The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 runner-up Manny Gamburyan (5-2) returns to the Octagon on December 29 to face Team Curran fighter Nate Mohr (8-4) at UFC 79: “Nemesis” in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Gamburyan will be fighting just eight days after his medical suspension ends on December 21, which was a result of a dislocated shoulder he suffered during his match against Nate Diaz at the TUF 5 Finale.
Mohr is also coming off an injury (broken hand) that he suffered in his unanimous decision victory over Luke Caudillo at UFC Fight Night 10 back in June.
The welterweight title fight between TUF 6 coaches Matt Serra and Matt Hughes headlines UFC 79, but the real attraction may be in the undercard where the long-anticipated match between light heavyweight legends Chuck Liddell and Wanderlei Silva finally takes place.
Add to that Roan Carneiro, Dean Lister and the return of Melvin Guillard and you’re looking at a rock solid pay-per-view from top to bottom.

Manny fights just like sherk Lay and Pray!!
Not a big fan of the B-side TUF guys.
why is there a picture of Kurt Pelligrino?

Good Point.
Of course this card is stacked, its in Las Vegas where the only thing that matters to the fighters is the after party at the ghost bar. Thanks for putting on a great UFC 78 card Dana. Neark, New Jersey woo hoo hopefully I come back home without a bullet wound !
After party in the projects down the block yessss

B-side TUF guys? Manny is a beast only guy that can take on sherk in terms on muscle..He’s hungry man. And thanks Mania for no acknowledgements.
This fight does not excite me. Manny needs to work on his stand up
this is one of the best cards yet! all looking like heavy fights, even the grudge match guillard v clementi should be sweet!
Its Kurt because they dunno the difference?
I do not care to see more of Nate Mohr. Manny should run right thru him.

Mania, is it a FACT that Hughes/Serra is going to be the Main Main Event, as in the last live fight? Because I would really think that Liddell/Silva should be the final fight of the year. It should be a co-Main Event with Hughes/Serra taking place immediately before Liddell/Silva.

I was gonna say the same thing.
I like Manny. I was hoping for him to win TUF. We was beating up on Nate. It’s a shame he got injured.

I’m glad I’m not the only who’s bored to tears watching this spare part in the ring.
I have made an executive decision to change Gamburyan’s nickname from Pitbull, which he has done absolutely nothing to deserve, to British Prostitute, because all he does is get on top of people and move around just enough to avoid getting stood up but not enough to finish things off.
Manny is a bulldog… and was under estimated in TUF5 to everyones perill… i think he is a cool bloke and wish him well personally… Good luck Manny!
On TUF5… Where is Corey Hill now?

A championship bout will never play second fiddle to a non-title match no matter who it is.
Well I’m looking forward to the fight as long as Manny doesn’t pop a shoulder again, a predisposition to dislocation seems like a weakness that anyone with a lil BJJ could exploit.
good finally annouced a fight now annouce the rest dec is coming quick

Yeah, just like this fight…Nate on the bottom.
I like nate mohr. His boxing backround is sick. Reminds me of a young spida. If he could get his ground game going he could be crazy in his later years.
i’m glad manny is over the shoulder thing, hopefully its not a recurring injury, this is a tough fight though, mohr ain’t no puss, but i see manny doing his usual thing and gaining top position on the ground and being too much for nate…manny by unanimous decision
Who cares about this fight?
Manny fights just like sherk Lay and Pray!!
HA we think EXACTLY alike!!1 I was going to say the same thing before i read the comments !! F*CK MANNY he sucks… Karo is the only reason hes a fighter. I hope his shoulder falls off this time.,..
He was seriously underestimated on TUF and he performed well. However, he came off like a complete tool in my opinion. He came unglued over that comment Emerson wrote and wanted to go Marlon vs Noah backyard style on Team Penn. I would have liked to see him fight Gray instead of Lauzon in the semi-final.

Manny’s Momma

it’s gonna be like UFC 73, where Tito and Rashad were the faces of the card, but Silva had to face Marquart for the main event.
I will take Nate Mohr in a Round 2 Doctor Stoppage due to Injury.
Manny Gamburyan the best TUF 5 fighter.

Jesse, I’m holding this one up against you come Dec. 29th if Liddell/Silva is the main event/final live fight.

Mania, is it a FACT that Hughes/Serra is going to be the Main Main Event, as in the last live fight? That’s one of the recent cards I was thinking of. But, and especially at that time, Rashad was no where near Super Star level. It can be argued that Chuck Liddell and Wanderlei Silva are quite possibly the two most recognizable, and most known MMA fighters ever.
I too, believe that Liddell/Silva won’t be last, but it sure as hell should be. I would like to see Dana White make an executive decision on this one. Sure Serra/Hughes is an anticipated matchup, its been for about a year now. HOWEVER, Liddell/Silva has been the dream fight of MMA fans for over 5 years!
I wasn’t a big fan of Manny on the show. His fighting style was boring. Aside from his fight with Noah he just took people down and heald them there. He barely threw punches. Props to the guy he has a rock solid shot and whenever he got stood up he took his opponent right down again. My only problem with him was he didn’t stay busy.
I would have liked to see him fight Gray instead of Lauzon in the semi-final.
Gray would definatly be a better match up against Manny. He was the best wrestler on the show and definatly stoped some of Manny’s takedowns. Dana wanted Joe and Nate in the finals and figured that Joe could stop Manny. It didn’t work out that way and we didn’t get to see the match we all wanted in the finale.

Ladies and gentlemen: Manny “British Prostitute” Gamburyan.
manny = worthless midget

its already recurring
Manny is an exciting fighter, dude throws heavy with bad intentions I love that style.
either way I just hope its a scap !!

Just as an add on. I lost all respect for Karo when he bounced onto the show with a shitty attitude toward the fighters. Every fight no matter who it is I root for Karo’s opponents.

No, because that would involve having to watch yet another world class display of British Prostitute blanketing someone.
He fought Sherk and lost a decesion.

Agreed.. Boring fighter with a bad shoulder.
Glad to see Manny back, he reminds me of a little Fedor. (No need to express that you disagree gentleman, I already know) I liked how when Karo and Nate were being dicks, Manny seemed confused how twonice guys wouldnt get along, good attitude. HOwever, if that shoulder keeps acting up,Isee no place for him in this sport.
Com’on guys
Hes a bulldog.
He is relentless and is aggressive.
Whats to hate except the shoulder?
He will win.
Split Decision.

Ok, then I guess I’ll just have to laugh at you for the next 5 mintues or so.
Manny’s Judo and Grappling are absolutely sick. Those who can’t appreciate it do not understand what they are looking at. His stand up isn’t technical, but he hits real hard. If the shoulder holds up, he will win this fight easily.
nate to win in round 2. tko. if nate can keep good take down defense he’ll knock em out. plus he is my first cousin of course i got him to win.
