I’d definately score that round in favor of Kang. I didnt say Kang was dominating Akiyama, just that he was clearly winning it. You can’t simply say that because Akiyama bloodied him that swings the round in his favor. Yes damage counts but it doesnt trump the other factors to be considered when scoring a round. Those leg kicks Kang delivered were extremely solid, completely disturbing Akiyama’s foundation. Kang was definately the aggressor for the majority of the round while Akiyama did more countering than initiating. I’ll definately be watching the fight again & I’ll try to be as objective as possible (I encourage you to do the same) but I remember Kang landing most of the punches. I’m not afraid of being wrong so I’ll recant if necessary but I’m just calling it how I saw it.

…what fight are you guys watching. Kangs striking was crisp, his leg kicks were landing perfectly. He opened a cut with a jab,on the bridge of his nose, that was no big deal. Other than that, I thought Kangs standup was far better. He got caught, that’s about it. I’ll take Kang, 9 out of 10 fights with Akiyama.

Not really but I wonder how many of these comments we will get from this. I hate when people think a fighter can not loose. Sorry I like Kang and I am just waiting for the overrated, overhyped, Akiyama is the MMA god post. I still think Silva beats Kang, but that is just my 2 cents worth….

Denis Kang lost, so what? I guess you thought Randy Couture was overrated when he lost to Chuck Liddell too.

I dont think Denis Kang is overrated what-so-ever. That is like saying Shogun is overrated. He lost so what. Get over it.

I wouldnt put it past some of the misinformed zealots that frequent this site but I dont recall anyone saying Kang would “kill Silva”. However, myself included, I did see a few folks stating that he would give Silva a good fight & I firmly believe this to be true. I’ll say for sure that Kang should be able to smoke everyone in 185 besides Okami, Franklin & Silva.
