT and are the real deal so before you bite of more than you can chew just remember you can never judge a book by its cover.

BTW I love how the “Crew” gets most of the poster and the actual fighter gets a little window. Damn.
The Tapout Crew…? These guys are downright lame. Tapout my enthousiasm
I’d like to see one of those guys fight, more people making money off fighters backs.

LOL, I’m on vacat
Wow 4 douche bags for the price of one! I hope they come to mall near me, K!(international symbol for ‘kink’ for those of you who don’t know).
Wow, please explain how Keith is a douchebag.
HATERS OF THE WORLD UNITE!
Please tell me I’m not the only one who thinks these Tapout guys are complete tools.
Tools is an understatement!
Meet the man who Houston Alexander almost killed!
RIP Mask….
