Jesse, I don't understand you. You state "four episodes, four first round snoozers". Do you even like the show, or MMA for that matter? I thoroughly enjoy the show, doesn't matter if its three rounds or one. Its good to see all aspects of the show, including the trainings, the guys interacting at the house, fighter/coach commentary, etc. What do you expect? All fighting and nothing else? How about watching UFC Unleashed? Its nothing but fighting. Or maybe for you, how about TNA? Maybe reality is too much for you. Just sit back and enjoy the whole story, dude. As the show progresses, it gets even better. We deserve better than your kvetching.
WOW FRED, get off Jesse's back. He knows more about MMA than you know about you and your family. PLUS, Jesse said, and I quote, "four episodes, four first round snoozers". Which I translate to the 1st 4 fights sucked. Which is 100&% true.
The show needs some English fighters to show you how to fight
I was a Hughes hater ever since TUF 2, I've always respected his determination as an MMA fighter. I agreed with Serra, Hughes was a dick back then as a coach.

I think GSP putting him on his ass like no one ever has and Serra calling out in public Hughes on a personal level, and lets not forget finding God,(Im not a very religious person) has really made him channel his energies in a more constructive way.

I'm slowly starting to like Hughes again, and respect the way he's been handling his teams loses and them as individuals. Hughes handled it perfectly with Billy, his composure was good. Hughes knows Blake is not going to make it in MMA and despite that he did not treat him like he did Jason Von Flue from TUF 2.

Hughes hasn't won me over yet though, but I like what I'm seeing.
I am with you there, I am warmint to Matt Hughes too

So you enjoyed the Scarola angle? And that out of an hour show less than 2 minutes are of actual fighting?

We don't even get real training segments just story arcs.

I wouldn't mind bringing the challenges back or something else that adds another level of competition. That to me is what makes the show good - and something they seem to be resisting.
How can anyone possibly say after watching 4 episodes of this show that Matt Hughes in sincere and trying to be a better coach. He hasn't even TRIED to tone down the obvious fact that he only cares if he guys win because he wants to beat Serra. He doesn't give a shit about the fighters on his team which is obvious when he tortures them in practice because ONE guy had a bad fight. And don't even get me STARTED on his bible study crap. Hughes complains that he can't let his kids watch the UFC because Serra swears, but I would rather let my kids watch Serra any day of the week as opposed to Hughes. At least Serra acts like a man and you can see he wants these kids to win for themselves, not his team. Beating Hughes is just an added bonus. Except for Mr. "God wants me on Hughes' Team', I'll bet every single fighter on that team thinks Hughes is a complete prick.
I'm not a hughes nut hugger, I actually like Serra much better... but I'm making a comparison between TUF seris 2 and this TUF seris, EX: Hughes knows Blake is not going to make it in MMA and despite that he did not treat him like he did Jason Von Flue from TUF 2. There are multiple other comparisons.. but lets not get silly.

Key words... i said I like what I see so far, and qualifying it by saying I "think" he's sincere this time around (doesnt mean I'm positive). I'm pretty objective with what they show on TV and just take it as it comes and willing to add to my opinion when something telling happens... after last TUF 2 I really disliked Hughes'... he's sadistic. If you can see he's transparent and you're 100%, right, good for you, I'm not convinced... "YET" lol.

i still quite enjoy the show for what it is.
my only beef is that the fights happen right at the end of the episode so if ther are 4 minutes left until the show is over then you obviously know it's going to be a quick bout.

"Mac goes on record to profess his hatred for Richie because he wears his hat in a goofy fashion. I've got news for you Mac, you had better be prepared to hate a quarter of the male population."

I don't think Mac would have any problem with that. I'm worried about them messing with his food cause he'll flip out.
I think I heard Joe bitching that he just wanted one phone call a day or something. Are the fighters really held there by the show?

Also what the hell was hughes talking about towards the end of the episode when he said out of the last 4 fights, he gets to pick 3 of them..... Is he retarded or something? The 2 coaches get to pick every other fight, so how the hell is Hughes saying that he gets to pick 3 out of the next 4.... Hughes needs to work on his elemantary math, maybe he should be watching more Sesame street with his daughter, cause that form of counting makes no sense to me!
John, I'll explain this for you. The way the team pickings went, the winner of the coin toss had the choice of either getting the first pick, or chose the first fight. Serra ended up with the first pick, so Hughes got to pick the first fight. So Hughes will be chosing the 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th fights. BUT in chosing the 7th fight, he is also deciding the 8th and final fight. When its time to pick the 7th fight, there will be 4 fighters left. Hughes will pick 2 of them to fight in the 7th fight, and the other two that are left will automatically fight in the 8th and final fight. So Hughes gets to decide both matchups.
